  1. No problem. I seem to have developed a wheel fetish over the years. Yes, I'd say they're the same as the front wheels in the Vette kit. The back side of them may be completely different though. I've never had one of those SVO kits. Sorry, I don't know of anyone casting them at the moment.
  2. I think Molotov would be great to put on a set of unplated Crager wheels Sorry, couldn't rezest myself. ?
  3. They're Kelsey-Hayes [ET] Kelstars. https://bringatrailer.com/2017/11/13/for-just-about-anything-nos-kelsey-hayes-kelstar-15x7/
  4. Try this, https://www.rocketfin.com/model-king-david-burket.cfm
  5. There's a few of us who know who your referring to Kevin. I doubt it'll ever be brought up by him.
  6. Ken, "Model King" is Dave Burket. One of the major kit retailers in the eastern US. He's partnered up with some of the big kit companies like Rc2 [sold out to Round2], Revell/Monogram and Mobius to do some special run kits in the past.
  7. Finally got around to polishing out the paint last weekend.
  8. I'm pretty sure that's just the older Caddy engine from the earlier kits in the DeVilles. The engines in the Eldorados are all Olds engines from the Toronados with "CADILLAC" script added to the valve covers.
  9. That's where I got the idea from.
  10. IIRC, no one makes one right now. Kitchen Table Resin did kinda have one at one time. I made up the valve covers for it and gave instructions on how to modify a 429 big block Ford engine to look close but he didn't do the mods to the Ford engine before casting it, just cast the Ford engine with the Caddy valve covers included.
  11. I get ya. The lovely Mrs. Can-Con has it on Big Bang all the time for background noise. It's not that I don't like the show or don't find it funny but I've seen every episode at least 6 times. ?
  12. The kit was originally tooled up in the early/mid '60s, chroming the engine was "a thing" back then. A lot of those old kits have a chromed engine. The wheel backs were chromed because the kit originally came with a set of chromed rings to use with the backs to form a pretty nice set of chromed reverse wheels for the custom version.
  13. Got a smart TV and multiple streaming services. There's always something on I haven't seen before. If I don't want to see it I don't watch it, simple as that. Is someone holding you captive and forcing you to watch these shows, Rick? [blink once for yes, twice for no]?
  14. I can't add anything to what the others have said ,,just incredible.
  15. What "chrome" exactly? I see that's a hood from an AMT '63 Vette, I know those hoods didn't come chrome plated in the box.
  16. RMR does a '65 hardtop. That's about as close as I've found. He casts when ordered so everything on the site says "out of stock" but contact him. https://rmrmodels.com/
  17. If you wanted to go that way, the '56 would be even closer.
  18. Did a little work on the cab. Got the awful "add-ons" removed. The top of the windshield frame was damaged by all the glue so I'll be repairing that along with the back of the cab roof and front edge of the hood. All glue damaged. I also started fitting one of my resin GMC grille surrounds. I managed to get 3 copies out of the mold, that should be enough to do me for a while. One for this truck, one for a replica of my brother in laws [who's passed] truck that will be a gift to his daughter and one left. I think I'll refine that one and make it fit the new kits and cast a few copies of that.
  19. How much room do you need? Would sanding it down to about 1/2 it's current height get you there?
  20. I know he would have been blown away by it. ,, Just incredible. I really wish he could have seen all this and known just how much he meant to the community. I know he was feeling down and not appreciated and I'm sure if he could have seen all this it would have meant the world to him. In one of the last e-mails I got from him about a day before he passed he told me , ,"It's hell not feeling missed or appreciated." ,, But he was appreciated but just didn't know the extent of it. I really wish he could have seen this and kudos to all of you who've taken time to make a response in any of the active threads. I'm sure he looking down from somewhere smiling. ?
  21. That's looking great Kyle. Coming along nicely. As for the air cleaner, there's a couple things you can try, First is cutting the carb down a little. You usually can't see the top of them when the air cleaner's on so it's not noticeable. You could also carefully drill out the underside center of the ait cleaner a bit. I'd use a bit slightly larger then the top of the carb and be vary careful not to go through it. You just want it so the carb will sit slightly up in the hole. Easiest to just cut down the carb, I've done it several times.
  22. I'd like to see a '67 Galaxie or a '66 Bonnie too but don't fool yourselves gentlemen, A '68 Impala is where the money's at for '60s full size cars. The lowrider crowd alone could keep the inventory exhausted for years. BTW, I don't need another one, I got mine.
  23. Keven informed me Friday morning and it was really hard to keep quiet for the last several days but we were asked not to let it known at the time. Build on Snake.
  24. I'm afraid Snake isn't coming back. He passes early last Friday morning, Khils and a few others of us are working up a short memorial post that should be up shortly.
