  1. I did buy that kit with the red car on the box thinking I could build a stock Nova, was so dissapointed when I opened it that I gave it away to someone else. I have an old builtup gluebomb of it somewhere with the SuperNova decals and all the other bits.
  2. The foiling looks just as great as the rest of this truck does
  3. Ok, I think I have found an engine I want to put in this now. The 460/5,7L from an old Monogram F250 gluebomb that I got but does anyone have any nice ideas for performanceparts to add on to it?
  4. Welcome to the forum This looks like a cool project. I like what you have done so far
  5. At what time was the Revell kit first released? Before or after 76?
  6. I think it looks better with the caddy fins than before it got them but I still sould not call it pretty or cool. I guess bizarre is the only good word for it. There is always some freaks in this world and the we all would be poorer without them.
  7. I was inspired on christmas eve by this Matchbox diecast. A Flareside Pickup as it says on the underside, red with flames, big wheels, sidepipes, rollbar on the bed and a bullbar on the front. I started to do some work on the evening of christmas day and started with the Model King issue of the AMT 73-79 pickup kit, bed from Revell 56 Ford and wheels from MPC (these from Mountain Goat Jeep kit). I have so far shortened the frame, lifted the suspension with blocks between the axle and spring in the rear and scratchbuilt coilsprings upfront (steelwire round a screwdriver). This is the first mockup and I think it will look great but there is a ton of work still to do. You can see my inspiration in the front.
  8. Thank you very much for the review. I just have to get one (or two, so that I can build both versions)
  9. Yes, the Type 181 would be great to see as a kit. I have seen plastic toyversions that are about 1:24 scale but not sure who has made it.
  10. Waiting for a review of this one now
  11. Yes, I think they re-used already filmed bits from eariler seasons for later episodes. They also did the same in other series like A-Team, Airwolf, Knight Rider and others
  12. I like the look of that truck. You must find motication to finish it
  13. Thanks for the tip, I had to buy one aswell
  14. Thanks for posting the pictures. I did buy both a panel and a carryall from R&R some years ago. I see that the panel is still listed on the site. http://www.resinrealm.net/Star/RRGalleries/RR_All.html
  15. Looks like a lot of the trucks are rentals.
  16. Thank you very much for the nice comments I'm tinkering a bit with this at the moment. I have tried to add a little depth to the interior by adding a wash to the doorpanels and seat. I have also replaced the brake pedal with the ones from Revell 32 Ford as it now has a manual instead of an auto gearbox. Will post some more pictures later.
  17. Wow, that is great Tom. I really love that Yes, I belive they probably did.
  18. This is a very familar sight, here in Norway it seems that a lot of the tims this happens it is with a driver that is unfamilar with the place (very often from another contry) and are rellying on their GPS to get them to their destination. How they can manage to not see all the signs are difficult to understand. Here is a link to a newspaper article on one of the incidents and the bridge in this one has been hit many times. http://www.adressa.no/nyheter/trondheim/article10665568.ece
  19. Here is some info on the Mercedes OM 502LA engines. http://www.powertrain.mercedes-benz.com/content/powertrain/mpc/mpc_powertrain_website/en/home_mpc/powertrain/home/engines/euro-v/heavy-duty/om-503-la.fb0001.html
  20. I have seen some of your earlier builds and this one is no worse than any others I have seen. You do a great job turning a not-so-good kit in to a gem. This is really great
  21. Thank you very much. I have taken a lot of inspiration from other builds on this forum and also looking at vintage hot rod pictures on the H.A.M.B. site. I'm not normally a hot rod builder but it is nice to build something like this aswell.
  22. I was inspired by seeing all the other 29 A's on this forum so I bought one and started it in November. I have replaced the engine with the one from Revell 37/38 Ford pickup and rear axle from AMT partspack hot rod chassis. Tranverse leafspring and mount from AMT Ford A roadster chassis. Other than that, it is out of the box so far. Still a lot of work to do but it is slowly getting there.
  23. I remember seeing that picture in a magazine some years ago. A really cool build. Maybe one could build one from the AMT 53.
