You really captured the look of the 1:1 379! Excellent work! The Catroit engine even fooled me at first. Very nice!! -

I like it!! The headlights give it a look reminiscent to its predecessor the Emeryville. The weathering looks great as well. Nice work!! -

Parts Box - The Box Itself
DRIPTROIT 71 replied to JordanFordF1's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I build mostly semi trucks and rarely “out of the box,” so I usually have a ton of left over parts. I use a parts organizer like Bill pictured above for smaller parts. I separate everything; mirrors have a place, emblems have a place, grilles, etc. I separate other items in various size ziplock bags, from snack size to freezer bags. There is a bag of fuel tanks, a bag of wheels, a bag of tires, a bag of drive axles, etc. I keep the bags in semi truck model boxes. I also have a model box full of truck cabs, hoods and bodies. Some of the boxes are stacked under my desk, others are in plastic totes. -

First of all, Excellent work! This thing looks great! It really looks the part. Second, thanks for posting this! I have looked at these before and to me they seemed to look a bit toyish. However, your finished build doesn’t look toyish at all. It looks great! I might have to give one of these a try myself. -
Ollie's strike again
DRIPTROIT 71 replied to GLMFAA1's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Went to the store in Mooresville NC. They had a nice display set up that had the Rat Fink trailers, but no trucks. I looked around the rest of the store and hidden in the back on roll around carts, wedged in between the carpet, to the point you had to literally dig them out, were quite a few toys. There were several of the 4070a Rat Fink trucks. I picked up 3. One thing that I have learned about Ollie stores, is to check the entire store before giving up. The last go around, I found the semi kits in various places around the store. -
This looks awesome! Very convincing! Excellent work!!
