  1. I comprised a selection of tool that I consider to be basic and essential for modelling and took a picture of it. I see now that I have forgotten to add a brush to this but I think that this will cover most basics.
  2. Fantastic looking dozer, I love it. Your weathering job really makes it looks realistic and I like the cab a lot. I got the kit myself and one day I will build it and it will be something similar to this I think
  3. Thanks for the commets Yes, this did make a buzz at the show, both among the crowd and on the table. Sadly I could only have it running at the Norwegian Challenge show because at the next show I went to (the IPMS show) the tablecloth was of a more slippery type and it started moving around
  4. Some years ago I built one of the reissues in a modelling club "In-speed build" (we build models while driving to a show). It ended up like this: I was at the time intrigued by the challenge of building one stock so I bought another one, this time the 1987 Fat Fendered Monogram issue. I also got a couple of the 37/38 Pickup kit to take wheels from. Will probably have to scratchbuild or source more parts as the interior is not something that I like. But as for your model, what about trying to build a "barnfind" or "forest wreck" type model? Something similar to this: And here I even found a link with a 37 Ford looking like that in it: http://www.volksrods.com/forum/showthread.php?p=581839
  5. Nice, I like the wheels. What kind of washer is that anyway? Oh, btw, I was thinking of something else when I first read your topic title
  6. Many Italeri kits are reboxed or reissues of kits from other makers. I got a Mercedes S600 in a Revell AG box that is also available in a Italeri box and a Mercedes G-wagen and a Renault 5 that is both old Esci kits and I would not be surpriced to find a kit from a different maker in a Italeri box. Revell AG and Italeri seems to have a very close co-operation as many of their kits are available in both brands boxes and I belive they also have worked together with many other manufactures up trough the years.
  7. That police car possibilty sounds very interesting. I think I will try and keep that idea in mind for the future Thanks to Tim for the pictures, this one will go on my list of kits to get I will also have to get some anti-aging pills because I have recently calculated that at my current buildingrate I would have to get past a 150 years to build all of the models I have and that does not include the ones that I want to buy in the future
  8. Yes, faster and cheaper. I have gotten two parcels sent via USPS with Fist Class Package International and it reached me in less than a week (4 and 5 days). I also got a parcel sent trough the GSP and it was twice the price of the USPS First Class and took nearly two weeks. Anyway, a very nicely built model and acctually (in my eyes) much better looking than the boy-racer looks of the S&H Torino. For the time he spent I'm guessing that the price is not very high. Would I buy it? No, but I like to build the models myself. But I guess that for someone that wants a really nice model of a specific car this is a good way of getting it.
  9. The sadest thing about it is not the price it went for but that it is shipped trough the Ebay global shipping program, VERY slow and expensive is all I can say about that. One of the reasons that buying stuff trough Ebay is no longer an alternative in my eyes.
  10. Haha, really cool one!! I love that idea and your execution of it is superb, top job
  11. I really like that coupe, very nice indeed
  12. Looks very nice, and in a color that I have not seen on these before. Looks very understated (almost plain-jane-ish) with the wheels that Tamiya has put on this kit
  13. Very nice looking cars you got there
  14. Very nice, I like it. The wheels actually suit it very well and in my eyes they look better on the bigger truck than the model they come from
  15. The model I did this on was the AMT Ford C600 stakebed truck. The drivers side A-post was broken at the bottom and bent inwards with a bend about in the middle of the post. I first tried to bend it bakc buy putting it in warm water and gently bending it but it was not very good and because the post was very thin it broke where the bend was. I was able to use the upper half of the post as a guide and with som sheet styrene I made a new lower half of the post. It was still very weak but when I got the windows inside the truckcab it was not a problem.
  16. Very nice build and thank you for the info on those wheelcovers. A 1:1 version of your truck sure would be a nice one and could probably be quite popular
  17. This looks great, I love it Very cool with the background for the pictures.
  18. Yes, I will have to get my hands on this one
  19. Haha, that I had not expected to see I have the Fujimi kit and it looks like a very good one. The windows sit flush in the body with a fit that is so good that one could probably get them to stick withouth glue.
  20. Yes, I don't think the young girl behind the counter in the store really understood what I was going to do with it when I asked her how long the battery lasts. Yes, just as driveable as many of the real outrageous show rods.
  21. I like it a lot, that is a very nice color for it
  22. Nice one. I like the look of the RoG standard bumpers on it. How did you do the opening rear quarterlights and sunroof?
  23. Great looking model, this is just about the same as I want to do with one of my kits aswell
