  1. When is this kit due to hit the shelves? I know that Revell says 4th Quarter or 1st Quarter next year, but I don't really trust Revell's timelines anymore. Kit looks really good so far. I want one.
  2. Looks, Great, So far. The Body lines work well.
  3. Scott, I have no Pics, but it I have the kit. Two Sets of Tires, one Pad Printed. Nice Decals. Two intake Options, Stock and Dual Car, Midrise Manifold. Two different Spoilers for the Trunk, and an optional Spoiler/Air Dam for the front. Sharp, Clean molding in White Plastic. If you remember what MPC kits were like when new, this is exactly like an MPC kit was then. Oh, the hard plastic tires are in there too. P.S. I saw pics of this kit in another thread on this Forum, just in the last week or so. Page Six of the Road Runner Thread. Pics by Don Sikora II
  4. Hey, Revell, can we have this back, please? If you have to have a kit to justify it, how about the River Rat Pickup and Boat kit, with "Extra Custom parts" I'm in for about 4 of 'em.
  5. Does it have the leftover S'cool Bus and Li'l Mixer parts in it, like the last version had? I've got two of those, mostly for the extra parts.
  6. Well, Chuck, look at the target market for the Real Thing. Aging Boomers and the few under 50 Nostalgia Junkies who are willing to pay for the darn thing. It's incredibly over priced, a bloated, Hot Wheels-eque caricature. The proportions are both foreshortened, and squashed. It has narrow, gunsight windows, and a curiously cramped interior, given that the demographic that it is aimed at has a huge percentage of er-Large Folks in it. It has been a joke since it was introduced, and only gotten worse with the "invisible" restyle. When this new Camaro was introduced, I wanted one, and actually had the ability to get one. Two test drives convinced me otherwise. Cramped Seating, that would just never fit me, no matter how I adjusted things, poor vision in all directions, and really awkward controls. The whole car had a garish, Toy-like feel, as if it was a Movie Prop, rather than a real car. The Slit Window vision thing is not just a Camaro thing, however. The Dodge Magnum Wagon, and the Challenger I drove, also suffered from the same condition. It is no wonder the Mustang is dominating the field. It is the least cartoon like of all the current Pony Car Clones, and the most practical to live with.
  7. There is a post on the Round2 Collector Model Blog showing the new parts tooled for the Kit. There are 5 new parts: One front Wheel half, a pair of Tall Wing Support Struts $ the 'Z' Strut that goes between them and, a new blower scoop. Although the parts shown are in raw plastic, I will guess that they'll be chromed in the Final kit. There is also a photo showing all the new parts on a built up kit, so you can see where most of them go. This kit does not interest me at all. However, like most here, I want it to be a major sales success. The more of these that sell, the better my chances for getting the obscure kits that I really want.
  8. I thought that it was mentioned a year or so ago, that the parts for both stock and custom would not all fit in the standard size box. That may not be true. I suspect that a stock only version might not sell in the quantities needed to make Round2 go to the effort. Again, I don't know, I'm just guessing.
  9. My Hobby Lobby had both the Regular Clearance Display, and a secondary one near it. Frankly, I'd have missed the trucks, I had not glanced over and seen the '23 Model T C-Cab kits on clearance. Seeing those, I went searching for more kits. They were jumbled together, and only the ends of the "Pete" boxes were showing. Once I confirmed the price, I snagged one. No, You cannot 'stack' Discounts at H.L. Clearance Price, No Coupon. Reg Price, Yes on the Coupon. I may visit again tomorrow to see what is left.
  10. The California Hauler Pete is on clearance at H.L. for 20.99. Picked mine up yesterday. Heck, That's cheaper than a Car Kit. Looks great in the box.
  11. Ordered my kit yesterday. Should be in my hands in a week or two. (Hobby Shop of Mom, personally gifting the kit to me) I'll settle back and keep reading the building tips and planning my 401 Nailhead powered Coupe build for when it arrives.
  12. Just checked H*bby L*bby, they are not there yet. Noticed that the '23 C-cab Van with the Hershey decals is on clearance now for about $15.00. The last of the Fruitwagon kits are gone now too.
  13. Just picked one of these up. Looks great in the box. Molding is clean and sharp. Tires look good, especially the GT Radial printing. I may just have to start on this one. Vintage 'Late' MPC at it's finest! This build gets all the 79/80 Flairs & Spoilers and maybe some flame decals. I may try to shoehorn in a Slant-6 just for the proper Malaise Era "All Show and no Go" feel.
  14. Or the 1994 25th Anniversary Roadhog XGTS in the Memorable Magenta / Cerulean "Throwback Colours" from the '69 GTS. The only Chrome on the '94 is the Special Edition Wheels. Remember though, that the 1994 wheels were somehow recreated by the factory with 7 spokes instead of the correct 9 spokes of the original 1969 GTS. The kit gets this wrong, so you will need to find some nine spoke wheels in your stash.
  15. Well, the Roadhog 225 kit would cost less if they did not plate the chrome tree. After all "Real Modelers" TM. have access to Alclad now and can just paint the parts they want chromed, rather than stripping the whole tree. That should knock 15% off the retail price right there.
  16. Thanks, Gerry! My next Revell Purchase, right there.
  17. Neat! More Sunday Reading.
  18. Thanks, Bill. I'll remember this, when I start on my Coupe. It is really very helpful.
  19. Thanks, Bill. So much for that plan............ I'll just stick to the Blown Nailhead then.
  20. Great Thought! I have a 22Jr in the stash.
  21. A couple of questions have crossed my mind about the new Model A kit. 1. Will the Skeleton Sidewalls fit the roadster body from the '29 kit. 2. Will the Blower manifold from the SBC fit the Buick from the roadster? I am guessing that even in scale the SBC manifold will be too narrow to fit the Buick block from the '29. But maybe it will be close enough to fudge. If not, I guess I'll be scrounging through my old AMT Buicks to find a Blown 401 to adapt. TIA
  22. Nice work on that DeHavilland Gypsy engine. I would've never guessed that it came from a Matchbox kit. That huge Blower really stands out too. That car is looking great.
  23. The Model King Pontiac Bonneville and Boat kit. Spent $44.00 for it at a show in Los Angeles, back when I had money. Now, If I can't use the H*bby L*bby Coupon I generally don't buy. Although I do make exceptions. Bought the Revell '57 Chevy Convertible yesterday for $19.95 at the LHS.
  24. So, Is it Done yet? I've got a whole box of MPC, Monogram and Italeri Classics, just waiting for bench time. Glad to see how nice yours is looking.
  25. Quite Nice. Any other problems with the Slingster?
