  1. I'm not sure if anyone has made a resin copy but there is an old AMT kit made back when these where new that had a long bed. You can see a picture of it on the box art of the much newer tooled 60 http://thumbs1.picclick.com/d/l400/pict/232049699364_/AMT-1960-CHEVY-CUSTOM-FLEETSIDE-PICKUP-TRUCK.jpg Somehow, they put the wrong truck on the boxart photo. I got the remains of an old builtup one that is supposed to be a 62 I think. Maybe you can try and look for one of these old AMT kits and add more updated details from the newer kit?
  2. These kits are great for swaping parts around. I got plans to use the step side bed with the cab and frame from the AMT 60 fleetside and the MCG photoetch badges to make it a 61 stepside.
  3. Really cool. I like your modifications to it
  4. I must be one of the youngest here, I'm 32.
  5. Really cool list, I wish it was real. I got the Magnum P.I. Vanagon, had to search for it for some time before I managed to get one. Interesting that the Volvo 760 kit got mentioned. In Sweden, it is really popular and can demand high prices but they don't look to be so expensive in the rest of the world. I bought one trough Ebay and paid about 25-30 dollars including shipping to Norway. I guess the shipping was about half of the price.
  6. Very well built dozer, your weathering makes it stand out
  7. Yes, the "Little grey Fergie" is a tv-series made for kids. This is the first episode of a recently made series that was ment to make it more international. This one is clearly made in England but the origianl series was made in the mid to late 90s here in Norway. They made toys of it and also had a club and made many live shows. My son is now 4 years old and he has the DVDs and also a 1:32 toy version of the tractor. He wants to build a model with his dad all the time and I think that we should make an effort in building a model of it. Her is a link to the English website: http://www.littlegreyfergie.com/ And no, not much rolling in the hay with Daisy
  8. Thanks for the comments guys. I have still not had much time to do any work on the Dodge but winter is here now and that gives me about six months to get it up and running. The Corrado is not mine, it belonged to the guy that has the garage next to mine. He has since the picture was taken sold it. I have no pictures of it sadly.
  9. I am a great fan of old Heller kits and I remember reading an article somewhere about their way of designing kits back in the 60s and 70s and they really had hign ambitions, one was that they tried to make the fitment of window glass the same way as on 1:1 scale car, that is with a rubber seal that fitted around the glass and then the glass and seal would be fitted in to the body on a very thin lip in the body. They never managed to get it to work but they tried to make greatly detailed models for people that wanted to build a model and not just a un-assambled toy or promo. I have however not had much experience with more modern Heller kits but I belive that the once that have been released as new tools in the last couple of years are quite good. I have the Renault 4 they made and it looks good. I'm going to order a bunch of the fergies as I have many ideas for them and I also want to build one with my son. He is a great fan of a Norwegian tv series called "Little Grey Fergie"
  10. I have a LEE Mercedes 600SEL, very much a Tamiya copy, it does not look too bad but I once also had a Ferrari F50 kit from LEE. One would have to squint and look at it bad lighting to see that it should be an F50. Is there any information out there as to what other kits LEE had?
  11. You should contact Aaronw on this forum: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/profile/66-aaronw/ He has provided me with a bunch of USFS info, and yes, I agree with you, the Bronco would look great as a Forest Service vehicle.
  12. Yes, I think the tires look good. I want to use them on a slightly lifted 4x4 something.
  13. Cool to see one finished. I had one some years ago and tried to build it but the plastic on mine was very brittle and the body broke in several pieces before I got it finished. Yours look quite cool. Did they ever sell that in the states?
  14. Yes, I already got several of the old AMT 78 Ford kits so no lack of parts as such but new tooled is possibly better than the old in term of details. Hopefully someone that already got both kits will soon make a test fit and see if they can be used.
  15. This looks like a really nice one. I want one and hopefully it will arrive to my shores sometime in the future. But, does anyone know, if the the suspension parts on this would be accurate to use on the Moebius F100 kits?
  16. Wow, thats a cool list. Sadly we don't have that TCM here anymore, we have gotten a TCM Nordic that only sends movies made after 2000 or so. It has really lost it's glory latley.
  17. I did do some research some years ago about building a good stock 32 Ford. I don't remeber the details but I do think that there was someone making a good chassis in resin and that with axles from the AMT phaeton and wheels from (I don't remember where) some other kit and engine and body from the AMT kits one could get a very good stock one. The biggest issue with the old AMT kits is that they have molded in details in the chassis/floorboards that are there for hotrod versions and that the stock wheels are too small in diameter. But I think the bodies are quite good on them.
  18. So, you could claim that it is a much safer car than it was when new because you would be to scared to drive it at any sort of speed, "5mph is more than enough for me..."
  19. Just so you guys can see the differences in size on US vs Euro trailers, here is my 65 Dodge D100 as it was picked up on Idaho on April 28th and when I picked it up in Oslo on July 15th. OK, the trailer we used when we towed it from Oslo to my home is not a Brian James but it is about the same size and specs as the one kitted by Aoshima. The one that was used back in the US was MUCH bigger as the D100 did not look very big on it and placing it on the trailer was just a case of driving it up the ramps and parking it but the one we here in Norway was almost not big enough and we had to be very careful placing the D100 as it was on the very limit of what the trailer could carry. On the US trailer there was easily 3 or 4 inches clear decking on both sides and at the front there was quite some distance left and the rear end of the trailer was further back than the rear of the Dodge but our Euro trailer we had only about one inch of clearence on either side of the wheels and the front bumper was just above the front rail on the trailer and the Dodges rear bumper was hanging out behind the rear end of the trailer. In the photo you can also see a van (Ford Transit) that would be great to have kitted to fit infront of the new Brian James trailer.
  20. I sure hope Harry can get help, I donated a little bit now and hope others will do so aswell
  21. Now that is interesting!! Are those original option wheels? I got a set of 14" wheels in my stash that I have tried to find out where they came from. Mine are made by british GKN and I think they look similar but not identical to the ones ones on your car. The bolt pattern in 5-4,5" and fit a mopar.
  22. Sweet!! How did you go about converting it to left hand drive? I have plans on doing that my self so that is why I'm asking.
  23. Your not the only one, I did also see the show. They made a great looking LUV with nice patina too it. Your model looks very much like a teenagers ride back in the day. Is the kit any good? I want one but guess I have to pay trough my nose to get one.
  24. Cool, I have just sent them pcitures of my 65 Dodge D100. A plastic kit of this would be great!!
