Yes I can see from the maps that Salt Lake City to Bonneville is about 120miles. Our current plan is that we are going from Salt Lake City to Denver but I want to spend som time in Salt Lake City and maybe do a day out to Bonneville before we turn east later on. Our flight takes off on April 24th and we land in Salt Lake City and our return ticket is from Denver on May 7th. As for rental car I don't really care what we get. A car that runs. I'm used to driving old cars here at home when everyone else drive a mediocre modernday plastic box so I might aswell rent a mediocre modern day plastic box when we are on our trip. At least, our car will not stand out to much

1/25 Volkswagen Beetle non-convertible
Atmobil replied to 69NovaYenko's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Yes, the old IMC (also reissued by Union) and the old Revell (USA) tool of 1968 is in 1:25. The Revell kit should not be to diffuclt to find as it has been out in many different versions but only the very first one can be built stock. There was one in the late 90s or so that was called "60s beetle" or something like that (flower power bug on the box art) that can be built stock but it has Empi wheel arch extenders molded in but these can be sanded down. I personally got 3 different versions of the kit (Lighting rods VW Bug, VW street machine (molded in pink) and Killer Bee baja bug) but there are several other versions aswell. -
I'm not sure what the box behind the cab is but maybe it could house a pump or tools? I think it looks to big to be a fueltank but I have not found much info on this truck so I don't really know anything. The place where the photos are taken is a little north-east of Trondheim in the now city of Stjørdal. The place is called Hell and is a very popular tourist atraction. In the Travel channel program "Worlds greatest motocyclerides" the host goes trough Hell and meets the most beautiful woman on earth: https://youtu.be/6U8DSrIEPPg?list=PLpmla1rUkQg4HDYQsgwgT1gBlzCl4E8lH

This is the reason that I have not been doing much modelwork in the last couple of months. This 1985 Mercedes 300 Turbo Diesel wagon is now finally back to its old glory. A lot of work has gone in to making this nice again. Since I took the pictures I have also managed to clean the interior up even better. Now this classic load lugger is waiting for it's new owner

Heller 1/24 BMW 328 -- anyone built one?
Atmobil replied to Matt Bacon's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Here is some pictures of a couple that a fellow Norwegian modeller has built. I'm not sure he is on this board. -
Ok, I have scrapped the idea of driving the truck to Long Beach. We are going on a holiday here and we want to rent a car and drive around. But what car? Is there a particular car that one should try and get? We also have postpone our trip to the end of april and early may. We have been looking a bit on the net and we have been talking of going from Salt Lake City to Denver, I also could have wanted to go north from Denver and drive to Rapid City (I want to see Mount Rushmore). But we don't have to take that route so is there anyone that can come up with any advices of where to go? What to see?

Wondering about all the Forum's members...
Atmobil replied to Ramfins59's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Well, for me personally the reason for joining this forum in the first place was that it was a modelling forum that looks to have quite a bit of activity and it is mostly cars and truck (wich is my main interest). I guess there will always be someone making a fuzz on internet forums (the internet seems to bring out the worst in some people) and many members will probably have joined the forum at some time and either not found it interesting enough or maybe not to their taste. In the last few years, many of the forums that I have been on (both modelling and others) have died of a lot. I think in many cases the reason for it is Facebook. That was also the reason I wanted to join this forum, because here there is so much activity here that it is difficult for me to keep track of it all. That was the way it was with most other forums aswell some years ago. I guess some people move on, maybe find other hobbies or maybe they work a lot or have families that require them to spend time on other things. I for one have a family and do not have as much time as before on building so therefore I have not finished a model in almost two years even if a couple have been really close. Bu I like it here, and I will try and be as active as I can. I try to reply to all the WIP threads and Under Glass threads of the models that I like and I try to keep up with the news but in the last couple of months I have been really busy with a 1:1 car project and have not found much time to keep up with stuff here or on other forums. -
In 2012 I got a wallet from my late uncles estate. He had gotten it as a gift from his bank in about 1990 and he and my late aunt both smoked heavily. I have now used the wallet for nearly four years and I keep it in my jeans pocket most of the time every day, I don't smoke and neither does anyone else here but it still smells of cigarettesmoke.

Maybe it is Minichamps 1:18 you are thinking about? https://ck-modelcars.de/en/eur/p/25011/chrysler-norseman-year-1956-light-blue-metallic-1-18-minichamps/107143320/ Wow! So what happened to her later on? -

So, the Andrea Doria wreck. How about a model of a Chrysler Norseman? -

Thank you very much for that videolink That would be a great weathering project on my 1:400 kit from Glencoe Models. I did almost finish a Micro Models paper model of this some years ago. I bought it on Ebay and scanned it and printed it out on a A4 photopaper so it would be a more manageble size. I was infact glueing together the funnels on it when my wife was in labour before our son was born My dream modelling project of this type is the SS America after she ended up at Fuerteventura. This has been my desktopbackground on my pc for the last 5 years or so: -

The reason for that was that the lifeboats at the time were supposed to "ferry" people to another ship that would come to the rescue. They where supposed to use them to go back and forth and pick up more people. I guess that they where thinking a little different about it back then. Even smoking was safe in does days -

If I could have Kate on that sofa naked then maybe it would be worth the ticket. -
Mack Superliner " Australian Road Train "
Atmobil replied to V8 Trucker's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Ah!! Look at that! Very nice, you have built one of my dreams The first truck model kit I buil was in 1998 and it was Revells version of the Peterbilt 377 and on the back of the box was a picture of the road train trailer and also the road train Kenworth. I have ever since wanted to build one like that but have never been able to by all the trailers that are needed. Funny thing is that I have also wanted to build it with the Mack Superliner and use the sleeper from the Kenworth kit. You have done a very good job on it and I wish I could see it live -

I'll put my money on the SS United States. I already have two models of it (one plastic and one paper) and drawings from an old Popular Mechanics on how to make my own model from scratch. -

One million dollars for a ticket!! Really?? I understand that it will be expensive to build but that still sounds very expensive. For the Titatnic there was a lot of third and second class passengers and the cabins and areas where they stayed was not very luxurious. If they are to keep true to the replica idea they must keep that aswell and I paying a million dollars to sleep in small bunk in a small room with seven (or was it four in each cabin?) other people seems a bit difficult to sell. At least, that is my opinion. And what about engine? Still steam or a modern day hybrid fuell-cell thing? -
Yes, the moment of the day that. I would not cry about the motorcycles. After all, it is done in the word of science (or was it entertainment?). I just wish that the sun wash shining a little bit less in my eyes the next time. Was there oranges on that appletree? Anyway, I wish that Daryl was Melissa and that there was a greater plan to all this. (yes, I have no idea of what you are on about and I'm not really sure what I'm on aswell)

The wheels I am using on this build could be based on Jackman wheels, I think: http://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/jackman-wheels-info-fj40.341644/
