  1. To be honest all the models lately have oddly gone through the roof. I too was looking for a few Tamiya motorcycle kits and I was supremely surprised to see a $30 kit that was a dime a dozen a few hundred dollars. What’s odd is whereas some models are overpriced I can’t get rid of this Pocher Rolls Royce kit that’s new!
  2. Guys and Gals...The Pocher kit was a mere 20- 30 parts at best and it looked like a toy when assembled. Therefore I wanted to share what I did to it from a kit with some heavy modifications to attain a sense of realism. I know that a lot of this isn't exact to detail...but 90% of the people wont know the difference but its close...I wanted to capture as realistic as I could. Believe it or not...I used old MacBook Pro and Mac Pro screws, old parts from model kits, parts from a DVD player...Ethernet cables...and bits and pieces from all over to attain something a little different but close to the real engine. I'll post the top of the box so you can see what it was supposed to look like and all that I did...enjoy.
  3. Excellent work! Great paint job and detail.
  4. My turn...the 1/12 AirFix 1930 Bentley Supercharged....I started this thing 3-4 years ago and stopped because nothing fit...the instructions sucked...it would show an arrow like put this here, but never designated left or right..up or down...nothing exact...3 steps later you realized it was supposed to go on the top not the bottom! After prying apart pieces and snapping parts off to realize the left was the right and the right was the left...this kit went back in the box...then to the back of the model car closet where the sun don't shine and paint overspray will never get to it! Fast forward to Coronavacation...and now that after a few models under my belt...I feel like the man after this thread...yeah...like I'm eating a York Peppermint Patty..standing atop the NNL stage...with the wind blowing through my hair (I'm bald)...I'll give it another try!
  5. Guys (and Gals) its been a month of Sunday's and then some since I posted anything...been real busy on other things. So without further ado, catch up time! I happen to love the Tamiya 1/12 models as you can see from my last post 9wow that was 2016! anyway). I decided to do something totally different...and I know I may get a few people upset...but what the heck it tuned out fantastic. I picked up the Tamiya Wolf WR1 1/12 F1 car brand new for a steal on eBay for $80.00 like 2 years ago. As with all of us model builders...it sat there in the top of closet next to all the other models, that was supposed to be next in line, untouched sealed in plastic gatherings dust...Then I saw the Orange Porsche Jagermeister...and thought that color would be cool on this car as opposed to that boring 70's color of dark blue and gold! Well sit back and enjoy the view...(Original photo of kit attached)
  6. Really great and excellent attention to detail!! I have that same kit (unstated) and I can't wait to finish my current F1 to get started on it!!
  7. Love the paint job and the interior is coming along well!
  8. I wanted to make this look as real as possible, and they don't come with racing harness, wires etc...( Found one on ebay...but $120.00..anhhhh) So I decided to make my own racing harness out of spare model parts and...yes surgical tape! Here is the progress
  9. Hey guys...thanks for the shoutouts! Yes they are Tamiya 1/12 kits. Crazy Ed...thanks man, I accidentally flipped the pictures in preview before uploading them accidentally, I fixed it!
  10. Excellent kit! One day...one day I'm going to get a Pocher model kit. I wish they would make some of the older models, The vintage series, Bugatti, Mercedes...etc. They are going for $1500-$2000 on eBay.
  11. I decided to make my own Cafe racer, and as you gents (and some ladies) know, they don't sell Cafe Racer model kits...just like the real ones, you just don't go buy one....someone builds it for you from an old motorcycle. Therefore I took an old Tamiya 1/12 Suzuki GSX750 Police Bike kit and made my own. I made the rear cow from a piece of plastic and putty and metal and the seat and grips I made out of real leather donated via the glove in the picture. I custom made the pipes by cutting the 4 into 2 pipe into pieces, melting them in shape to wrap around the frame and wrapped them in strips of surgical tape, then painted the tape. I used the forks of a GP Race bike and cut the speedo down from 4 dials to one. First one I ever done, therefore the gap in the rear cowing is off, but hey...its my first! I put the picture of what the model would've looked like on the box behind mine.. Enjoy
  12. On the bench is my first "Full" build 1/12 Tamiya Ferrari 312T. Very challenging, but a lot of fun. I decided to pull some real photos and try to customize it by adding as many electrical wires and connectors as possible (with my amateur skill) to make it look as real as possible. I also decided to make my own racing seat belt harness but using cloth surgical tape and folding it and painting it. I found some parts to make it also look as real as possible, but still working on it. Hope you guys like the detail.
