  1. I'd like to know what differences between the following kits I could expect to find... THIS IS AMT821... THIS IS AMT849... (YOU CAN IGNORE THE FACT THAT IT'S MOLDED IN YELLOW)
  2. Model Roundup just announced receipt of some very nice looking resin wheels that have been chromed by SEL. (In the case of the Rally 2 wheels, the center is not chromed - just the trim ring). Has anyone had any experience with these wheels? I'm asking because I've had very little success with resin wheels and tires, and yet, they same to be all the rage...
  3. I have to admit that my technique had good intentions - however, I have had to do some dumpster diving to find a part I thought I had removed. So, I'll take the blame for this stupidity... and will no longer dump sections of my sprues. I have thoroughly learnt my lesson... Thank you for helping me see my error.
  4. The chassis is a completed module in my build, and as I do so, I remove sections of the sprue so that I don't have to look at them again. So, this part of the sprue is gone. However, I have included a scan of the page, and you can compare it to yours to see if the door is on your copy...
  5. It's not ambition but rather experience (none) with that type of thing that makes me hesitate... and the fact that I have a ton of kits that I can build, and don't want to buy 2 kits and get 1 for my investment!
  6. Thanks for all the help, Christian! I'm glad I asked!
  7. Yes, happens all the time here - even when I've done my search first and came up with nothing in this category - must have somehow missed this thread. Oh, and I noticed on one of the old boxes that "Styline" was for "young designers"... no wonder it's a curbside... don't want to scare those youngsters right out of the hobby!
  8. Thanks guys! I have enough info to make a purchase decision, now!
  9. LOOKING FOR A CRITICAL REVIEW OF THIS KIT...
  10. And not, I take it, one of the more modern toolings from the 80's and 90's?
  11. Please let me know how old this kit is and whether you found the kit to be in pretty good or horrible condition - don't spare any punches - your info could decide whether I'll buy one or not. Thanks! Here's a photo of the kit box...
  12. Chicago Airbrush Supply handles the FBS line... http://www.chicagoairbrushsupply.com/aist.html
  13. Just to let everyone know, I decided to remove the part below the hood and add a scratchbuilt door in the open position. It looks real good!
  14. That's good news! Thanks!
  15. How about the kit itself... does it still look as pristine as its forebear?
  16. Model Roundup has them for $13.90! Hobbylinc has them for $12.16!
  17. This was a "new tool" when released in 2000... It was re-released by Round 2 as this kit... Did the R2 release change drastically from the original release?
  18. I'd be interested to see photos of this old stuff... please!?
  19. Aside from it being 1:24 with a rather plain exterior, my final model's still a looker...
  20. OK - then my kit was not just a hiccup, in that this kind of thing had been noticed as a trend. That answers my question! Thanks!
  21. There isn't even a diagram of one in the hood section of the instructions!
  22. That's not what the "street machine" version looks like - this looks more like my R/T kit! As you can clearly see in the box photos, there is a pop-up vent, but nothing for it in the kit, and without it, there is a very noticeable hole in the hood!
  23. I just started working on this kit... (please click on the thumbnail to get a better look at the hood) I had finished the other version of this kit about a year ago. I fully expected to find a part that simulates the flip-up vent for the air cleaner, but I've looked over the parts trees and the instructions and have not been able to find one. (BTW, the part below the hood is included, but there is no extension for above the hood. And without this part, there is just a strange looking hole in the hood!) Can anyone here tell me if AMT just forgot to include it? (It is clearly shown in the box photos!)
  24. More reasons to replace this Roarunner with a newly tooled 1:25!
