  1. Thanks to all for the information. I obviously didn’t observe the release activity close enough. Also did not know that the Camaro IMSA kits were reworks of the Mustangs.
  2. I have been cataloging some of my stash, and ran across these. I know it is a hard question, but any idea as to the disposition of this tooling? As far as I know, these may have not been reissued since they were released in the 80s. Might Salvinos JR have them?
  3. I would much prefer the ‘68 as a model subject. The ‘67 design is very similar to the ‘65 and ‘66. I consider the ‘66 to be the most resolved and successful design of that sequence.
  4. Kit is factory sealed. I will trade for three car kits, can be current production. Interests include: AMT 1965 GTO Hardtop Craftsman + AMT 1968 GTO Craftsman + AMT 1965 El Camino/Camper AMT Ramchargers Funny Car AMT 64 Mercury Revell 32 Ford (Stacey David retool) Revell 77 Firebird Revell 76 Torino (stock) Revell 57 Ford Gasser (coupe or wagon) other trades considered. Thanks! Garry Renfro garryrenfro@yahoo.com Greeneville, TN
  5. The headlight issue is with the SMP-AMT 1961-1962 Corvettes.
  6. I think RC released this kit, as well as the Van/ Phaeton and the Model T kits.
  7. SteveG informed us the contents for the initial release would be only what was in the last MPC release, the “Pro-Street” version (not what one would consider pro-street, does not have a tubbed chassis). It uses a 1979 style hood. It would be great, as far as I am concerned, if they have found the inserts for this version, and have decided to release it instead. If not, I hope they at least do not use the pro-street title on the box art.
  8. If one keeps up with this forum, most of the content of the kits, the box art, and the approximate release dates are known well before the video is released. The video is a confirmation that the kit is actually in the pipeline. I don’t keep up with the other categories, so find it interesting to see the breadth of Round 2’s product offerings. The presentations certainly could use some refinement and finesse, but detailed unboxings and builds follow quickly for most kits. Chad does seem personable and approachable. I would like to have beer and pizza with him and hear about the day-to-day grind at Round 2.
  9. Indycals also does custom printing. They use a printer that renders in CMYK and white, so upon close examination the screen pattern is visible. Resolution is quite fine, and I do not find it at all objectionable. Service is speedy, and quality excellent.
  10. Interesting. You are a younger builder, but still interested in the era of cars that appeal to us geezers. Hope springs eternal.
  11. SteveG posted earlier in another thread: AMT1411 is new tooling, cloned copy of a MPC 1968 GTO promo with some very modest changes. Hood will be a separate part with some front under-hood details.
  12. There was a Camaro Street Machine kit in the "Hot Rod" (magazine) series that shares the body and most parts with the Firebird (same series) mentioned by Richard. I don't know if the interiors are the same, but I seem to recall the front and rear fascias for both cars were present in both kits.
  13. Is this the snap version? Because of low parts count, I think it must be.
  14. Gee-whiz! This is chock full of interesting articles. Best magazine I have seen in a while. The other MCMs have been great, but its one will take several sittings and re-readings to digest. Thanks!!
  15. I like this project! Not yet every model need represent a high profile customizer, race car builder, iconic media car, or rare factory muscle car. Daily drivers comprise the vast majority of cars we see most of our lives. We see innumerable automobiles in TV shows and movies. Recognizing and acknowledging the richness of our day-to-day lives can guide us to many overlooked and unique project options.
  16. Thanks, it was static-clinging to one of the box sides.
  17. What is the item to the right of the yellow wire. My kit doesn't contain it.
  18. Absolutely! This gray beard would love to see some of those Chrysler Corp, AMC, Cadillac, and Oldsmobile kits back in circulation before he passed over.
  19. I think Round 2 is successfully hitting several different genres/builder's interests this month. The kits we know they are developing promise to satisfy some different consumer interests also. This tells me they are trying hard to navigate the current rough business environment with foresight and respect for us, their customers. There are comments about the cost of kits, and the value of those kits at current costs, but the factors affecting costs are beyond the manufacturer's control. (I do not know about their business practices, maybe there are problems there for small retailets.) I am also disappointed I cannot purchase as many kits as I could in the past, but I will buy what I can, and hope that maybe, just maybe, things will improve and prices will come down. I empathize with the brick and mortar, and small retailers, who are really suffering with the reduced sales caused by higher prices. I just wish there was still one around my area to support.
  20. For me, the frame can be adapted for a better use. I do like the positionable steering.
  21. Added to Atlantis site this morning. Interesting engine choice. Kit contents description indicates gray and white parts, no mention of chrome plating.
  22. Not too uncommon for a time in several classes.
  23. This may have been strictly an early production problem. The five kits I had preordered from Steve Iverson arrived last week, and are fine.
