Nice work, I like the weathering. Happy New Year!
  3. Fresh eggs and goat cheese, can't go wrong with that, nice model too. Happy New Year!
  4. All sharp and clean builds, great work. Happy New Year!
  5. UV cure resin is another inexpensive option. You can get a small bottle and a cheap UV light on Amazon for under 20 bucks. Works great for making headlight lenses.
  6. I wonder if the thought behind it was since it was so much scrap metal that it was polished not plated and therefore would rust or corrode quickly? Or it was just a metaphor and you're right about the over weathering. Either way I'm really enjoying following your build and I think the platform idea is a perfect way to display it. Thanks for taking the time to post your progress.
  7. I received one a couple of weeks ago and it's just as described, very nice casting.
  8. Well done, I wouldn't have thought you could match the mid sized el camino bed to a full sized Impala, but you fit them together beautifully.
  9. I didn't get very far last time I tried to finish for cannonball, but I'm going to give this a shot. I had plans to redo this Rambler I built 30 years ago as a Carrera-Panamerica car so this fits right in. I'll go with #62 if it's still available.
  10. Junkman got it right, I picked it up on eBay for more than I would usually pay, but it's the only thing close to a big Benz of that era that I could find.
  11. Those paint colors should really stand out when you get the foil work in place. That line on the roof is odd. I wonder how it could bleed through primer and paint?
  12. Thanks, after I asked I noticed the web address on the envelope and tracked it down in a round about way, but your direct link to the English version is much more straight forward. I appreciate it.
  13. Been looking for this at a reasonable price for a long time. Weird but I like it.
  14. I have a similar project in the works, modifying a W 155 200 into a baby (slightly baby, anyways) Rote Sau. Could you share where you ordered those?
  15. Close, it's cousin of sorts NSU Prinz. I do have a Zhiguli though.
  16. I really dig the color choices, nice job.
  17. As far as spoons go, plastic soup spoons are usually rounder with a deeper dish at least the ones in my work cafeteria are different than the regular spoons. I think are closer to a fender flare profile.
  18. I've had good luck with Gwenjemaelle on eBay, usually some where between 30-50$ plus shipping. They do combine shipping and are fairly quick, 3-4 weeks. I know, kinda pricey, but where else are you going to find a Renault 12 Gordini or a 68 big Benz. I've also picked up a couple from Russian ebayers, a little cheaper but longer ship times and could be a gamble. Definitely going to order the boat tail if it pops up.
  19. Here you go, probably needs more light. Be nice if the American cars are just as well done.
  20. I have several of Hachette's European cars, I'll post some pictures in a bit. The details are very well done, smooth paint, the tampos are very clean. Some details like the wipers are more delicate than most kits. Little to no chassis detail though. But if you like 70's, 80's European cars they are (to me anyway) worth the money..
  21. Thanks Casey, I often forget about these guys, I'm an illustrator myself and would have jumped at the chance to design my own custom kit versions. But even though I love automotive design my illustration career took a different path.
  22. Got this Gremlin for a decent price to complete the trifecta of ugly/cool AMCs. Love the box art of this series, including the Capri and Mustang II. Thinking about building them as close to the box as I can..
  23. I suspect you are using clear decal sheets and not white.
  24. Trademarking or copyrights don't apply in this situation. The copyright belongs to the original car owner, or in some cases the artist who came up with the design, depending on their contract. So anyone reproducing the design from the car is responsible for getting the rights to do so. Someone copying from a decal printer who has the rights to the design could get a cease and desist from the original car owner or designer but not the decal guy. If you didn't get the rights to reproduce a design and someone duplicates your work, you got nothin. That being said I still think it's crappy to rip off someone's hard work, the only revenge is to make yours better, so no one wants the crappy rip off. Now if they are selling bad prints of your decals, as your decals then you can try to sue based on them damaging your reputation or some thing along that line.
