This one began with a cab from A.I.T.M., the tanks came from Dave as well. The engine is a 6-71 Detroit from Gary Wallace. The transmission is a 5 speed. The tires are from KJ at Double Take. The frame, wheels, front axle, and front springs are from the R-Model. (I know that Brockway didn't use Mack front axles, but it is what I had.) Rear suspension is the walking beam from the AMT Ford LN8000 tractor. The drive axles are from an IH 4200. Glad Hands are from Shapeways. There are numerous parts from the parts box. The decals are from an old Nascar kit a just a little smaller than the ones on the 1:1.

Thanks! That's how I remember them too. I've been wanting to build one for a long time now. I was going to build a F-Model until I found a picture of a Brockway. The decals are from a Nascar kit and just a little small, but it'll do. Thanks again to everyone who has commented. This one is going "Under Glass."

Thanks for the kind words. Mack brochures say the offset was for improved vision, "putting the driver right behind the tire". Some sources that I've read said it improved vision on winding mountain roads. On a very sharp curve the driver could see farther ahead sitting on the far left side of the truck. Some other sources say it was because of the short hood and the engine does extend back into the passenger floor board. However, Mack made other offset cabs that the engine did not extend into the passenger floor board.

This is just totally cool!! Instead of oil field truck, I'm picturing a massive off road log truck complete with loader. Something like a forwarder. I'm not telling you to change your build plans, I'm just saying that your work so far has inspired me, like I need another project planned. I really like those terra tires too. I've been wanting a set myself. Did you order directly from KFS? I'm looking forward to seeing more of this build!

I PM'd you a few pictures. This is what I believe the other side of the bracket to look like. These are the best I have. I often use some "creative license" under cabs and hoods.

I'm sorry it took so long to get pictures. As you can see, the instructions barely show the manifolds. The second picture is one that I built a few years ago.
