the base coat will change the colour. these are both hok brandywine pearl but the bonneville is over flourescent pink, while the bug is over a bright metallic gold. the bug has a much deeper look to it. these are both 3 coats of the pearl and 2 of duplicolour clear

pva and dried dirt over brown paint. get your dirt/earth from various locations for a variety of shades. I have from near black through to almost burgandy. you can also use spray cans to paint sand if needbe. simply lay the dry sand out in a thin layer then dust (not paint, just very light dust coats) with suitable colours, leave a few minute, then stir and spread out again for another dusting of paint. repeat until its the colour you want. if you use 2 similar shades it can look very real. the tamiya marine colours are great for this

some words cause posts to be rejected by the forum software. its usuall co mmand type words from programming that do it. adding spaces to the word or spelling them wrong lets the post get through -

i think you are on the right track but might need to do the pieces indivually rather than all at once. that way you could also follow the real trim for the pieces -

if you look for albion abrasives on amazon, they sell packs of mixed sheets between 240 and 12000 grit. decent quality and around a tenner. i got 6 sheets of each in my pack and i'm still using the first sheet of the finer grades -

Progress or stupidity? You decide...
stitchdup replied to Ace-Garageguy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
the previous oner obviously made the mistake of using the indicators once, that really messes up bmw electrics (or so i'm guessing from the fact i've never seen them used at junctions) -
no, and i'll take them one at a time. a competency test? that alone defeats the purpose of the forum, which is to promote and grow the hobby. what if the person is joining to find out how to start modelling? besides that if they found the site then they can obviously use google. how do you think most of us arrived at the site the first time? most existing members have proved their worthiness and we're not about to ask members to prove their worthiness, we moderate the first 25 posts for that. spelling errors leading to suspension is just a stupid idea. we have members from all around this planet, many of whom are ESL, and members from other english speaking countries and many of the same words are spelled differently in each country so which one do we use? i'm in scotland so if i was to use that for allowing posts every american post would need rewritten, but we're mostly adults here and as long as its ledgible i'm going to allow it. besides all that, the amount of extra work that would cause the admin team is ridiculous and we do want time to build models too. we're here to promote this hobby, not be the gatekeepers to a secret society. if thats what your looking for maybe the goat hoose (freemasons) would be more to your liking

Folks, when you get these pms please report them using the 3 dots. we cant see your pms unless you report them. by all means warn other members but remember the 3 dots. they make it much easier for us, thanks
-
they are banned

i still think buying the admin team lamborghinis is overkill, an rs6 would do me
-
use the 3 dots and report it to us. just posting about it means we have to look for it but if you use the 3 dots its right there in front of us. also, the named members aren't involved. the scammers search for dormant account names to use
