Wife's 56 year old brother has dementia a severely withered arm from nerve damage in his neck and now cancer and is in a nursing home. We rehomed his dogs to the same family but no shelters have room for cats and we had no luck rehoming them. I relented and let the wife bring home 9 year old Abbygail home. She is some type of pure breed we will know from the Vet who has her records. She is overly talkative and LOUD!!!

What non-auto model did you get today?
OldTrucker replied to chunkypeanutbutter's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Found these at a yard sale in the middle of nowhere today! Farmer said his former hand whom he fired left a bunch of stuff in the old 1960's Dodge motor home that he was living in. (Left that too) Asked what he wanted for them and he said it is all junk to him and said 10 bucks. I went to give him a 20 and he said no, 10 for both and he wouldn't take the 20 no matter what! I have never heard of either company. The Zero looks like it screws together. Molded in a wierd white plastic looks almost like the glow in the dark stuff! -

What Did You See In Your Yard Today?
OldTrucker replied to Tim W. SoCal's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Didn't get a picture but there were three vultures in the yard yesterday morning. The lady across from us is 101 and she scared them off, said she isn't ready yet! LoL -
I was diagnosed as now being diabetic on Wednesday. Not bad enough for insulin but more big changes in diet. The Doc wants me on Ozempic. I'm not sure about it.

Thanks for the music Brian! We will miss you! Got to meet him in the 60's when my oldest brother was in the Marines. He was good friends with Dennis and surfed with him every chance he got. Brian was very reserved, I guess shy would have better described him but he was also a funny guy once he loosened up.

Many of our neighbors and some family members were WWII Vets and yes the ones that saw the worst were very quiet about it. The only ones that they can talk to about is is another vet that was there too! They told funny stories about the ship ride over there training in England and talked about the girls and the food but little else. Most put it behind them and concentrated on jobs and family moved on and did well for themselves. There were those that did not have that same fortitude and that is understandable. Personally I never heard one whine or complain about what they went through. One of the best WWII vets I knew lived next door. He was a Bank Loan Officer. He lost a leg on D Day. Said his fight ended about twenty steps onto the beach when a mortar round knocked him down, said he jumped right up to run forward and fell on his face. Another soldier jumped on him and told him to stay down and pulled his belt off to tie off his leg that was the first he realized he was hit! For Viet Nam Vets I can tell you it was a whole other story. There will never be another generation like them! God Bless Them All!

Found out my A1C has moved into the diabetic range. That my shoulder x-rays show moderate to severe arthritis in both shoulders and left thumb at the hand. Started having pain and now can't lift my arms higher than my shoulders. Showed up two weeks after they took me off my anti-inflammatory med. It was causing the beginning of an ulcer, and my liver enzymes were elevated and having fatty liver disease that is a bad sign! Then walked out to the parking lot and got attacked by a Robin, her baby was under the car.

Olive skin makes good kin! I loved that line! Loved her in the early episodes but they changed her too much after the Frank character left the show.. -
Had to go back with my first pair. Wasn't there doctors fault, she was great. Even suggested I go to a specialist because she saw the beginning of a cataract in one eye. One lens was ground off center. No one grinds lenses locally or in the country these days it seems.

Dodge L-700 stake bed
OldTrucker replied to Sam I Am's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
There was one years back I would see in Indiana will dual axles pulling a short flatbed always will a single steel coil. Checked it out at a little truck stop at US41 and IN.2 it had a drive and a tag. A shop in southern IL. I occasionally worked at one we swapped a refuse box off of had the same setup. Both had big block Chrysler engines. -

This is the Revell 1/196 scale kit from 1987. I built this same kit from the 1969 release in the late 70's. Spent from 5 one Saturday afternoon until 4am Sunday doing the rigging! My young brothers in laws tried to sail it when it was stored in their garage. Thought I would give it another try. Only change I am making is opening the deck under the life boat and inning a false gun deck under the openings.

Make a pattern full width. Mark on each side of the center post. When you transfer to the plastic mark the plastic at the center above and below the gap at center. Then crease the plastic to match the angle.
