  1. Those look more like Pontiac RallyII wheels than 500s. Is this the look youre going for?
  2. The Revell Foose version of the '67 Coronet R/T has a set of the big billet Magnum 500 style wheels. Maybe too big, they look to be 22 inch or larger. I'd go measure them but I already traded the ones away I had. To big for anything even I build.
  3. Scale Finishes has it listed. I have used a few of thier paints and they work well. Thier "outside USA" distributor is my local hobby shop here in Fredericton and Scott's a good guy to deal with too.
  4. I was just wondering because the ones in that pic were done almost 2 years ago and don't show any yellowing at all yet.
  5. Just out of curiosity ,, How long until it starts to yellow?
  6. Exactly. And the foil mold doubles as the reflector if you want. I use a soft pencil eraser to press the foil down on and around the kit lens to get as much detail from it as possible. I made about 3 dozen in about a 1/2 hour one afternoon.
  7. Thanks for the advice David but I think you misunderstood what I meant about the paint. The Honda color blue on the spoon is exactly the paint I'm using on my 1/1 when I repaint it in a few months. It just doesn't show the true color in the pic I posted. This pic shows the color pretty accurately on my monitor.
  8. Looks great Steve. Black really suits those cars and the chrome makes it pop.
  9. I'll be using 1/25 MPC kits. Not much to show yet. I'm using the body from an '82 kit as it's a hardtop and all the other MPC 3rd gen Firebirds are T-tops. Other than that, the body from the '82 and '85 kits are almost identical. The only difference I can see it they added the small triangles in the front corners of the side windows on the '85 that were missing from the '82. Mine has the common vented hood that came in every MPC Firebird kit after '85. I used the one originally in the kit on another build a couple years ago so I pirated one from a '90 kit. Unfortunately, these hoods aren't exactly "square" so the vents and creases aren't centred and don't line up properly with the front bumper cover. You can see in the pic how I added some material on the sides and files some away in places to get it lined up properly. I'm also adding the peak down the center that is missing from the kit parts. My car also has the "Aero Wing" on the back instead of the regular flat wing. This is another part that isn't exactly correct so I'm adding a strip made from the flat wing to correct it. , , And color test shot. It's a current Honda color called "Dyno Blue" . A bit more green/grey tint in real life than in this pic. Close to traditional "navy blue" and very similar to the original paint on the car but in pearl instead of a solid color.
  10. This is not the Wraith ,, it's the "Black Moon". from the movie "Black Moon Rising". This is "The Wraith" ,, actually a PPG Indy Pace car with a highly modified Dodge 4 cylinder engine.
  11. It should be fine. The only colors of plastic I've had bleed through the paint are the hot colors like red, orange and yellow, I've never had a problem with black.
  12. Wasn't AMT still owned by Racing Champions last time those two kits were reissued? That was 2000 and 2004. I never thought I'd see this kit reissued but I can't wait to get one.
  13. When they put it back to stock, they forgot to redo the creases around the wheel openings. Easy enough to fix if you really wanted to though.
  14. I used a Chevy manifold but I turned it backward so the runners would look closer to correct then I trimmed some off the back. After you get everything in there with an air cleaner and whatnot you can't really see much of the manifold anyway. BTW, the Little Red Express truck kit has a big block in it, not a small block like it should.
  15. Here's the engine in my '69 Beaumont convertible. Just used a parts box tunnel ram dual quad manifold with a scratch built injectors and fuel rails and air box on top.
  16. true, but all the people I mention use their actual everyday speaking voices, not affected "American" accents.
  17. John Roberts,, White House correspondent for Fox News and and was an anchor at CNN? Better known here in Canada in the '80s as J.D. Roberts, VJ at Muchmusic [Canada's version of MTV] and host of their heavy metal show,"The Power Hour".
  18. It's funny, with so many Canadian actors on TV and in movies, that so many people think we all talk with those stereotypical accents. You want to know how most Maritimers talk? Listen to Donald Southerland Shannon Tweed or Gordon Pincent Someone from Ontario? Kaenu Reeves , Dan Akroyd, John Candy, Jim Cary, From the Praries?,, Leslie Nielson, John Vernon, Tricia Hefler, Monty Hall, Natasha Henstridge from BC ? Michael J.Fox, Jason Priestley, Pam Anderson, Seth Rogen, Raymond Burr, and of corse Bill Shatner from Montreal, but maybe not a good example, Eh? Not an "oot or aboot" in the bunch unless they're making fun at themselves ,, which as Canadians, we tend to do.
  19. Looks cool Irv. I've always liked the look of that car. If I could find a copy of the front and rear custom parts I'd do one with the newer kit. Looks to me that the older kits got the lines of the rear 1/4s more correct than the new one though.
  20. Here's a few from north of the border for ya. Bo, '69 Camaro from "Lost Girl" Jake's '68 GTO from "Republic of Doyle" They had 2 for the show and they did not baby them Matt Shade's sweet early 911 from "Private Eyes" Vecchio's Riviera from "Due South"
  21. They're Cragar "GT Plus" wheels. Shelby used them on some GT 350s around '66. They also did a version with the steel rim and aluminum center as opposed to the all aluminum in this old ad. They started selling them again as the "500" IIRC. The version available currently
  22. I'm kinda late to the party on this one but,, My vote would have been the saddle bronze. One of my uncles had a '67 Cutless in about that color and it had an aqua interior. Never repainted, it came from the factory in that color scheme.
  23. I started this one about 14 years ago, never got past this point for some reason.
  24. Not sure they could reissue it, I think the chassis and some other parts are under the last version of the '72 longbox. , , BUT if they did reissue it I'd hope they'd correct those rear fenders, BTW, the blue custom "Rolling Thunder" uses the same bed but they added that funky sleeper over it.
