Um, yea, I'm not gonna bother reading all that, Mike. I was just trying to state that I was just asking about the hood because Steve mentioned the wheels and tires but not the hood in his post. Simple as that. If I had seen that you had asked the same question right before I did I wouldn't have bothered making a post at all as you are obviously much better versed in these cars and know more about them then I've ever wanted to know.

Revell: Stranger Things; Billy´s Chevy Camaro

" However, if we keep accepting these mistakes, they will never improve." Yea, I've been hearing that like for , what, 40 or 50 years now. 🤨😁 -
"the stock ‘80-‘81 style hood will be the most difficult part to duplicate" Not for me. I have an old '80 rebuilder in the stash and a fully built '81. I also have almost full supply of resin and latex to make a mold and cast as many as I need from either hood I have so I'm good. Just wondering as he didn't mention the hood but did mention the stock wheels and tires.

How about the '80/'81 hood, Steve? The hood in the "Pro Street" box art version of the kit is the '78/'79 style.

Atlantis rolls out ex Revell 57 Chevy Nomad.
Can-Con replied to John M.'s topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Maybe we should do a build-off with this kit. , , , But it should be open for more then 2 days. 😉 This was one of the first "adult" car kits I "built" when I was 7 or 8. , , some others were ,, IMC Mustang Mach II loads of early '70s MPC annuals some Monogram show rods and MPC Zingers, A little bit of everything , you get the idea. I bet a lot of you [most?]could put up a very similar list. Not many of them ever actually got finished and a lot not even painted. But you know what? I never even cared. I was happy, it kept me entertained and I never gave up with the hobby. None of us would be here on this board if it wasn't for those old "unbuildable" kits of our youth that never got finished and/or ended up in the trash of against the wall. -

The outer side of each tail light is slightly longer on the outside then it is on the inside towards the tail gate. Maybe he got them mixed up side to side, didn't know the difference and tried to get them to line up, which they never would being reversed. -
What kit is this? 1st gen Mustang
Can-Con replied to fun9c1's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
That ,I do believe is an original AMT '66 Mustang annual hardtop/convertible. https://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/amt-instructions/automotive-cars--pi/ford/1961-1970/amt-1966-mustang-co/ -
Bill, let me take a look, I may have a set of used ones but I'm not sure I still have them. If I do, no problem with shipping. I'm in Fredericton N.B. so it shouldn't ne too bad. Sorry Bill. Just checked, no joy.

LOL, I was kinda wondering why you were having 4 Javelin front bumpers plated. 😉 -
Tamiya LP48 Sparkling silver for chrome?
Can-Con replied to dmthamade's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Not the same Steve, but, Spotlight Hobbies now offers a plating service. IIRC, a rack like in Steve's pic above would be $35 plus shipping. That is about what I paid the last few times I sent racks to LMKC for plating. IIRC, Steve uses Kustom Khrome. Not sure if they're still in business but I'd imagine Steve will fill us in about that. -

Super job, Tom. Nice to see one with the windshield pillars foiled correctly.😉 I owned a '76 coupe with the Landau trim when I was 19. Great drive-in movie car. 😈

Chassis is ready to go except for the shocks. I know it looks severely low with the bodywork on but rest assured the ride height and wheel travel would be more than adequate for a few quick laps around a track or a spirited drive on a winding road. Here's a look at my scratch made rack and steering linkage.

Who doesn't love a mock-up? Let's see yours!
Can-Con replied to Belairconvertable's topic in WIP: Model Cars
It's a '69. The front bumper and fenders are quite a bit different then a '70. -
Built this one from an old Junker right around the time Lindberg reissued it. It wasn't so easy to find back then as it was out of circulation for over 20 years. That was almost 20 years ago, now have 3 more unbuilt in the stash.

I've never really been a fan of the '56s but yours looks great. Love the colors and the Cragars. 👍

Revell: Stranger Things; Billy´s Chevy Camaro
Can-Con replied to Luc Janssens's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Yea, I forgot about the parts count. Too bad as the could easily just put the grille and suspension from the upcoming Jimmy in there and market it as Jethro Gibb's GMC 4X4 truck from the new NCIS spinoff. 😁 -

Humm, this is a pic from the set of season 5. Could it possibly be?? 212inches ,, math works out to 215 MM, 6mm difference? [someone check my math please] would that be close enough to the expected length? I think my money'd be on this. -

What is your NUMBER 1 favorite movie car
Can-Con replied to Thedragsterdude's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Here's one from one of my favorite movies, bonus points if you know which movie the pics are from. The remake of the movie can't hold a test tube to the original.- 174 replies
