  1. Not the same Steve, but, Spotlight Hobbies now offers a plating service. IIRC, a rack like in Steve's pic above would be $35 plus shipping. That is about what I paid the last few times I sent racks to LMKC for plating. IIRC, Steve uses Kustom Khrome. Not sure if they're still in business but I'd imagine Steve will fill us in about that.
  2. Taken in 2009
  3. Super job, Tom. Nice to see one with the windshield pillars foiled correctly.๐Ÿ˜‰ I owned a '76 coupe with the Landau trim when I was 19. Great drive-in movie car. ๐Ÿ˜ˆ
  4. Chassis is ready to go except for the shocks. I know it looks severely low with the bodywork on but rest assured the ride height and wheel travel would be more than adequate for a few quick laps around a track or a spirited drive on a winding road. Here's a look at my scratch made rack and steering linkage.
  5. It's a '69. The front bumper and fenders are quite a bit different then a '70.
  6. Built this one from an old Junker right around the time Lindberg reissued it. It wasn't so easy to find back then as it was out of circulation for over 20 years. That was almost 20 years ago, now have 3 more unbuilt in the stash.
  7. I've never really been a fan of the '56s but yours looks great. Love the colors and the Cragars. ๐Ÿ‘
  8. Yea, I forgot about the parts count. Too bad as the could easily just put the grille and suspension from the upcoming Jimmy in there and market it as Jethro Gibb's GMC 4X4 truck from the new NCIS spinoff. ๐Ÿ˜
  9. Humm, this is a pic from the set of season 5. Could it possibly be?? 212inches ,, math works out to 215 MM, 6mm difference? [someone check my math please] would that be close enough to the expected length? I think my money'd be on this.
  10. Same here. That's where all the pics I've posted in this thread came from.
  11. Yup, and I bet that Gal wasn't even in the showrooms yet when they made the movie.
  12. 2 or 3 really good zingers in there Bill but if I posted them I'd alienate myself to a large number of my U.S. friends and possible get banned to boot. ๐Ÿ˜†
  13. Here's one from one of my favorite movies, bonus points if you know which movie the pics are from. The remake of the movie can't hold a test tube to the original.
  14. Chassis is almost done. Need to add the front uprights, make a steering rack and tie it all together so the wheels are poseable. But anyway, here it is in color. Haven't decided on the shock color, leaning towards yellow. Also thinking about a very light beige for the engine and tranny. All that bare aluminum just doesn't do it for me.
  15. I have a bottle of sub-lime too [limelight] and it looks right to me. One of my uncles had a limelight '71 Demon right before I got my driver's license. Your Porsche looks like what I picture go-green as but a little lighter. The can I have looks even darker then the Dart in this pic. I know different screens will make it look different depending on the settings but the can I have just looks too dark, even in bright sunlight. Like I said, I'm just chalking it up to a bad can. I'll probably just live with it, maybe I'll like it better after it's clearcoated.
  16. I have a can of the Testors "green go" that I've been saving for the right car. I sprayed my '71 Demon with it but it came out much darker then it should be. Guess I got a bad can.
  17. All you need from that is the box, Gerry. Just get the chassis from the longbox '88-/90 kit and cab parts from the extended cab kit and it all fits together like it was made for it ,, which I suspect it was. No need to fool around with the short chassis if you can get a longbox chassis plate.
  18. Vinyl tops on large cars. I even like the "SimCon" style on some '70s and '80s full size 2 door luxury cars like the Caddy Phaetons and some Continentals.
  19. Not exactly my favorite as I have no favorite but,, Just to be random, anyone else remember this "Doctor's" Buick Electra? ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‰
  20. Combo for sure and a popular kit bash back then. Easy to do if you have all the kits. '88-'90 longbox for the chassis. Also gives the poseable steering engine and underhood detail parts. Extended cab snap fast plus for the cab and interior. and the stepside for the bed. Everything was designed to interchange and fits perfectly. The hood is even separate and the engine bay molding is pretty well the same as the glue kits so all the parts from both the regular or SS454 kits fit . BTW, you could just shorten the snap chassis but it has the engine underside molded into it same as the promo chassis.
  21. That's what I always use. I've even used it to glue together painted pickup boxes with no problems.
  22. As long as they're not computer generated.๐Ÿ™„ [are we in trouble yet?]
