Thanks for the list, I remember having seen the Victor estate before. I have heard of Novo making reissues of old Frog kits and I do have boat kit that was originally Frog and later Novo and then several others aswell. The version I got was made by the Polish company Gomix. The kit in question is the 1:130 Shell Welder oil tanker. The partsfit is so bad that I will most likely never build it and stuff like the railings are made of vinyl and is warped.

Great idea to have everything chromeplated. Paint sticks so much better to chrome plating...not..haha Would have been great to see those kits. I have seen a 1800 Landcrab beeing used as a daily driver around here in the summer time for several years. Did Frog ever do that many car kits? A quick ebay search gave me this find: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FROG-AUSTIN-1100-QUICK-FIT-KIT-/291768040987?hash=item43eebafe1b:g:9pEAAOSw74FXPYxK

A fellow Norwegian has made decals with Norwegian style plates just like this. He made them up in different scales (1:18, 1:24, 1:43, 1:35 and 1:87 I think) one sheet has several "blank" licenceplates and a huge amount of letters and numbers so that one can combine them to whatever one wants. He sells them at shows and such and I think it has been quite succefull. I think that a similar thing with US style plates would be a great seller.

I think they have been released many times over the years. I built this some 5 or 6 years ago: It is very simplified and far to wide. It scales out as being just as wide as a full size US car of the same era.

Spielwaren Messe Neurenberg 2017 + Pictures!
Atmobil replied to The Creative Explorer's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I bought two of the QuickBuild beetles for my son and it scales out at something like 1:22 I guess. It is built up in the same way as Lego (the parts have the same size attachments) so it can be combines with that (you can put Lego-men in seats) and is therefore easy to put together and take a part again for a child. Not fantastic amount of detail on anything like that but look fairly good when built up. -
That is some that I have not seen before, I have previously been in contact with this guy: http://www.jbot.ca/cars/us/usfr.shtml but these are all for modernday law enforcment. I could have wanted to have them for other types of vehicles aswell and for older types. I was lucky enoguh to get some trough Aaronw on this forum but there is nothing to my knowledge that is readily available out there that can be used to depict other types of vehicles used by the USFS. AMT have several models that could be great Forest Sercvice vehicles, like the Ford C-600 stake bed truck, the 60 Chevy pickup, the 72 Blazer, 67-72 Chevy and GMC pickups, the 73-79 Ford pickups and many others and if they released a stand alone decal sheet one could be using it on Revells new Bronco and the Moebius line of Ford pickups aswell as dozens of other kits.

I can see that Revell is releasing stuff that I have to buy for my son. The Cars models is something that he would love to get his hands on. -
Revell Reissued 57 Chevy Black Widow wrong body ?
Atmobil replied to kingiguana's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Yes, the Black Widow kit was the first one, kitnumber 85-4240 and the Bel Air sedan is 85-4251. -
I post smy sugestion to the site here aswell: Dents, dings, scratches and small rust spot decals. And what about decals for United States Forest Service vehicles? I sure would like to see that. And a "Make your own" licence plate sheet with blank plates depicting all states at a certain time period (say 1950s or 1960s) and letters and numbers that are separate and can be added to the blank plates. And some custom decals with pinstripes, flames, murals, go-faster stripes etc. for all those custom vans and cars and hot rods.

Yes, I got the Admiral and the Mercedes G4 in 1:24 and they are great looking kits. But looking at their webcatalog they got so many other cool ones in 1:35 that would be great to see in 1:24 like the ones that I mentioned. A friend of mine has a Opel Kadett just like the one they got in 1:35 and he would love it if they came out with it in 1:24 (maybe that could spure him into finishing the restouration of his fullscale one aswell).

Cool tutorial, the uses of the coffee stirrers are endless. I tend to grab a handfull of them with me everytime I have the chance to. -
I sure hope they do, they have several cool kits in 1:35 that I would love to have in 1:24 (like the Mercedes 320, Magirus truck and Opel Kadett) and looking at the quality of the kits they sure can deliver.

I have had this exact thing happen to me at two deals recently. I think it is the Ebay software that makes the problems. I had to just complete the transaction and then send a message to the seller when I paid. I was the refunded the extra postage fee by the seller. If I did not complete the transaction I have not bought the items because I have not clicked the "Commit to buy" button. I did not have the option of waiting for the seller to send me an invoice.

I am quite certain that I have seen tri-five Chevys with RHD somewhere. Have I been dreaming?

Modelling Oddities/Mistakes
Atmobil replied to NY Modeler's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Another kit of the same brand of car but different model brand. I got Fujimis kit number Mercedes Benz W124 300CE with the box calling it a Mrcedes-Benz W124. Misspellings can be made by anyone and I guess there is probably thousands of different products around the world with words spelled wrong on them. In this modern day of journalists being just monkeys with keyboards, many of the newsarticles I read have bad spelling and loads of factual errors in them. I chuckle when I see something spelled wrong on a modelkit box but I despair everytime I see a "journalistwritten" news article with bad spelling and errors in it. -
The short answer: Yes I got a stash of about 500 ubuilt kits and have in the last ten years or so built about 50 (I think). If I'm lucky I will be able to build models for another 40-50 years but realisticly I will probably be able to build for another 25-30 years. At a rate of 5ish models a year I can produce another 250 models at best or maybe just a 100-150 more at least. So even in the most possitive scenario I will only build about half my stash.

Revell Ford F150 Harley Davidson edition
Atmobil replied to 57peppershaker's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I did a bit of a online search to be sure. I found the instructions for the Lighting and the 97- F150 XLT on the Revell website and here you can see how the engines look: 97 F150 XLT: http://manuals.hobbico.com/rmx/85-7215.pdf 99 SVT F-150 Lighting: http://manuals.hobbico.com/rmx/85-7223.pdf The HD kit has the same engine as the 97 F-150 XLT but now that I can sit here and look at all of the instructions and the parts for my HD kit I can see that the HD kit has some of the Lightning parts in the box. There is actually a supercharger on the partstree. The HD kit has different front seats with HD logo on them and the Lightings stearingwheel. It also has the same suspension as the Lighting but different wheels. Other bespoke parts that I see is different front pumper and step bars for the sides of the cab. It also has the radiator shroud/core support of the Lighting kit. -
