I ask again, what tires have they used and how did they manage to get them mounted on the rims? This actually looks like two rounds of duct tape on the rims. How is this possible? I have mounted a few tires on rims over the years and have learned from experience that the lower the profile the harder it is to fit. This tire looks like it is a 10 profile. From the look of it, it must be something like 335/10-40. Who makes that?? -

But are the wheels real? What kind of tire is that and how does one fit that to a rim? -

I was just listening to a radioprogram called Proglogg, a program with Prog Rock as its main subject. The host was talking about the Prog Awards 2015 held last weekend and the band that won the Vanguard prize was Purson: http://www.purson.co.uk/ In a small interview from the awardsshow they said that their latest album (on sale soon I believe) is going to have a code in it that gives you the possibilty of downloading a file from wich you can 3d print the band members genitalia!!! Not really modelrelated, I know, but 3d printing is clearly with us as we speak -

Here is some scans from Classic Cars magazine some years ago: A very cool creation with an interesting story behind it. -
Looks very nice, you have done the same thing that I have plans on doing by combining the 68 1200 sedan and the 70 1500 cabriolet. How did you do the conversion job?

How did you build the Rover V8? I have been thinking of using such a motor in many projects but never found out how to get a decent one. (one example is Escis Range Rover) Anyway, great builds Tim and yes I will have to buy atleast one of this kit. I had several model A kits some years ago but have sold of all of them over time. Now, it looks like I have to buy them back.

Here is a link to the Aoshima reissue of the kit that is currently for sale at 108$: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AOSHIMA-1-24-Mercedes-Benz-230TE-Discontinued-Rare-Scale-Model-Kit-Box-Damaged-/171883989891?hash=item2805158b83 Tthere was also a sedan version of the kit. I got two different versions of the sedan, one 300E Polizei in a Revell Electronic box (comes with flashing lights and sound in a microchipcard) and one 230E Lorinser with a special bodykit and wheels. I can also mention that Fujimi had a C124 300CE 24valve coupe that is a very different tool and indeed better propotioned than the Revell kit. If they every reissue these kits I think I will try and graft a Fujimi front and rear end on to the Revell body.

The floorpan on it's wheels with the brakepipes and hoses in place. Yes, I have made a mastercylinder The nosejob is starting to look like something. I want to use the stock VW headlamp from the kit and that's why the holes as oval instead of the normal round ones that we are used to see. And after quite a few hours of work I got this: Rear part of the body with the firewall and innerfenders. All the white parts are my work and the black bits are what the kit gave me. A little rough yet but it is getting there

Nice one. I also built this kit some years ago and I know how much of a challenge it can be.
