  1. I was thinking the same thing. One of our local model car building icons, uses it all the time.
  2. I'll echo the thoughts of many others here. Display them in whatever manner suits your desires.
  3. Yep, perfectly legal to use FMC. EMT would have been better, but I didn't have any. See above.
  4. Wrapping up some wiring I'd wanted to get back to for the last couple of months, and that makes me feel just excellent.
  5. I'm naturally assuming green and red as the primary colors, with lots of presents, a Christmas tree, perhaps a snowman, and who knows what else. Just an idea I've been kicking around for a while now.
  6. It seems like a very nice model so far. It came with some just gorgeous tires too, but they're whitewalls, and I certainly won't be using them on this model, but I'll hang onto them for something else I'll eventually do. Lots of extra goodies too; welding tanks, wrenches and such.
  7. I understand totally, Brandon, but opening the hood just invites a ton of work, none of which I'm prepared to tackle at the moment. After I get a few finished projects under my belt (and on the shelves), I'll then probably consider an exposed engine, perhaps on a roadster, phaeton or coupe.
  8. Oh yea, there's always a few on feebay. It's certainly on my "to get" list, but not for a while probably. In a couple of weeks, I'll be ordering yet another Revell/Monogram '70 Challenger to use on a R/T convertible I've wanted to get started on.
  9. Thanks, fellas. Jim, I liked the semi gloss black contrast against the body color so much on a '69 GTX I'm also working on, is where the idea came from. I'm also thinking the yellow turn signals will show up better against the black. I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do. Tom, I think I'm a bit too obsessive about all this for my own good.
  10. Actually, mine is not too bad, flash wise. Besides, trimmed off flash mixed with some liquid cement, makes a great filler.
  11. Good tip. Thanks, Jim.
  12. Looks classy. I like it.
  13. Just flat black. In fact, it's already painted.
  14. My first Pumpkin. A little large perhaps, but I was just playing around here. Most of my sculpting tools are put away for the moment, so I just used a mechanical pencil instead. I'll obviously need to mount each individual Pumpkin, to be able to do more accurate work.
  15. I'll look forward to seeing this come together. I really like the Phaetons.
  16. There a Rockler store not too far from my house. It's my "go to" location for hunting down hardwoods.
  17. I think that green would be excellent.
  18. OK, the issues with orange peel are slowly being worked out. Here you can see that I've polished the heck out of the fender tops, but the hood still looks pretty grim. I think, just for the novelty of it, that I'm going to just paint the hood a semi gloss black and be done with it.
  19. Well, Joe, I'll probably end up scratch building the hay bales, bats and pumpkins, and I learned how to make a really cool ghost a few years back. Very little, if anything, other than a base, will be purchased, and I'll just grab one of those at HL, as they sell a dozen different sizes and styles.
  20. I like AMT kits for all the parts that are left over from different options.
  21. Real nice progress so far.
  22. The major components of the body. I find it a bit odd that there are no positive locators for the rear fenders, but I'll figure that out as I go along, I guess.
