To commemorate Junkyards
Atmobil replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Cool display, I want one on my wall And, yes, all the cars where just massproduced consumer goods that had reach the end of their servicelifes. Just like today.... Where does modern cars go to die? Will people 50 years from now weep when they see a 2003 Everyday-econobox crushed and stacked like that? The human vanity is strange, we spend all our time and resources on designing, constructing and producing a product only for it to be "out of date" tomorrow. -
Cool car, now this is one that need to be made in to a kit. Just see how many different variations we are seeing on the 56 Ford pickup. This one could also be interpreted in many ways, would have been cool to see it in scale.

GAZ was given help to produce vehicles from Ford so that is the reason why it looks similar. They also produced the GAZ AA truck that is similar to the Ford AA truck. The Volvo PV444 (and later 544) may look like a Ford but has no relation to it. It was designed in the 40s so that's why it looks the way it does. What about the Duett, what does this look like? Looking back at AMT's 1963 Chevrolet PU
Atmobil replied to Eshaver's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Someone ones made a 63 grille in resin I think. Atleast I got parts somewhere that I aquired from fellow modelclub member that he had intended to make in to a 63. The parts consist of a AMT 60 cab and interior with a Revell 64 chassis and hood and a resin grille for a 63. But I'm not sure who made it. -
Interesting to see what celebrity crushes you guys here got. I guess we all have our reasons. My all time celebrity crush is Melissa Joan Hart: I was a teenager in the late 90s and fell in love with this blond playing Sabrina. I think she still looks good and she is the only woman that I hope never to find horny in my bed because then I just have to be unfaithfull to my wife. All the rest of the horny women I can just shoos out with the explanation that I'm married but I could never say no to Melissa. Not even if my wife was standing right next to me (in that case I would be hoping for a threesome...haha) Saw here in a tvseries called Mel and Joey a few years ago, still looked hotter than a sunny day in the Sahara. Apparently shes doing stuff behind the camera now: https://www.businessinsider.com/what-melissa-joan-hart-is-doing-today-clarissa-sabrina-teenage-witch-joey-explains-it-all-interview-2017-10?r=US&IR=T&IR=T When I was even younger I used to watch Skippy the bush kangaroo and there was a young blonde girl there that I thought was really beautiful. I have now found out that her name is Liza Goddard: Sure, the Skippy tv series was filmes 50 years ago, so Liza has aged a bit: Today, I don't really think I have any real celebrity crushes (except Mellisa Joan Hart that is) but I started to watch some episodes of Storage Wars on History Channel when they introduced the new auctioneer Emily Wears: And I have been a fan of the show American Pickers and Danielle Colby for some years: Now she is a burlesque dancer aswell, for those that want to see her performe, go to youtube

Contact Aaronw on this forum: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/profile/66-aaronw/ He is in the USFS and may have decals to help you out. As for trucks, the AMT 55-57 pickup kits (most recent reissue is just out http://www.modelroundup.com/product-p/amt-r2-1094.htm ) that could be used for the cab, I think the only difference is the wheelopenings wich is bigger on a 2 ton. It also has a 265 V8 in it. I bought a set of resin wheels on Ebay a couple of years ago that looks to be of the same type that was used on trucks like that. I think I bought them from Missing Link but not 100% sure as I don't see them having them now: https://www.ebay.com/str/missinglinkresincastmodelcars http://www.missinglinkrc.com/index.htm You can see a picture of them here, they are mounted in the tires from Emhars Bedford truck kits and the frame is also the Bedford kit frame: http://www.modelroundup.com/category-s/232.htm Here you can also see a resin 65-67 Dodge that I bought from oldr-n-drt here on the forum: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/profile/10793-oldr-n-drt/ Contact him if you are interested in a kit of the Dodge (he also does singlecab) As for frame and suspension, scratchbuilding or sourcing from another kit with similar dimensions. Evergreen has stripstyrene in C-channel profiles in many dimensions or maybe the AMT Ford C-600 kit can be used as a donor for the frame.

Count me in on them aswell. I already got several resin kits of the 65-67 pie-plate trucks but would buy a huge amount if they came out in plastic. I also have a couple of the old MPC kits in the newer AMT/ERTL/RC2 Lil red express trucks but if Moebius did newer tooiling of them they could sell vert well. Now, lets see how this 4x4 Ford is going to be, I'm sure the parts will fit better togheter than the old AMT 73-79 tooling does.

I agree with the others, a very nicely done one this. I tried to do something similar with the sedan version of the kit but never got around to finishing it.

Nice job on this one, the color combo suits it very well.

oooh, a pimpmobile!!! Very nice one, all you need now is a figurine next to it with a big hat and even bigger flares. Maybe it should be on a base with a built in speaker playing this aswell:

AMT TV Special - 1960 Ford Falcon & Leva Car Double Kit
Atmobil replied to Casey's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Here is link to a Leva car on Ebay with its original box showing where it was taped: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-1960s-AMT-issue-Ford-Leva-Car-Levacar-built-in-original-box-Model-RARE/283063026426?hash=item41e7df02fa%3Ag%3AJw4AAOSwSK1a90UZ&_nkw=leva+car&_from=R40&rt=nc&LH_TitleDesc=0 My 66 Falcon from AMT looks like it has been taped in the same way. I have never seen the Leva Car before, looks like a really cool kit. I want one. -
When was that Pepsi Coke kit announced? And why did we not get it? I would have like to have it just for the decals.

1/25 AMT Snap Fit 1980 Toyota 4x4 Pickup
Atmobil replied to Casey's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Cool, I want to get that one for sure. They are some tough trucks in real life. Only thing that kills them is rust. -
1978 Dodge Adventurer 150
Atmobil replied to migace's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Sweet looking truck, you have done a fine job on this. I have actually been thinking of getting a set of that type of wheels on my own 65 D100 as there is a online wheelshop that has them for cheap. -
More Plymouth wheel covers

1963 Ford F750 Pickup
Atmobil replied to Chuck Most's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
oooohh!!! That looks just like something one would find out in a field somewhere. Great job on that one. -
Cool thing to do a build in 24 hours while watching the race. I have myself done several atempts at it but this year I have found a older project that is close to beign finished and doing some work to that. I started the project back in 2012 and the last time I did anything to it was summer of 2013. Revell 1964 Chevy C10 modified to a 4x4 K10 with resin wheels Watching the race on Eurosport and listening to RadioLeMans.com for commentary as usual (I hate the Norwegian commentators on Eurosport and the RLM folks are much better at knowing whats going on). So with 21 hours and 26 mintutes left, lets have fun

Famous Photos Recreated in Miniature
Atmobil replied to afx's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Cool project -
What is the driver doing? Trying to stop someone stealing his wheels?

Wasn't there a thread somewhere that was called "styling snafus"? That minvan, is that a Toyota? Kind of looks like modern day Toyota-type design. Maybe it's the new version of the Previa, perfect for "The revenge of Soccermom"

Good to know, hopefully they will be back aswell so I don't have to continue the moving of all my old pictures. But I have now paid for a Fotki account and will use that rather than the bucket for future photosharing.

I think it depends on what the youth has been exposed to in their short lifes. If a kid grows up today and is exposed to the same things that I was exposed to in the 90s (I'm born in 84) then they will like that and a whole lot of other stuff that Round 2 has and is reissuing. What was I exposed to? I saw movies such as American Graffiti, Bullit, Smokey and the Bandit, Convoy, Cannonball Run and many others. I saw tons of older tvshows like A-team, TJ Hooker, Airwolf, Fall Guy, Knight Rider, BJ and the Bear and Lassie (and many more). And because of Lassie I did end dreaming of a mid 60s Dodge pickuptruck and finally bought one two years ago. A friend of mines father had a room in his house filled with old carmagazines (most of them from the 70s-trough the late 80s) and we used to sit for days on end in their drooling over hot rods and classic cars in every shape. So, would I buy the 29 Model A if it came back, yes I would. And my oldest son (wich is now 5 years old) call all old cars (1920-trough to 1940s) for hot rods because I have called some of them for that. And he thinks they are cool and he also likes to try and build my modelkits
