  1. Excellent build! The color really sets this one off! Looks great in every detail!
  2. Thanks Dave!! Will you be paying with cash or check. There is also an extra charge for spreading as opposed to simple dumping. Saturday's schedule is pretty full, but it can probably be worked in. ? Thanks for the kind words Mike! Thanks so much Hermann Thanks Mark! I wanted it to look well used, but still a nice truck. Thanks Chris! Thanks Ken! Thanks! I think the outdoor pictures help. Thanks Warren! I've got to take a load of #6 gravel to Spruslayer. How far is it again from Indiana to Connecticut? ? Thanks Kerry! The light hides some of the minor exterior weathering that I did. Thanks Dennis!
  3. I just got home from the store in Lexington NC. I picked up 2 4300 Transtars and 2 K100 KWs and a Chrome tanker. Still several tankers left and a few trucks if you are in the Lexington area. A word of advise. Check the entire store. I had already given up on there being any truck kits, and the on an end cap, there they were. Models were in at least 4 different locations in the store and the tankers were not with the trucks.
  4. A lot of extended wheel base trucks are owner operators wanting a custom look. Except for pup trailers, I think that you could make most any other trailer work. I personally would probably go with a box or a flat bed. Years ago there was a man they called Joe Mustang who ran an old long wheel base H-model Mack and pulled a flat bed. I've never seen any pictures of it loaded this way, but I'm pretty sure that I read that he would let long loads overhang over the front of the trailer over the long truck chassis sometimes. It probably wouldn't work today, but I'm not sure what era of a truck you're building either. Look up custom rigs online and see what trailers they're pulling and see what inspires you. I hope this helps! Brian
  5. This one is finished and Under Glass. Thanks to everyone who commented along the way!
  6. I found the package. It is Scale Scenics (Division of Circuitron) Aluminum Micro Mesh 652-3500 It looks like it was designed to make chain link fence for model railroads. There is a well stocked model train store close by that I pick up scratch building supplies from.
  7. This one began with the Ertl Dump truck kit #8029. The engine is a 6v-92T from Auslowe with valve covers from KJ at Double Take Replicas. The lift axle is from Gary at GW Trucks. All of the wheels and tires are from Jamie at moluminum as well as the pintle hitch. Stripes are from Jerry at modeltuckin. The bed was widened. The sides were lowered. The inside and out was sheeted with very thin aluminum that was dented. The tailgate was completely scratch built, along with several other scratch built items. It is meant to represent a recently repainted and refurbished truck that maybe someone bought and decided to go into the dump truck business. For the most part, I'm pretty happy with this one.
