  1. I have read the book and seen the series and both are great (even if it is as usual as the book is better). In the book the main character goes back to 1958 (in the series it is 1960) and he buys a 1954 Ford Sunliner.
  2. Great modification, that really made the model a lot better. Now, if only we could have the 74 Monaco in 1:25 plastic kit form
  3. Cool conversion. Here in scandinavia (where firetrucks are often just normal trucks with a fire apparatus addon at the rear) it is not uncommon for restorers of classic trucks to buy old firetrucks to convert into whatever they are building. The reasons is usually (as Danno had already pointed out) that the firetrucks never get that much miles on them and are most of the time parked inside with someone taking good care of them all along. Not at all uncommon to find a 30-40 year old firetruck with something like maybe 40 000km on the clock and usually rustfree and with good mechanicals.
  4. Great looking Volvos you all I think it is great that Tamiya did such a commom modern car in the 90s, to bad they don't do that now.
  5. I can't think of a kit that I have built several times and liked, the only kit I'm aware of that I have built more than once is the AMT Ford C-series truck and that was not a nice journey but a kit I would love to build again is Hasegawas Nissan Sunny pickup kit. I built the first version they came out with and had a blast building it. I got another on the shelf so one day I'm going to build it again.
  6. The Nat Gas you are talking about, is that the same stuff they write about here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natural_gas ? And is that the same as LPG? I know there has been many cars converted to run on LPG but for some reason it has never gotten very common to do so.
  7. Sorry for bringing up an old thread but I recently found a toy boat that I had as a kid (I got no picture right now but will have for later). It is 270mm long and 82mm wide at the widest part of the hull. The hull is just about 40mm from the bottom and up to the deckline. I was thinking of converting this in to a 1:25 boat and started doing the math. 270mm in 1:25 is 270 inches or 22,5 feet. I then remebered the Owens cabin cruiser that had been reissued by Lindberg recently. It is said to be a 22 foot cabin cruiser on the box it self and the boxart drawing makes it look really nice but on the pictures of the real thing it looks kind of odd. I took it out of the box and measured and there it was: the hull is only 215mm long, in 1:25 scale 215 inches and that is just under 18feet (17,91 to be exact). So that is why it looks so stubby But then again, when you consider what manufacturer made this kit the first time it may not be such a surprice afterall, it was made by Palmer
  8. Here in Norway there has been talks of banning all use of so called "fossil" vehicles from 2025 or 2030 and now there is also talks of banning all cars that are driven by human drivers from 2030 or 2035. For me, such news only makes me sure, I'm moving to somewhere else. I was thinking of UK but after the latest news the UK is off my list.
  9. I found this: http://www.denverpost.com/2017/07/16/photobucket-fee-hike/ Maybe the company will collapse? What will then happen?
  10. I was one of many to start using photobucket because it was free and fotki was not. I started using PB in about 2005. A couple of years ago I did start to pay for a PB account as I wanted to get rid of the ads and I was running out of space. Now, after the latest changes I'm considering something else. I do however read this on the PB site: Since I have the Plus 20 account I will have until the end of next year to change to something else unless PB changes its policy in the meantime. I am currently also not building so many models and not sharing as many photos as before so I don't have the greatest problem with it, not yet at least.
  11. And here is a link that I just found and saved in my favourites. A Sox and Martin hauler replica: http://www.1962to1965mopar.ornocar.com/1963-dodge-afx-hauler-replica.html
  12. Here is some links to some ebay listings that have been on recently: This 71 D300 looks supernice: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1971-Dodge-Other-Pickups/142443993647?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 This 72 W600 dumptruck is way cool, some nice images to save as refrences here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1972-Dodge-Power-Wagon-/142414036421?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&nma=true&si=nh5TuAZGKc1cKlfJNd%2B0JAqQXYQ%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc Another nice looking 71 D300 http://www.ebay.com/itm/1971-Dodge-Other-Pickups-/252990242698?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&nma=true&si=nh5TuAZGKc1cKlfJNd%2B0JAqQXYQ%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc A rough looking 68 D300 with stepside bed: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1968-Dodge-Other-Pickups-2-door-/152546254813?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&nma=true&si=nh5TuAZGKc1cKlfJNd%2B0JAqQXYQ%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc The crewcab seems to be quite a rare beast and for some reason there is a lot more of the 68-72 model years than others.
  13. I posted this in the "What did you get today" thread but I will post it here aswell: Ok, I just had to post this here, yesterday this resin Dodge cab came in the mail from Ron Smith(oldr-n-drt). He advertised it as a W300 crewcab. In Dodge terms a W-series is a 4x4 and a D-series is a 2wd. If I'm not much mistaken the front fenders and sheetmetal is the same on a 300, 400 and 500 so depending on what frame, suspension and wheels you use you can call it whatever you want between a D or W 300, 400 or 500. Here I have played around a little bit with the frame and tires from the excellent Emhar Bedford O-series truck and resin rims from Missing Link (and some multi-tack and doublesided tape) to make a D400 . It sure looks cool!

  15. Very nice build, you have done a lot to improve this pig of a kit
  16. Very nice one, I like your take on this
  17. Ok, I have paid for photobucket before (can't remeber how much it was but it was not 400$ a year anyway) to get the ads off the site. This must be the reason I have heard nothing.
  18. Where do you find this information?
  19. Interesting how the world is different. Here in cold and wet Norway the temperature is about 50F and humidity probably at almost 100%, it has been raining constantly for several weeks and if I walk on to my lawn it is like stepping on a wet spounge with water shooting out of it. Even when it is not raining it takes forever for the asphalt to dry up and most of the times it does not get to dry up fully before another heavy rainshower hits again. Nighttime low is about 40F and midday yesterday was as high as about 70F but that obviously had to come to a crashing end with a thunderstorm and the temperatures dropped to about 50F again. Yeah, summer is great.......
  20. Yes a great race it was and the last couple of laps with Corvette and Aston was fantastic and that it ended the way it did was no surprice. One of them was going to loose and one was winning. I don't think any of them was any better than the other, it's motorsports and one always draws the longest straw.
  21. Haha, yes I do get these sometimes. I had to press refresh a couple of times but now I got this: Also notice the bottom ad there, it is in Norwegian and says that I'm visitor number one million and that I have won 10 000 kroner. I guess this is my lucky day, a russian lady and money. What else can go wrong?
  22. This one sure looks nice and clean. Your paintjob looks flawless, love it
  23. Cool project. Why not use the more beefy pro street tires on the back. I think it would look mighty cool with those.
