So, Wife and I take our Covid Tests. We both test Positive. We both feel like we've been rode hard and put away wet, to use the phrase. We managed to make it from 2019-2024 without ever getting sick, and now this... I am beyond angry. Called the Boss. I am to remain at home until I test Negative. My Adult Daughter will take my Wife to the E.R. tomorrow for Meds, and to get a stack of Covid Tests. I'll call the VA and see what they advise.I may not go to work at all this week. Ugh. This is Not Good. Thanks for letting me Vent!

I will need glasses for distance vision. Thanks for the encouragement.

I got Cataract Surgery on Wednesday. It has been postponed at least three times since Jan 2023. Between high A1C, needing to lose weight and troubles with paperwork and the VA, I though it would never get done. But, It has. I'm not seeing (ha) any real improvement in my vision yet, but I am assured that it will take time to stabilize. But, I am grateful to have gotten it done., as my eyesight was getting worse every day, even with glasses. Now to wait and see how it shapes up, in the next few days.

My 70 year old Work-a-holic Boss is a Micro-Manager. Every Decision about even the smallest things, must go through him. He is not a bad guy really, but very old school. He introduced me to his longest serving employee, with the Semi Humorous Quip, "This is Fred. I've Fired him three times". Now that I've been there 2 months, the humor is gone. And, I am beginning to question how smart Fred really is....... Anyhow, I tell you that, so you can understand this. When the Boss is not in the office, no real decisions can be made. So if he is gone, no NEW work can get done. Of Course, already planned work goes on. Because of this, he seldom takes time off, and does not call in sick. So, All last week, and the Monday and Tuesday of this week, he has been in the office, coughing his fool head off. Hacking, dry cough, that hits him so hard, he had to stop phone conversations to wait until the coughing stopped. Wednesday, I left for Cataract Surgery. It has been planned for 18 months. The surgery it self went well, seemingly, but by Wednesday night, I HAD a cough. Fever, and runny nose too. I've been fighting it since then, and I'm still not well. Today, my wife is sick too. This afternoon, I get a text from a co-worker. He tells me the Boss and his wife have been diagnosed with COVID. Oh Great! My wife and I get tested for COVID tomorrow. Not sure If I am going back to work Monday, or not. P.S. The Cataract Surgery seems to have worked but my vision now, is worse than ever, and now my glasses do not work..... I am told this is normal, and things will get better in a few weeks, but I'm discouraged right now.

Your explanation fits the facts as we know them, Robert. I'll take your word for it.

There is no Sound Business case to support the Revell effort. None, as shown by the fact that the kits have disappeared, and will probably never see the light of day again. Not sure what went wrong, but all that time & tooling budget utterly wasted, for no reason. Worst of all the the kit was clearly copied from and inferior to the Lindberg tooling. I'd really like to know who 'died on that hill' in the Revell business office to push that whole package to completion.

the old chevy farm truck
stavanzer replied to eran_k's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Fantastic Build! You still see trucks like that scattered in the back corners of farms, here in the Central Valley. Not Quite Dead yet, and still doing something useful. (although now, the 50 year old trucks are from the 1970's) Good Show. -
But, Bob, Humanity has always been this way. The last 60+ years of Relative Peace are the anomaly. The Normal World has always been Hobbesian. Nothing about Humanity has changed in 5000 years. We are still the same, fallen, evil people, that Humanity has always been. What is hard for those of us of a "Certain Age", is that we grew up in world that was mostly peaceful, and we think that is Normal. It is not, and never really has been. We mourn the loss of a way of life that made sense to us. Watching it change, and disappear is hard for us. Especially since Violence, Force and the 'Law-of-the-Jungle" are becoming the new Normal. I feel for you. Glad You are Healing. My Late Father was an Alumni of Chico State.

The "Landing Strip Pads" were most likely, "Marston Matting". It is in a couple of 1/35 scale kits, but I've not seen it in 1/24-1/25. You might search for Printed Cardboard Runways, as a Diorama Product.

Are You having FUN? If you are, then you can never have too many WIPs. They say that "getting there is Half the Fun". So, start a new build when the mood strikes, and enjoy the build.

Just Hurry Up, and take my Money, please! I need at least one of each kit.

I think the whole point of Tim's reply is accentuate the fact that the Revell 32 tooling has no 'easily' anymore. Could it be done? Maybe, Maybe not. There are probably only a handful of folks on the board who even seen the Revell 32 Ford tooling. And, unless you are a Tool & Die Maker, and have extensive experience with Model Tool Making, I doubt you could even understand the tooling with a guide. This is not to say that we don't want new variants on the tool. Just that it is probably time & cost prohibitive to make any changes now. Revell is now a European Company, with a European Focus. They will run old tools for the American Market, but it is not their focus. I see Revell investing in American Tooling, (the 71 Mustang) slowly, as the Budget permits, but not like it was 30 years ago.

Last Month I received my latest order from Fireball. Three sets of tires, a Hi-Lift Jack and a bunch of KC and Cibie lights. All impressive and the shipping was fast. As usual, Fireball knocks it out of the parts.
