I've got half of one, dated 1964. Wish I had a whole one. It came from my Dad. I did not know he was into that kind of thing when I was one yr old.

NIce Work, so far! I do like your fix on the front hole. Clever! I'd go green, for Pacific, or gray for a boat in the Med. -

Nope, it was the 65/66 Coupe. Painted Tamiya Turquoise Colour, I think. It was on the cover. -

I did indeed forget the Taurus. Nice Catch! -
The Very Fact that You ask this question proves you are not dumb. If you really were Dumb, you would never think to ask the question at all. Paradoxical isn't it? Look Up the Dunning-Kruger Effect. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunning–Kruger_effect

Wish round 2 would release some obscure stuff
stavanzer replied to jeffp60's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
The Dodge Trucks is the First suggestion I've seen that for a tool that exists. (other than the Volare). I get what Folks want, but Obscure "Plain-Jane" cars and Everyday "Mainstreamers" are just not something that ever was destined to sell in large enough numbers to sell well. Promos commissioned by the factory were often Up Optioned cars, that many wanted but few would buy. Detroit was selling Dreams, and few dreamed of a Base Model, Four Door Sedan. But, that is what sold in the largest number in the 1 to 1 world. Not in every case and not for every car, but that happened most often. The last Model Company experiments with Four Door, "ordinary' car stopped in the early 1970's. It took a huge ground swell of verified consumer interest almost 20 years later to get the next 4 door sedan with Revell stepping up to the plate, with the Caprice Police Car kit. And even after that success, with the Ford Crown Vic, and a Lindberg Dodge Caravan tooled, the Plain Cars have disappeared again. It is my opinion that the Modern Model companies do not have the Spare Tooling Dollars to invest in anything that they do not believe will be a Home Run, right out of the box. The days of tooling up something off the beaten path, and taking a chance are over. So, The 1908 Thomas Flyer, and similar kits are long gone, and nothing like them will be tooled again. If you really want the kinds of Mainstream, Base Model subjects, get ready to work with Resin & 3D printing. Those are the folks who can take risks in subject matter. If you do not want to work in those mediums, You're Outta Luck, I.M.H.O. -
I have that MPC832 Kit. Great Little kit. The Decals were very Nice.

Fantastic Combo! The build quality is superb. I really the the smooth finish on both kits. You've done very well.

I remember his tips and Grundy Salvage truck builds. His Tips and Trick column was a must read for me. I hope he is still building and doing well.

Sorry for the double post.

Okay, Steve, I was rather harsh, in what I said. Your reasoning is sound about the box art making a Wild First Impression. It does do that very Well! I hope it sells very well. I'll stand by what I said though. I do honestly feel that the other three kits I mentioned are not choices I would have made though, given the back catalogue Round2 has shown in the past. And, That ex-Lindberg TBF, is just Sad. I'd not put have put it in an Round2 box. It should have been marketed as a Lindberg kit. But, if you did that, no one would buy it.... As I said, The Bison is great, and the new Bronco overshadows all the other kits, in that video. Also, this list of upcoming kits has some real Stars in it. Some new Round 2 releases, likely 4th Quarter. AMT-1354 1/25 Gulf Fruehauf Tanker AMT-1357 1/25 Dohrn Fruehauf 40' Exterior Post Trailer AMT-1383 1/25 1964 Ford Galaxie Modified Stocker Race Car AMT-1392 1/25 1962 Pontiac Catalina Super Stock Race Car AMT-1399 1/25 Fruehauf Flatbed Trailer MPC-992 1/25 1932 Ford Switchers Roadster/Coupe MPC-993 1/25 Bantam Blast Dragster MPC-994 1/25 1969 Plymouth Barracuda MPC-1001 1/25 Shirley Muldowney Long Nose Ford Mustang Funny Car. I see Four that really excite me. The 64 Mod Stocker is a great kit, and new decals and pad printed tires will perk it up nicely. The ex-MPC Switchers Ford is great to see, and the Bantam Blast is a great kit to build or kitbash for parts! The 69 Barracuda is just a fun kit. I've built it, and will happily get another. So, things look good from here, now.

Anyone Ever Built The Cannonball Countach Kit?
stavanzer replied to oldcarfan's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
So True Carl, so very, very True! -
I finally Watched this..... The Good parts.. The New Bronco! Looks awesome. I hope the instructions for decaling the Squatch are in there! This kit will sell out fast. The Bison! Looks great, and will go well with the three trailers that have been mentioned else where. I like it. The Bad Parts... Man, Round2, don't go to any effort on our part! The Decals on the 280ZX? An extra 4-5 Decals? A half inch larger decal sheet? You Shouldn't have? (sarc) Was not a great kit then, and not sure why it's back now. The '34 Ford Coupe. The decals are Okay, but just Okay. It's a nice kit, but no building options. They did not even throw in the ubiquitous tree of 5-spoke rims that goes in every other American car kit, lately. The "Sweet Bippy"? I'm 60. A Laugh-In reference goes right over my head. Who is the Target Market for this kit? Not anybody under the age of 65, I'm sure. How did this even get "Greenlit"? NIce Kit, lotsa build options, and great to have back, but the box art is not going to move it, I think. Last, the Lindberg TBF Avenger!! What is there good to say about this Turkey? Crude Kit, Baseball size rivets festooned everywhere, out of scale working parts, and badly proportioned propellor and wheel wells, at best. Badly Done 50+ year old tooling, that was avoided by serious modelers in the 1970's, brought back to life now?!?!!? Sell that tool to Atlantis, and be done with it. A Real Mixed bag for me, on this one. It's like all the effort on the '64 Olds kits, the '68 Coronet, the MPC Supra, and the new Bronco, just tired everybody out. The 4 kits I mentioned are to me, (to Me!) just wasted effort. Especially the TBF Avenger! Far all the experts that work there, they sure try hard to polish those Lindberg Cow Flops! Just sad. It will be better in July, I am sure.
