  1. Great tip, I can see them having other uses too. Thanks for sharing
  2. Thanks guys. I wasn't as clear as I should have been, the chassis wasn't too small, the bag it was heat sealed into was too small and warped the chassis, possibly from the heat sealing being too close to the styrene
  3. Cool looking so far, it sorta reminds me of the south american truck racers
  4. I think one of the fujimi mercedes has a very similar set so they probably have done them as a wheel set too. I dont think they are one of the current releases so finding them might take some time
  5. This one is one of the amt pre painted kits built basicly box stock apart from a slight lowering all round and some jaguar wires. I redid the chrome on the roof and sides with foil and the rest is as it came. The chassis on this was pretty warped from the bag being way too small for it but once the interior and engine were in some strong glue and taping it together for a month fixed it. I didn't realise it was still so dusty until I saw the pics, was sure i cleaned it better than that, lol
  6. There's also the british noble m12 which is now being built in the states under another brand.
  7. I thought it might be fun to pick your brains and see how many manufacturers made tooling or sold it overseas to other manufacturers. For example how many of you knew that the chinese red car limos were based on the chrysler 300 from the 1950s, and I remember reading somewhere about ford building a factory for the russians that wouldn't be a ford plant. There are loads of others so it might be fun to see how many we can list.
  8. Engine is pretty near finished, just a little touch up once the rest is together
  9. Nice work, a awesome change from what you started with.
  10. That's beautiful work, it certainly lives up to the starler moniker
  11. Cool build, I like your rim choice,
  12. The fines for commercials volume are much less than they earn from showing an advertisement so they just ignore it as thats more profitable
  13. Got the blue on this morning. Needs a couple of touch ups on the white stripe but 2 layers of finger nail striping tape will fix that, but it will have to wait until the enamel hardens a lot more Just the lower bumpers, mirror mounts and window trim to paint black now then I can finish off the engine
  14. If you look in afew differnet dollar/pound shops you should be able to find a size to suit, (i bought all the sizes) and if your lucky wont need to split them. Be careful when buying them too as while most are styrene some are a different plastic. Also avoid the coloured ones, and those with glitter in, something in them reacts with the paint no matter how careful you are to put a barrier between the paint layers. Also some of the knife handles make great running boards for 30s customs
  15. would it be used with some sort of air suspension on the tractor unit?
  16. you dont want to see how bad the third version on the car blueprints site is, it could be anything with a similar shape
  17. its a handy site but uses a little artistic licence on some of the images
  18. this might help, http://carblueprints.info/eng/prints/de_tomaso/marcos
  19. neat work. I like your cab modifications, they look like the ones that the farmers use for cattle floats around where i live
  20. Got some paint on today and since pull over didn't really fit the build I went with give up backwards. I'll be putting blue lights in the grille in place of the spotlights to go with the very loose theme I mistakenly painted the rear bumper red but its an easy fix I'm going to have to take a chance on the blue paint as so far its all all duplicolour acrylics, but the only blue I have thats not metallic is an enamel. I have a little overspray and a small chip to repair before that though
  21. I had to split the spoon to get the curvature for the arches. Originally I was going to use it as one piece but it just wasn't quite there
  22. Been working on this for a few weeks. It started as a pro touring build but somewhere along the way it morphed into something else . It was always going to be stanced and widebody, just maybe not this extreme. The wide arches were made using plastic spoons and the original arch edges. The suspension is as low as it was possible to get it without cutting the front inner arches. I have fitted some hobby design front brakes but they are hardly visable in these pics. The engine still has to get a turbo fitted which I fully expect and sorta hope will hang over the radiator as it looks kinds tough. It was originally going to have a saleen style paint job but that has now changed to the yellow, red and blue cop car from mad max
  23. except this thread which is kinda odd
  24. I am unable to post or send pms today. Everything I do gives me a 404 error
