  1. Cool stuff. I've had a particular weakness for the '29 Ford pickup for a while now, having built the Monogram version of the Blue Beetle several times in the past.
  2. Looks good to me so far. It looks like a nice kit too.
  3. OK, I thought I’d finally get a start on my first holiday vehicle (in this case a truck), by beginning my Halloween themed truck. For this project, I’ve selected the AMT ’53 Ford pickup. Colors will (naturally), be orange and black. I’ll depart from what I’ve generally been doing, by using Tamiya lacquers on it, as I‘ve seen others use it with such great results. When the entire display is done, I anticipate, at a minimum, bales of hay & pumpkins, perhaps a scarecrow, skeleton or ghost, a couple of headstones, and perhaps some bats as well. Fog might be nice too, using some Angel Hair or cotton; that will take some experimentation though. This will be an on again, off again project for me. If I had planned better, I would liked to have finished this before Halloween this year, but that doesn’t really seem doable at this point. I’ll also be doing a Christmas truck (amongst others), following similar concepts, but it will be finished by this Christmas, of that I’m quite confident.
  4. They look good to me, Joe. (I like the pickup in the background too.)
  5. I like it, proportions look pretty good to me. I've yet to try any body mods, but probably will eventually.
  6. I wen through all 25 pages; some pretty interesting stuff there. A buddy from another site built the big P-38M Night Lightning.
  7. Interesting car. I've not seen an Italeri model done yet, so I'll be real interested to see this one unfold.
  8. Never mind, I see now that it's supplied as a decal.
  9. I'm curious where the Charger emblem on the side of your roof came from. My kit certainly doesn't contain anything like that. Did you use some AM photo etch or something?
  10. I really like the GTX, so I'll be eyeballing this for sure.
  11. If I recall correctly, there are a couple of companies that make (or made) shuttle tile decals, and Fisher M&P makes some killer engines for the kit.
  12. Unfortunately, this seems to be all too common with Squadron sales. Most stuff on sale for a really decent price, is usually out of stock.
  13. Chassis all painted up now. Just flat black, and probably no detail painting at all, as curbside really doesn’t require it.
  14. OK, the inclusion of all the parts for the Pro Stock version, is a perfectly clear reason to use the other chassis. Thanks for the information. I'm not real sure if I'll ever do a Pro Stock Challenger, but if I do, I'll refer back to this thread. Thanks again.
  15. Very nice, very nice indeed. Yep, I mistook it for an old one.
  16. I've pretty much decided to cannibalize the wheel/tires from another project, for use on this car.
  17. I like that old tool box. My father had one very similar to it.
  18. Revell/Monogram makes two Challengers, one in 1:25 and one (the good one) in 1:24.
  19. Thanks. I'll be beginning the interior today, beige I think.
  20. I've generally had good luck with it (except for the ever present orange peel I always seem to get, no matter how minor), but the latest can I used went on milky in a lot of spots, dried OK though.
  21. Great, thanks. So, if they're very similar, who wouldn't a Challenger chassis work OK, or is the "Cuda chasis in the Revell or Johan kits just detailed better, and that's the reason someone would use it? I have a Revell Challlenger here, and as I recall, the chassis seemed OK, at least to me.
  22. I have no idea, that's why I asked the question. Did the real Challenger in the first post, use a 'Cuda chassis? I don't understand.
  23. That's certainly true enough. I realize a lot of car models are overdone in that respect, but it seems to be something that many (myself included) shoot for, regardless.
