13" wheels in 1:24 scale. Help!
Atmobil replied to Chris1992's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Do you have any pictures of them? -
Great to see a build thread on this one. I got this one and the Owens Cruiser earlier this year but I'm really not sure when I'm going to build them as they look like "something-tha-t-Ican-no-twrite". But they are such cool looking kits so I do want to build them some day. I'm exited to see how yours will turn out

Now that is a cool one!! Here is the figures on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/MPC-1-25-Sweat-Hogs-Dream-Machine-Figures-Pats-LOOK-/292084332465?hash=item44019537b1:g:0C8AAOSwTM5Y7rJN

Did anyone mention the Italeri Truck Accesories yet? Here is the standig driver with cowboy hat that I modified to look like Santa Claus on holiday a few years ago: The hats are separate parts so I went for the truckers hat and I sanded the legs and arms plus his torso to mimic shorts and west with nothing else.

I wondering if Foose's design is so good that it could fool people in to thinking it was a stock truck if one just made it a little higher and put steelwheels and full profile tires on it. If one also tweeked the tailgate so that is says FORD, how long would it be on a showtable before people noticed that it is not stock...I think I want to try and find that out

Revell '66 Surburban shown at NNL-East!
Atmobil replied to Art Anderson's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Revell has had the same tires in all previous versions of the 64-66 pickups exept for maybe the california wheels edition. I do think it would be possible to paint the whitewall insert black and one could also put the tire on the other way so that the white wall is on the inside. Having painted it black, I don't think one would see it. I'm going to hazzard a guess here and say that all you need to do is fill in the rearsidewindow openings. -

Yes, I will buy it. The question now is, what am I going to do with the resin Suburban I got? I can see that built as a hauler for a small race team with lots of parts and tools in the back and a trailer behind it -

Ok, not a model so if it does not fit in, remove it. But I think it fits in: -

Sad to read this news, I was hoping that he would get better but cancer is such a cruel killer. May your soul rest in peace Harry. -

Here is my 1937 To Die For'd that I built it 2005. Driven by no other than mister Death himself. I spent the summer looking for a skeleton figure that I could use. Finally found a good one in a archeology toy. -
Not sure if it is the same but for me when buying on Ebay it is now in most cases that sellers are in the Ebay Global Shipping Program. That means that the seller sends the item to and Ebay address and Ebay then forwards it to the buyer. They also include taxes so that I should not need to pay that when it arrives. The sad thing is, the taxes are in most cases higher than what it would have been without the GSP and it takes a lot longer for it to arrive. I don't really care for buying stuff on Ebay anymore.

Moebius - Now that the Comet is out, What's Next
Atmobil replied to Swifster's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Many cool sugestions and ideas here. It will be exiting to see what they will come up with. I want to add my hopes and dreams to the pile and say, what about a Checker? Too strange maybe, but there are many cars out there that has never been kitted before. I wish for one of them, no mather what it is. -
Brian James Trailer, What's In The Box
Atmobil replied to martinfan5's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Thansk for the video. Cool that they have several towhitches in there, I can see them coming usefull on many builds. -
I have a couple of them and it looks quite nice. The Heller 1:43 kits have all of them less details than a 1:43 kit but go together quite nicely. The 1:43 2cv is an early one with corrugated bonnet. Not many parts and with good partsfit it can probably be built in a couple of days for most modelers.

Yes, I do belive that the Ford Transit was first issued by Esci in the black-box-with-red-van-and-Ford-ovals-only-box but it was also released by Esci in two different versions. One with a yellow van with Hertz logos and one white and red with Canon livery and supposed to be a Paris-Dakar rally vehicle. All three of these are going for silly money on Ebay.

I think it looks cool and Foose did a great job on it. What I'm also seeing is a test shot of the 66 Suburban in the background
-
I have no idea if it was the last one but that is the issue that I got, paid about 50$ for it.

My Chrysler A 318 poly head engine 3d printed at home
Atmobil replied to my66s55's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I feel a bit stupid here but does that mean that I could use the block out of the AMT 71 340 Duster as a basis for making the 318A in my 65 Dodge? -
Cool, even better if it had the slide-in-bed-camper aswell. Or maybe not for me as I payed a high premium for and original Elcy with camper last september

Not only R-M but also Round 2. the recently reissued 1:25 Owens Deluxe cruiser and Century Toronado boats (old Palmer kits) are also molded in the US.

Unique TV/Movie vehicle
Atmobil replied to BobbyHill16's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Not really TV or movie but you can all watch it for free on the internet: Roadkill https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL12C0C916CECEA3BC I want to build Stubby Bob: The 1950 Ford F6 dumptruck that they shortned frame, removed the flathead v8 and mounted a supercharged 454 Chevy big block over the back axle. They took it out for wheelies, and against tradition succeeded in doing so. Check out episodes 44 and 52. I would start with the Monogram 1950 Ford F1 pickup cab, not sure where to get the frame, axles and wheels from but it should not be impossible to source and I guess one should be able to find a big block chevy engine somewhere aswell. http://www.engineswapdepot.com/?p=10877 -
Could the MGB be a reissue of the kit made by Fujimi or Aoshima (or some other japanese brand)?
-
Cool kit, sadly it is in 1:35 scale and not 1:25. I built one like that in 1:72 some years ago On this one I went old school and brush painted everything, in 1:72 scale it is onlu like an inch long so it was very fiddly. The wentwindows on the front doors are PE parts.
