  1. Thanks, Ace. Plenty of reading there, for fixing Chrome Head;ight. I'll be busy later.
  2. I'd Use the OHC-6 Myself, factory stock or not. It would look Killer, and you would have the only one! But, that is just me.
  3. I need one set of South Carolina Decals. Want to know which decal sheets I should be on the look out for. Thanks!
  4. I plan on using one from either the Fuzz Duster Plymouth or the Turtle Wax Van.
  5. Again, Thank You, Tim! I'd be using the Grille and bumpers in the box. I rather fancy their looks, really. But, I'm working on a pair of the New Round2 60/63 Ford Pickups, and my Baja Beast Long Bed Dodge 4x4 race truck, so any Merc projects will have to wait a while. I really like the colours HPI Guy chose for his build too. And that Over Size Parachute Pack will make a great load for a trailer or pickup bed when suitably painted.
  6. Tim B. Thanks for the info. If I ever Build the kit, it would be OOB with the Kit tires, so It would be as close to stock as the box contents are. It is nice to have the stock wheel covers back, though.
  7. And, That Big Boxy looking thing he asked about? That is the last remaing bit of the "Put On" overscale parts from the 1970 version. It is a parachute pack.
  8. Great Build of Pappy's Bent Wing Bird.
  9. So, Nobody has any idea about this Air Cleaner?
  10. Would the Fireball Modelwerks Resin tube bumpers for the First Gen Ford Bronco Fit? Or could they be made to fit, without too much work? I'd guess the dimensions are close.
  11. Amen, Mark! You said it much better than I could. Thank You!
  12. Yeah, Revell is getting a whole lot of mileage out of that set of Wheel Tooling. I don't really care for those wheels and think that they look dated now, even though they are not really that old. But, it is easy enough to find other wheels.
  13. The Late Bob Paeth told me that he and Mr. Keeler worked on several kits together. I don't remember which ones. But, Mr. Keeler was most certainly involved with some well known 1960's Revell Kits.
  14. Good Luck on your Build. There is a fairly nice 289 in the '66 Mustang Fastback kit, and the AMT Shelby Cobra. Those are my Go-to kits for 289 engines.
  15. Maybe so. If that is what it is supposed to be in is not up to MPC's usual standards of Engraving and Tooling......
  16. I want this one back! I hope Round2 is planning on brining it back someday.
  17. The '76 Did not come with a BBC, IIRC. Only a small block. The "Wrong Engine" issue has been a much talked about problem for some time. Every time the '76 is re-issued, the reviewer usually takes the time to point out that the engine is a carry over from the original 1973-74 version of the kit, and thus incorrect for the '76. So, I'd say find a late 1970's Small Block and swap away.
  18. This whole debate makes me cringe. OOTB builds seem to have been a solution that pleases nobody except those who live to follow rules, and then enforce those same rules on others. I think I'll avoid ever labeling a kit build "Box Stock' just to stay clear of the issue.
  19. I've been meaning to ask about the Chromed Air Cleaner in the MPC 1972-1978 Series of Dodge Trucks. Part Number is usually 117, and it is two pieces, always chromed. I'll post a link to the instruction What exactly is it? It must be somehow race connected, or it would not have appeared in the Off Road racing themed 1972 Baja Brute. But, I've looked at contemporary ads, and I see nothing really like it. I'm sure that the MPC designers copied Something that they had seen. I just would like to know what? And why didn't we get a stock Air Cleaner too? And what is the best way to assemble it? It looks odd to my eyes when I do it the way the directions want you to do it, But it doesn't look much better if you put it together any other way. https://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/mpc-instructions/1-sort/mpc-dodge-off-road-/scan0015.html#media
  20. Yeah, but Even Hotwheels and Cheap Diecast toys have driveline detail on the Chassis plates. That truck looks like the underside of a Coinbank.
  21. Awesome! My favorite show as a boy. I have about 6 copies of this kit. After seeing yours, I need to finish one.
