  1. Just an FYI, Bart, All 3rd gen Camaros and Firebirds used the same mirrors. Probably easier to find.
  2. It's in some of the reissues. Looks more like air bags though. IIRC, the latest reissue has a lot of the Kart parts in it.
  3. That sounds like a very "Reliable" seller. ?
  4. Another vote here for leaving the hood alone. If you close up the gap you very well may end up with problems with fit after painting, as Tony said.
  5. First, Love '29 Fords, they're my favorite hot rods. So, yes, some odd things with that kit like the Dodge hemi and other assorted bits. It's because the kit was originally a double kit with the Barris "Ala Kart" as the second kit. Eventually the AlaKart was dropped but a large amount of it's parts , such as it's engine body parts et. were left in the kit.
  6. Pretty sure the '70s term you're thinking of Craig is "resto rod" ,, "resto mod" is a much newer term usually applied to muscle cars set up in the style you're referring to as opposed to the pre-'40s cars. ?
  7. I don't think rarity is what keeps people from building it. It could have possibilities but first thing I'd have to do would be get rid of those 4X4 fender flares.
  8. Thanks everyone. I really appreciate all the nice comments on my little truck. ??
  9. I'm afraid I can't take credit for those, Michael. Those come with the 454SS kit and were pretty well welded on the body when I got the truck. I just cleaned it up a bit and painted them with the body. ?
  10. With great difficulty, Will. ? Seriously though it was the one thing on truck that gave me the most grief. I first sprayed the whole truck with the silver, then airbrushed the magenta on there the strip would be. Then I layed down the strip with 1/64" fine line masking tape and resprayed the silver. Then I masked off everything else that wasn't supposed to be white and sprayed that. Should have been easy but I had to go back and re-mask and respray everything a few times to get it 1/2 decent. I do have a few things I'd do different next time though.
  11. Looks great Bob. Did they do the whole seat or just the seating surfaces?
  12. My truck is now finished and posted in the under glass section.
  13. Truck's now finished and posted in the under glass section
  14. Not perfect but I think it turned out pretty good for a rebuilt junker.
  15. Yea, no clue what you mean. You asked why would someone want to build that kit. My answer was that it would be the same reason someone would want to build any other kit, regardless of our likes or dislikes. I would never want to build a new Bronco kit or that Barris rickshaw thingy but I wouldn't ask why someone else would want to. Seemed to me you were dismissing those who would want to build the kit. If I misunderstood, I apologies.
  16. I don't know much about Jeeps but would this be it?
  17. Same reason anyone would want to build any other model kit. Just because you don't like the car doesn't mean no one else likes it either. ?
  18. So, what kind of car kits do your teenagers and their friends build Michael? Might be good for the model companies to know what kind of models would sell to the younger generation to get them interested in building models.
  19. Same reason anyone would want to build any other model kit. Just because you don't like the car doesn't mean no one else likes it either. ?
  20. What's wrong with the wheels? ?
  21. That's what I thought too but I did look through the site several times and didn't find them. Out of stock maybe?
  22. Got mine at my local hobby shop months ago.
  23. The grille from the MPC van should fit the AMT one with no problems. Nice it itself, BTW. Wish Round2 would reissue this one, it's a very nice, well detailed kit.
  24. BTW, Joe, I shot an e-mail off to Mark whos does the "Wheels are Everything" blog asking him about his wheels, I'll post when [if?] I get a reply. I've had e-mail conversations with him before and he's actually featured on '62 Chrysler on his blog so I do expect a reply at some time.
