  1. Working lights? Here's how to do it http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/102782-lights-for-your-model-the-circuitry/

Very nicely done! Are you going to touch up the V8 emblems (below the taillights) with a molotow pen?

Nice, clean looking build. Also, thank you for keeping the pictures to a reasonable number.
  4. Although the hemi doesn't lend itself to boots on the plug end of the wire, here's how you can do the boots for a more conventional engine. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/101815-snug-spark-plug-boots/?tab=comments#comment-1422494
  5. Excellent!
  6. Lookin' good! Are you going to put some parking lights in the front?
  7. The nipple is not cast into the cap. The yellow lines point to two different materials. The red lines point to two flat surfaces on the nipple; a pair of needle-nose pliers might work to unscrew the nipple.
  8. Absolutely dazzling!
  9. Sure looks like Revell goofed up. The box art shows a 6-holer emblem, but the assembly instructions shoe V-8 emblems.
  10. Your instructions show assembly for a V-8, but the box art shows a 6 cylinder emblem on the hood.
  11. So far, most of what I've seen have been one-off cars. I had a 2006 HHR for 12 years and put almost 150,000 miles on it. I'd love to see a kit for that line.
  12. Lookin' good! I have a question: if this is a street version, where do you attach the license plate(s)?
  13. Some more observations on the '55... The rear wheels appear to be deeper than the front ones, suggesting they are reverse-rim wheels; Finding dog-dish hubcaps might be a challenge; It looks like there's a tachometer on the steering column; I think there's a shoulder harness/seat belt retrofit (look at the post between the door and the side window). These aren't huge deals, but might impact your choice in kits.
  14. Ditto! I also like the license plate frames...did they come with the kit or did you fabricate them?
  15. The picture is not displaying
  16. Is the '55 a 6 cylinder? The absence of the V8 emblems below the tail lights suggests that (unless the emblems were removed). Finding a 6 cylinder engine might be a task. If you do go with the '55, there's a simple trick to opening up the grille. Use a dremel with a sanding drum and carefully sand off the back side of the grille...no photo etch required!
  17. Very nicely done! Did the kit not come with a hood ornament?
  18. With the exception of color, the '55 interior should look similar to this (although I'm showing a floor shift instead of column and gauges under the dash), unless the owner has taken liberties with it.
  19. There have been tutorials posted showing how to do this. For example, wrap some wire around a threaded bolt...
  20. Out of idle curiosity, why are you buying styrene for this purpose instead of using left-over sprue?
  21. That's one of my pet peeves as well.
  22. Or just glue a section of screen to the tire and paint it.
  23. Instead of a lathe, you could make a cradle for an electric drill. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/102101-a-handy-accessory/?tab=comments#comment-1428008
