  1. AMT Phantom Vicky will give you a good chassis with independent front suspension but not forward slanting. It'll get you pretty close though. It's been released a few times so should be pretty easy to find.
  2. Well Carl, lets see , , , Dropping the cowl itself wouldn't affect the hood fit. The issue will be when I add the photoetch wipers. If I don't do this the wipers may hold the hood up when it's done. The suspension wasn't bad to adapt to this application. Just had to make sure I kept it all square and symmetrical. There was some trial and error with it as would be any time you adapt parts from one kit to another. Had to adjust the placement of the rear axle a couple times for height and wheelbase but it was expected.
  3. Name recognition pure and simple. For a lot of us the Jo-Han name is not " an old tired one that's left a bad taste in people's mouth" but one that you know while there's a %99 chance that the chassis, engine etc. is lacking you're gonna get a body that's more accurate then most of the North American stuff that's been made in the last 40 years.
  4. That car was in the news a couple years ago. https://art-for-a-change.com/blog/2022/11/last-generation-attacks-andy-warhol-bmw.html
  5. Just go to their website and take a pic of the 40% off any item coupon with your phone and show them the pic at the checkout. I do it whenever I buy a model there. Or just go to the website on your phone while in the store, works just fine also. Works out to about 30 bucks.
  6. I'll be wanting to add photoetch wipers but there's not enough room between the hood and cowl as molded, so I'm dropping the cowl a little for room. First glued the firewall onto the cowl solidly just at the top edge. and cut the section out behind it flush with the back of the firewall. Then simply glued it back in slightly lower to make room for the wipers and added a thin strip across the bottom for the sheetmetal at the bottom of the glass on the real trucks. Not 100% correct to the 1/1 trucks but this truck isn't exactly "factory stock" anyway. I'm gonna let it sit for a while and trim the sheet off following the back edge of the hood before priming.
  7. This is also Tamiya pearl yellow but looks completely different. It's over bare plastic. Be aware though, being yellow, this paint is quite transparent and can under some circumstances have a green tint to it when used over grey primer.
  8. Good points Mark. I must admit, I did misread Greg's post and thought he was specifically asking about the '32/'33 kits.
  9. That was it but the roadster was out in a few more reissues, not the panel though. Possibly a couple more then pictured here..
  10. Try this site, Les. It's pretty comprehensive. https://paintref.com/index.shtml#google_vignette
  11. No worries. Could have gone either way. Wouldn't have been the first road legal NASCAR model built, just wondering. Great interior detail, BTW.
  12. I don't understand any of it myself but there's a lot [mostly?] decedents of Scotts, Irish and some Welsh in Atlantic Canada and they try to keep the languages alive here as best they can.
  13. Is this a NASCAR or street car ?
  14. Gaelic isn't uncommon around this part of Canada but I don't know anyone who speaks it at home.
  15. So I'm lazy. Don't let my boss know. πŸ˜‰
  16. This Revell Camaro as a set of Minilights that are almost exactly 15 mm at the rim lip. That would scale out to slightly under 14inches in 1/25. Might work for a 13 inch wheel in 1/24. As you can see they certainly look a bit too small on most 1/25 cars so maybe ???
  17. Old tool AMT '57 Chevy has always had a nice pair of plated chrome reverse rear wheels, but, I think any suitable wheel you find will have to be modified in some way, either for backspacing or attachment, probably both.
  18. Yea, that didn't take long to go off the rails. πŸ™„
  19. It's always been a nice kit. A couple odd choices for the custom parts like that super obscure B&M fuel injection setup and the wood bed floor. Don't believe I've ever seen an Elcamino with a wood bed in real life but it's different. As for the wheels, nice to see something besides another set of Torque Thrusts. They're a nice wheel but just done to death since the late '90s. The Halibrand style would be a common choice for when the kit was originally tooled up and they're great for other applications. [hint hint 😁]
  20. Just checked, , That's exactly what it is. πŸ‘
  21. Sorry to hear all that Ken but hoping this year will be a lot better.
  22. It is and the owner is a member here but that kit isn't currently in production. I have in the past contacted Kevin and bought an interior he wasn't doing right then so ??? Here's a link to their E-bay site but maybe someone here could get you in touch with him more directly on this board. ,IIRC, his last name is Lutz [?] https://www.ebay.ca/str/Missing-Link-Resin-cast-model-cars
  23. Missing Link did the whole car, not just the grille so they are out there. I doubt anyone's gonne just give one away though. πŸ˜‰
  24. Honestly Michael, I don't use the tags because when I come here I'm not usually searching for anything specific, just looking to be entertained by everyone's builds and maybe learn something new so I just do the "unread content" thing. Maybe there's a lot of other members in the same boat, I don't know. As for changes, I do like Les' idea of bikes with the cars and I've been an advocate of putting personal use pickups, vans and SUVs in there too as the great majority of the ones on the road now are private vehicles. [also nice for us who like to use them as hotrod and custom fodder] But I'm done tilting at that particular windmill. πŸ˜‰
  25. They're a great little kit, you can do a lot with them.
