Bruce, that looks great!! I would love to do a LW car but can't get the nerve up to do one. I am currently working on a Tamiya R35 with a set of Hobby Design TE37s. It is the OEM Katsura Orange ( not cleared yet in pic below,) which is close to your color on your build. Keep up the good work.

Thanks guys!!

This definitely looks sick. Love the dual blowers

Thanks Blake. Yes The engine bay will be fully detailed once the clear is laid down. I just wanted to get all of the carbon down on the body in preparation to have clear put on.
-
Thank you. No clear has been laid down yet. They are a Semi gloss finish on the paper. Should look well with some 2k clear over them.

I got the rear spoiler and mirrors done tonight. Let me just say, I’d rather get kicked in the nuts and do the front or rear splitter on the previous R34 Pennzoil build I just finished.
-
Lol thank you! It’s a lot of work, but worth it.

I got a little work done this morning. Since the Studio 27 decals are junk I again made my own out of Tamiya Decals. I got the grille and lower spoiler completed. I still have to decal the rear spoiler and I think that will be it on the exterior carbon decals.
-
Let me start off saying the Studio 27 precut carbon decals that I bought for the R35 suck. They were not in any way easy to handle and were stiff as a board. So I made my own from Tamiya Extra Fine Weave Carbon. Much happier with the results. I sprayed the roof, a pillars and spoiler in Splash Paints Beluga Black. I still have to use the Studio 27 decals for templates to make my own for the spoiler tomorrow after work. But here is a quick shot of what I got tonight. Keep in mind the tape marks on the panel line will disappear once cleared and panel line accent is put on

Thanks Dann! Trying to decide on going with carbon on the lower side skirts and front and rear bumpers.

I decided to go with the smaller simple logo on the wheels. It looks a little cleaner in my opinion. I also realized I didn’t have the pins on the calipers that hold the brake pads in painted. I finally got around to taping up and painting the front bumper as well. I am extremely pleased with the way this turned out. Again, Tamiya tape is awesome, I never expected the complex shape of this to turn out so clean. Tomorrow I will try to get the roof and spoiler painted black in preparation for the carbon decals.

Love the color. Super clean build! -
Super clean build. Great color combo, and nice detailing.

Thanks Dann. I'm on the fence about the decals. As much as I love the classic "Rays Engineering" and large text "Volk," I can't decide on these or just the one simple Volk Racing Decal as pictured below.

Here is a teaser of the wheels after some color. I only got the chance to detail one tonight, so I still have 3 more to go. Loving my decision on the color for these.

Thank you Dann. The darker definitely compliments the orange. Hopefully I can get them sprayed this even, well at least the base coat anyway. Thank you Leslie!

I haven’t had too much time at the bench this week, between working and trying to get my truck and my wife’s daily cleaned up and being occupied by my dog. I did get the bottom of the body taped and sprayed in Gunmetal. I can never say it enough, I love Tamiya Tape. It never lets me down. I still have to tape the front bumper up and spray it as well. I will try to get this done tomorrow evening after work. I also sprayed a couple of test spoons for the wheel color. The spoon on the back is sprayed over a white base, and the one up front is sprayed over a black base. I think I will use the darker bronze pictured up front.

Thank you Peter!

Just joined up on your FB group. Looking forward to checking it out bud!

Thank you Dann. I didn't get as much done yesterday as I wanted due to washing my truck and my wife's daily. Nice 57 degree winter day that I had to take advantage of, lol. I still have to fit and fix the opposite side wheels and they will be ready for paint. I can't wait to lay down the color on these to see how they are going to look. I also don't know if I am going to go with a Semi gloss or possibly leave them glossy. I will have to do a couple of test spoons with semi gloss, gloss and dullcote to see what looks the best.

Lol. I have used a good bit of other products that they offered. But this is my actual first set of wheels that weren't aggravating and had hardly any clean up on them to be done.
