I bought this D/W 300 cab with 8 foot Utilinebed from mustang_mom44820 on Ebay before Christmas: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1967-Dodge-W300-Longbed-Truck/282814796762?hash=item41d91353da:g:5KcAAOSwiBJZ-b2m It cost quite a bit of money but the casting is very good. Same seller has some other aswell, I want to get that D100 as soon as my paycheck clears next week.

Just got this from PhotoBucket; all I can say is (censored)

I think they are getting desparate and are full of BS. -
ooh...nice. I already have several of the older issues of this kit in my stash (atleast 3 unbuilt and a couple of started ones) and I have built two of them over the years but the decalsheet makes me want to buy another.

Hum3d - Large Source of 3D Modelled Autos
Atmobil replied to Erik Smith's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I agree, this is very exiting to see. One can wonder if Revell, Moebius, RC2, Tamiya and all the others will be outperformed one day. Think a bit in to the future. One can imagine that having a 3d printer at home will be about as common as having a normal printer contected to you computer today. I'm guessing that you will see online stores selling ready to print 3d files for the same price as a current kit and one can print it at home. -

Nice work on this one, love the patina you have added to it. -
Whats the weirdest kit in your stash?
Atmobil replied to mustang1989's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That must be Elon Musk's next big project -
Thank you for the comments, I'm glad to see that you like it. I have never had much experience with weathering before so it is very much a trial and error. I'm trying to replicate a vehicle that has been driven in a typical moist and cold climate (like Chicago or New York or indeed Norway) and the rust damamge is very much the same that can be seen on vehicles here where I live. My 2004 Mazda 6 is one of them. I was shocked to find that a lot of the undercarrige looked like it had been at the bottom of the sea for several years but that is just normal for a 10-15 year old vehicle around here that is driven in the 8-month long roadsalt period and only washed when it is mild enough not to freeze (wich is only before early November and after early April). For the interior my inspiration is a Opel Kadett B (1967-1972) that is sitting outside near my parents cabin. It has been sitting outside since 1985 in a coastal climate. Covered in snow most of the winter and then grass (and in later years, small trees) are growing around, trough and under it in the summer. The floors in that is covered in something that is white/lightgrayish mixed with some green and looks a bit like dusty fur in its texture. Here is a couple of pictures of the Opel (not the inside) In many ways, this Opel Kadett is what I think of when I'm building this Bronco. It is beyond saving. I'm sure that if one tried to move it away from its restingplace it would rip open as the body is more old paint than metal nowadays.

For many years now there has been a Christmad build thing going on the swedish Skallerackers forum. The rules are simple, you start with an unstarted kit on Christmas eve and finish it by new years eve. Scale and type of model is free to choose. This time I went for Monograms 1:24 1980 Ford Bronco. A kit with not that many parts should be possible to finish in a week (at least if it was not for the fact that I have a family that requires me to spend time with them aswell) So this is where I started off: I wanted to get it done quickly so went for the "panzer-builder-way" and glued all of the chassis, engine and stuff togheter in one go. Then I painted it flat black. Used Scenic Rust from Deluxe Materials, never tried it before. I used liberal amounts of rust on the chassis and floorpan. This is never getting back on the road Interior was painted all black and with various pigments I tried to make it look dirty and nasty. The body was subjected to a beating with a Dremel and some flame and screwdriver. Lots of dings and rust. I primed and painted it in a blue that is similar to an original color. I want to flatten it out and add more Scenic Rust to the damamged parts. The tires are also going to be worn out (balded) and airless and "old looking" before I'm done. I'm also making abase for it, sunken in to the ground with leaves and branches and some moss-like look to it.

USFS 1941 Chevrolet AK Pickup
Atmobil replied to Jim B's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Cool!! I like the ida of USFS truck. And that box art needs to go in the "worst box art" thread. I wonder why Revell went for those wheels and look on the boxart as this kit is a gem. -

I just joined Fotki with a 5 year plan. Now, I just need to migrate all the pictures and update all my old threads. I don't think I will update my threads on the forums I am no longer active on as it will be enough work to update just the active ones. -

Where did I see parts for 72-80 Dodge pickups?
Atmobil replied to Atmobil's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Thanks for the links guys. Now I can see if I can manage to get my hands on a 72 grille and a long bed and I know Scenes Unlimited has som nice looking wheels. I really wish that Round2 would reissue the old MPC Dodge trucks as I want more than just one. I want to make a replica of the Mopar Muscle Truck and the Rollsmokey and I want to build a basline 72 D100 with slant six and many more. -
I remember seeing that show. I really liked the bit where James had gotten a school class to build a tank model each. Most of them had gotten a lot of help from dad and they thought it to be fun when May wanted them to destroy them in a mini-battle. All except for one kid that is, he had built his tank with pride and wanted to keep it. So there was at least one potential modelbuilder in the group

Car Craft magazine funny car model article
Atmobil replied to oldnslow's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Cool, I just recently learned of Steve Magnate trough MTOD and Junkyard Gold (I just watched the latest episode some hours ago infact). Seems to be a guy with a lot of info in his head. Cool to see he is also in to modelkits. -
Chev Astro
Atmobil replied to iamsuperdan's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Really nice to see one of these built. I wish I had bought some of these kits when I could. Looks like they are more difficult to get hold of now. -
Looks really good, I guess if the factory had not burned down so early we might have had some Heb's looking a bit like that in real life aswell.

Wow, a stunning finish and in my all time favourite livery aswell. Great job

Here is the pictures that Hobby Search has on their site: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10504848 I'm exited to see a kit of the 200 series volvos and I want to buy atleast one but I'm not that in to racecars. I instead want to convert it in to the typical rural 18-year olds dream car, something like this one: From this article: http://www.tv2.no/a/8901391/ It is about 18 year old May Kristin (sitting on the front of her 1985 Volvo). I have for a long time had a plan on making a small diorama with a typical scene on a typical Friday night in rural Norway. A bunch of youngsters in their cars parked side by side at the local gas station. A Volvo 240 fits in perfectly along with the 700 series from Italeri and a BMW E30 or maybe a E36 (I got both) and I wish I had not sold my Tamiya Sierra XR4i because that could have been converted to a four door hatchback. I also have some other kits that could fit in, Mercedes W201 190E and W124 230E/300E, mk II and III VW Golf and maybe even a mkIII Escort (even if most of them have rusted away a loooong time ago).
