  1. Here some of my long going projects, I do have more of them but these are the ones that I have photographed and uploaded. Old Esci/Italeri Land Rover, I started it in 2007 I think. Revell 54 Chevy that I have tried to make in to a "stock" looking car. Project stranded some ten or so years ago. Old Revell 1:25 VW panel that I started on in ca 2005/2006 Heller Renault G260 truck, a project I started in 2005. It was almost done and then it fell to the floor and just a month ago I gave the remains away to a friend. AMT Auto transporter trailer that I started to convert in to a racecar team hauler. A massive project that stranded several years ago. AMT "New tool" 57 Chevy, is going to be the car from the movie Return to Macon County. Is a lot closer to being finished than it was when I shot this but still has a lot of work needed. Revells 29 Ford roadster, the project was hot for a short time and then it stalled. Back in 2013 I wanted to build the ugliest hot rod I could imagine, with a Nissan inline six and wheels of a Alfa Romeo touring car. It started out as a Revell kit, will most likely never be finished. AMTs great 49 Ford, bought as a gluebombfind on Ebay and close to being restored. That was ten years ago and it now sits in a box somewhere. Revells 64 Chevy converted to a K10 with a scratchbuilt rowboat and trailer behind it. This one is so close to being done that I can smell the finishline. All it needs is wipers, mirrors, tailgate locks, licenceplates and a little weathering. Will be done by.......who knows. Monograms Ford F350 with AMTs Open Road camper. The picture is old and the camper has changed color to silver. The interior is detailed with lots of scratchbuilt items and a couple of figures. I have even built a functioning 1:25 deckchair to be placed on the planned "campers on tour" diorama base I have planned. AMTs 78/79 Ford pickup built as a lifted 4x4 flareside. Is going to get flames on the front end from the white to the red. A littlebit is done sometimes but it is not getting done anytime soon. So that it some of my stalled and abandoned projects. I do have more of them, at the top of my head I can remember these: 64 Dodge limo (two Lindberg kits) 55 Chevy Suburban (Flintstone resin kit) Scania 143 tanker truck AMT VW dunebuggy Tamiya BMW 320 race car (the E21 wide body kit) Monogram 53 Chevy (first modelcar I built on my own, I started converting it in to a 90s retro two seater sportscoupe ca 1998) Tamiya Jaguar mkII race car and there is probably more of them.
  2. Looks very nice. I'm looking forward to this release
  3. Cool news, a mk1 Capri is very much a wanted kit. I did build a 1:24 Capri some years ago, made by Academy I think. I never took pictures of it when after it ws done but these where from the building process: And some when it was nearly done: I had an accident with it after I cleared it and was never happy with the results after that. It was sitting to close to a warm lightbulb on my desk and the roof started to melt. You can see windows don't fit properly anymore. A very simple kit and according to experts the body is to big for 1:24, more like 1:22 or something like that.
  4. Yes, AMT and Revell is the same company. So is also Ford and Chevrolet, and the Corvette will be branded as a Ford in the future, atleast that was what a friend of mine told me some years ago. I think we where 11 or so at the time and now we are 34 and the Corvette is still a GM product.
  5. Wow!!! I want it. Looks like it got a really cool story behind it aswell. But it says that it has no VIN, can one register a car without a VIN? Or is this a permanent trailerqueen?
  6. Your right, its not that out of place. But it is greyed out on the instructions as not being used and among the other parts I do wonder if these parts belong to some other type of kit. You can see some of the parts above here. And the instructions: Anyway, back the the scheduled program
  7. Interesting, I don't have a fridge or coffetable or a piano but my kit is also the auto transporter and since it is the Con-cor reissue may not have had them in the first place. Then again, I have no garantuee that the kit I got is not missing any parts as I got it as an open kit with many parts loose from the parts trees. I love it when the manufacturers are giving us bonuses in kits. I have collected several kits with either hidden or advertised bonuses. I wish they would do more of that. One of the most modern ones I got is from the Boyd Coddington version of the AMT 62 Corvette. That has a laptop computer in it.
  8. Impressive looking result. I'm not going to rush out and buy it even if it is on sale but it will be interesting to see what people do with it.
  9. Great job on that one Olle, not a common kit to see built. Is it the Apline version or the rally version of the kit? What seats did you use? I got the rally version of it and want to build it in to a standard 5 of the first generation, parked in typical french style in a Paris back street with a young French woman walking either towards or away from it.
  10. Even if it looks a little toylike in the pictures I'm going to buy that. One can never have to much accesories in the stash. I do have four sets of the Fujimi Garage and one of each of their Tools sets (original and 2 and 3) and they also have some really odd stuff in them that makes no sense (like a coffepot and serving trays) but one day I will find a use for it. Talking of extra parts, the ex-Revell Con-cor Heljan 1:87 Ford C-series truck I'm working on at the moment has a sofa and two livingroom chairs on the sprues. I guess that will come in handy if I ever get to build a H0 scale diorama.
  11. Cool project, I dig it a lot. I just watched Dylan McCool pull a 72 D100 Utiline from a junkyard earlier today: And the Mopar Muscle Truck is really badass!! Love it!
  12. They should reisue this one with a William Shatner figure (or maybe a Heather Locklear figure would give more sales? ) I used to watch this show when I was a kid, always a car chase that ended in crash in some stack of carboard boxes in a alleyway and the badguys running away with Shatner just behind them.
  13. Cool to see that this one is getting close to being on the shelfs. I want one, just like I want pretty much any pickup kit. I will buy it and any other variations on the same basic tooling just like I have bought every version so far of the 67-72 kits.
  14. I got the chance to visit Gallery Aaldering in July and among the 360 cars on display was this one: http://www.gallery-aaldering.com/collection/mercedes-benz-600-sunroof-very-original-en/ Many nice shots of it one the site, looks great and for 110 000 Euros I'm only a 109 000 Euros short of buying it
  15. Things must be different on your side of the planet then. The seller that gave this to me had tried to sell it for 50 Kroner (6$ in today exchange rate) and had not been able to sell it. When I looked at the kit at the same time as buying a couple of others he said I could have that as a bonus on the deal. If Revell released them one could hope that the molds are not destroyed and that they could some day be reissued again.
  16. I have seen pusher-axle setups on more modern european trucks but did not know that is was also used in the states back in the day. On the modelside of thing I have just started a little work on a C-series kit, not AMTs one but a 1:87 (H0) one made in Denmark by Heljan Con-cor: I stole this picture from anohter site as I do not have any pictures of the kit myself yet but I will post some of it later. It is a neat little kit with tilting cab and moving ramps on the trailer. I got it for free when I bought some other kits at the Norwegian Challenge modelshow some weeks ago. And here is a picture of a built one: http://www.87thscale.info/models_by_Jean-Marc_Bergez.htm
  17. Ooohh..that works for me. I just don't care that I already have several unbuilt of this kit in my stash. I'm going to buy this one aswell.
  18. Thank you for posting a link of my thread I had a blast building and correcting details on this SL. If only Revell/Monogram would do a reissue of this... You are doing some nice work on this one. As others have said already, this can be anything from 1971 up to 1989 with only minor detailchanges over the years. I do think the model is a early one because the steeringwheel has "ribs" on the hornbuttons. You can see a later one here: And here you can see more of the interior of a later car: As you can see, not a lot of changes over the years. Looking at yours, the way you are building it you could claim it to be both a 70s car and a 80s car. Here is another one for inspiration, the AMG SL:
  19. Apparently it is a Chevrolet Sportvan ca 1965: https://www.chevyhardcore.com/news/top-5-chevy-vans-of-all-time-2-the-mystery-machine/ It does have some resemblance to the Dodge A100 and Ford Econline of the same time aswell. I don't have the kit myself so I can't say anything about it but looking at the pictures of it and the real vans give me the feeling that it would do well with some extra details like a grille and some trim along the sides. The sparetire on the front is more VW bus.
  20. Yeah, you have seen them around haven't you? That old truck or car that sits there behind a fence or some bushes for years on end. Just waiting for someone to come along and save it. Or maybe the owner is one of those guys that refuses to sell it, with a plan on fixing it up for himself.
  21. Thank you, don't you just get that "I want to rescue it" feeling? Thank you very much, the outside pictures where shot in kind of hurry as it was quite cold and windy outside. This old Monogram kits are a bit on the simple side but they are also fun to build. Thank you, sure he will get it running. I may need a biohazzard suit before he sits in it though Thank you very much, I'm no expert at it and it is all just an experiment but I tried to make it look rusty where it should be rusty from my own experience with cars. Thank you, I was also thinking of "buying a dead horse" I was trying to make it look like a tree had fallen on it and did also have plans to make the tree but did not get a convincing tree out of anything I had. Beyond saving? Maybe so Thank you, oregano works great for leaves and it makes the model smell of pizza for a couple of weeks. Yeah, that stink will never go out of it Deadish.... Slightly dead... One of my inspirations for this build was all of the youtube videos of people rescuing vehicles that have sat for a long time. This one I came across a while ago: And since I'm a fan of 60s Dodge trucks I have looked at these videos MAAANY times: The can all be rescued as long as the right enthusiast comes along
  22. I for one think it is great news that Revell is not dead and buried. Great news indeed
  23. Thank you very much Thank you, that is a great suggestion for a name, I like it
  24. Great looking truck. All it needs is a little dust and grime on the wheels and chassis. I know what you have had to work with on this thing, one of the many projects on my bench is the very same kit but I'm building a 4x4 F150 flareside, lifted with bigger wheels and tires. I have stranded the projects several times in the almost three years I have been working on it.
  25. Ohh..yes. I want to display this in next weekends Norwegian Challenge show. I want it to go in to the theme class, this year the theme is Wildlife. But I'm not sure what to call it yet. Maybe "Flogging a dead horse" or "Beating on a dead horse" or reviving a dead horse". Any ideas and comments are appreciated
