That's a killer build, Marc! The Testors purple and silver lacquers, were they the ones from the One Coat line?

It's obviously the work of a child ... the model and the video. And it was posted here for adults to ridicule. Wow. I thought I was a tool.

Lots of stories circulating. I've heard the tool was intentionally damaged because employees were unhappy over Revell moving its business to another molding facility.

There won't be any new shipments of this kit for awhile. It's my understanding the tooling has been damaged and the kit is expected to be out of production for some time.

The blower setup in the '62 Corvette gasser has basically the same configuration.

Not sure if this has been covered here or not, but this is for anyone building the blown SBC in the new Revell '30 Ford coupe ... the instructions incorrectly show the blower drive belt (part 136) mounting upside down. The end with the tensioner pulley attaches to the blower.

You should post those pics on TD's Facebook page. He likes seeing build-ups of the models he designed and usually takes the time to comment on them.

Exactly. The Grim Reaper can be easily spotted in its various guises by those weird-looking square fork tubes.

The Grim Reaper actually originated as a Monogram tool. It has been reissued many times in different guises, one of them being the "Freedom Chopper."

This being a custom ( and a gorgeous one at that,) color choices for the various components are determined by the builder's individual tastes. It's quite common to see 1:1 vehicles like this one at car shows with the front and rear axles painted accent colors.

I have it on very good authority that the Pacer wagon will have both the stock and custom parts.

I don't have any insider info, but I would expect it to be done to about the same detail level as the Starsky & Hutch Torino. Not a bad thing, IMO.

The old Revell tri-five Chevy kits are real handfuls.

I don't know this for a certainty, but it would appear the '57 Ford gasser kit will be a replica of a car built by D&M Corvette, the outfit that built the '62 Corvette gasser upon which Revell's kit was based.
