"Staint Helen Orphanage"?
-
Thanks everyone! When shooting a pic, I've learned Tip 1: make sure the wobbly wheels are straight. Tip 2: use a real camera. Tip 3: make sure the cat's hair isn't on the windshield.

In a previous thread (https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/190546-why-was-the-supernatural-67-impala-4-door-kit-discontued/) Matt T. suggested that the Supernatural 1967 Impala kit would be a good basis for the sheriff's car from the movie House Of 1000 Corpses. It being a 4-door hardtop, I agreed and did as much research as I could. (I watched more of the movie than I wanted to - not my cup of tea.) I got the wheels the spares box, not perfect but good enough for this. The lights are from the Johan 1968 Fury kit. I couldn't find the right color at the hobby store, but I did have some automotive touch up paint I laid on top of the well-primered styrene.

Comparison of Yodel and MPC Dodge Monacos
1967RMP replied to ABC Auto Industry's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
The ONLY thing the MPC kit has going for it is the accurate body. Considering they modified the 2-door Monaco molds to make it, they did a pretty close job. They did redeem themselves with the new wheels and tires, but neither kit has the correct style dog dish caps. There are many other inaccuracies, but where it really loses points is the fiddlyness of its parts. The Yodel, while having a faulty body, is a lot more fun to build because its parts fit better. The Greenlight diecast is a lot more accurate than either. -
Those look like gardenias to me.......?

Why was the Supernatural 67 Impala 4 door kit discontued?
1967RMP replied to GMP440's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Hmmm. You might be onto something. I've been trying to figure out what to do with mine. Decals, wheels, and tires from the spares box, lights from the Johan Fury, siren from God knows where, some weathering, and voila! -
IIRC, they were going to also offer the 1959 Rambler wagon, as well as another original Jo-Han I can't remember. A 70's Olds, perhaps?

AMT The Green Hornet Black Beauty Kit
1967RMP replied to martinfan5's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I wasn't disputing how popular Bruce Lee is, I wanted to point out that the Blues Brothers are popular outside the U.S. Peace! -
AMT The Green Hornet Black Beauty Kit

I'm not quite sure I agree with you. You Tube shows many European tributes to the Blues Brothers. These are just a couple of examples. Not to mention European owners of Bluesmobiles. -
AMT The Green Hornet Black Beauty Kit
1967RMP replied to martinfan5's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I'm not a fan of the GL 1:24 diecast, it always seemed a little off to me. And as esoteric a subject matter as the Bluesmobile, it is still MUCH more well known than the Black Beauty, who NO ONE would have predicted would be produced. Count me in for a case of Bluesmobile kits! I do agree with you on the sequel. Other than the music and the car pile up, blecch! -
You even got the gasket on the gumball machine! Nice touch.

I wouldn't mind seeing a police version, myself.

If it's the same garbage lightbar as in the Galaxie kit, hard pass. The Visibar from the MPC Smokey The Convoy Chaser though, I'd definitely pick up a few.

Jo-Han 1956 Plymouth interior
1967RMP replied to 1967RMP's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Figured it had to be Modelhaus, oh well. Thanks for your replies! -
As I just got a Jo-Han 1956 Plymouth promo (non-acetate) off the 'Bay, I remembered that these once came in a kit with an aftermarket resin interior. Does anyone know who produced it, and if it's still available for purchase?

Tamiya makes a nice clear red, I use it all the time. Amazon has it for $5.69 with free shipping in the US, I don't know about Canada. https://smile.amazon.com/Enamel-Clear-80027-Tamiya-TAMIYA/dp/B06VTVCL4J/ref=sr_1_3?crid=1YTT0CZD7I97N&dchild=1&keywords=tamiya+clear+red&qid=1610472515&sprefix=tamiya+clea%2Caps%2C212&sr=8-3
