    Everything is top-notch. It seems somewhat contradictory to have the extra-cost whitewall tires (were the skinny ones available in that year?) and the plain-Jane dog dish hubcaps, but that's just me.

    A little bit of dish washing detergent would be a lubricant and allow the tire to slide on more easily. When you're done, just rinse off the soap.

    You appear have all the components to do the testing yourself. Why not experiment on some sprue and let us know how it worked out.

    Here's how I drill distributor caps. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/101796-drilling-distributor-caps/?tab=comments#comment-1422922 As mentioned above, if the chuck on your drill press is too big for those tiny drill bits, put the bit in a pin vise then put the pin vise in the chuck.

    That's the same method I use. PLAN B: Flatten the head of a golf tee, add sandpaper, and use it in an electric drill.
