Like Les said above, 99% Isopropyl alcohol should do the trick. Just moisten a cotton ball or piece of paper town and bub until all the paint is off.

Rodded '32 Chevy delivery
Can-Con replied to Can-Con's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
OK, so, Here's a pic of the Cabriolet fender unit with the exhaust holes filled with a piece of sprue. ,,And here's the primed body sitting on the primed fender unit with the spare tire wells that came in the kit. I'm flip/flopping on which fenders I want to use now. as well on paint and engine choices. ? Thinking about the hopped up strait 6 from the AMT '51 Chevy now and deep metallic brown for paint but ??? Also, the like new rear doors a friend sent me for the project. -
Upcoming MPC Reissues - '79 Nova and '73 Cougar
Can-Con replied to Justin Porter's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Here ya go Dan. The round headlight grille is from my MPC '78 re-builder. As you can see, the bezels for the round headlights are a lot larger then the square ones. The grilles them selves look to be the same height. I guess you could modify the ends of the fenders, hood and filler panel between the grille and bumper so the piece could fit but it would be a lot of fiddly work. -

Dan, the square headlights were only on the '79 cars. All others had the round headlights. -
Do we have release/shipping info on the AMT Mach Won funny car?
Can-Con replied to Monty's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Cougar might work. I know the Revell '69 won't work, curvature is wrong. Tried it on my AMT '70. Ended up cutting down one from a Monogram 1/24 '70. -

Um, guys, where would it come back from? No '76/'77 Grand Prix model was ever made.

Late '60s - early '70s 1:1 GM car paint question
Can-Con replied to Monty's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
They are not exactly the same colors, Monty. War Bonnet Yellow is a unique Corvette color. You can check here. It gives you a lot of codes for the colors so you can cross reference and it also gives some pics. https://paintref.com/index.shtml Placer gold https://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcodedisplay.cgi?color=Placer Gold&tditzler=2339&rows=50 War bonnet yellow https://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcodedisplay.cgi?type=sample&ditzler=2351&syear=1971&smanuf=GM&smake=GM&smodel=&sname=War Bonnet Yellow&name=corvette19712351a&scomm=Corvette -
Thanks for posting that Dennis. Those are for the factory Chevy SS caps. I was hoping they would have put in a set specifically to replicate the actual Cragar caps. Oh well.

"Scalemates" motto should be "Some of the info, some of the time, sometimes correct ,, but not always". ?

Dennis, could you post a pic of the new decal sheet please? I'm hoping it has decals for the centers of the Cragars. I's do a trade with you but it looks like it would cost both of us over $20 each just for the shipping. ?

WHATS GOING ON HERE?
Can-Con replied to CaddyDaddy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That was never in question Dennis. I was ONLY referring to MY OWN car which does not have any computers. I don't know how that could have been mistaken that I was referring to ALL 3rd gen F-bodies but it seems it did. I think Sean and I have the misunderstanding straitened out ? -

WHATS GOING ON HERE?
Can-Con replied to CaddyDaddy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Sean, why on earth are you arguing with me about this. NO, I did not buy the car new. I DID buy this carb and installed it. It's exactly the same as the one I took off except it has all the missing linkages and choke that the old one didn't. Also, it's a Canadian car. Canadian LG4 engines didn't get the CCC system. It doesn't matter anyway, I said "MY CAR" , not '85 Trans Ams in general or any other cars,, "MY CAR". Sorry if you mis-understood my post, I was only talking about MY CAR, which I do know and understand what is under THAT hood. -

Yes, it's an HEI distributor. I didn't say it wasn't, I said my car does not have any computers in it. [copied directly from my posts above ,,,] "No computers in my '85 Trans Am, Bill. The most advanced piece of electronics in the whole car is the cassette deck. ?" "Mine is an HEI ignition but the earlier version with no electronics added." -

Lost another very funny guy.RIP Richard Lewis, passed away @76
Can-Con replied to NYLIBUD's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
For a long time a lot of people believed that the first part of Billy Joel's song "My Life" was referring to Richard Lewis but Joel has said it's actually about Tony Lawrence. "Got a call from an old friend, we used to be real close Said he couldn't go on the American way Closed the shop, sold the house, bought a ticket to the West Coast Now he gives them a stand-up routine in LA" My favorite Richard Lewis bit is from 2&1/2 men. Just perfect. ? -
I'd say the ones in Scott's pics are the '40 Ford ones then because the center caps are different.

Could be '70/'80s issue AMT '40 Ford coupe and Sedan Delivery or '57 Chevy. Both kits had KKs like that.
