Thanks. They are from the Moebius 54 Hudson. Fits well in the tyres from the Chevy and looks very crisp and clean.

First of all, excuse me for crappy mobile pics, didn't charge the battery in the real camera. But I found this kit cheap, which is good, at least in Sweden they are a bit rare and costly. Low on spoke wheels = never wrong on a Chevy this age? Really bad picture but.....painted the engine block copper metallic And the frame Made lowering spindles, maybe not the most accurate way to slam it, though the easiest.

Italeri Volvo FH12 XL70
Cpt Tuttle posted a topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Trying to make a project thread of something I have done some small work on every now and then... The cab is painted with yellow metallic from some Belton rattlecan, and then black metallic, touchup paint from some Mercedes or BMW, don't remember which now. Over everything there is gold glitter spray to simulate metalflake, and of course sealed with some layers of clearcoat. The interior will be white and oxblood. I normally don't understand the thing with old bakelite steering wheels in old trucks but I think that it fits OK this time. The steering wheel in the kit is wrong anyway, it's the ugly steering wheel from the older F12 trucks (like a supersized Volvo 240 wheel), not the more modern FH steering wheel that actually looks pretty good. -
Chassis glued together, painted and sectioned to get rid of the almost 4x4-like ride height it gets out of the box.

A yellow Esprit was a childhood dream for me....

Tamiya pearl yellow.

Quite a nice engine in this kit! This model is said to have problems with the suspension sitting too high. The easiest way of solving it is to cut down the frame tunnel to allow it to slide up further in the body. So I did such a modification which seems to have turned out well.

I think you could fit my Mini into your crankcase.

Engine and gearbox glued together and painted.

One thing is for sure, beating you in having the most wicked engine will be hard.

I had to do some cutting of the floorpan since the limited space under the hood requires remote mounted radiator and turbo. Though since I am planning a conversion to coilovers in the rear and doesn't need the weird rubber spring elements the Mini are using, this will probably be OK. I am thinking about having a beam between the rear shock mounts to beef things up instead. Also I painted the floorpan a rear sleeper color that the body will get later - brown with satin clearcoat. Though I wanted the engine bay and frame rails to be black, so black it is. Don't ask me why, I just wanted it this way......

Compared to the 90s version of the AMT 37 Chevy convertible, it's a beauty.... -
What a beauty! Nice color choice and impressive build quality, very good.

1967 Plymouth Belvedere 4 door Sedan 426 HEMI original

Interesting back story and very nice build. -
Despite all their flaws the AMT deuces are among my favourite kits, they have lots of potential for being such crude kits. Your build really proves that. I especially love the roof insert.

Now that's a really clean and well built bug. Beautiful!

I felt like I wanted to upgrade the front suspension to a more conventional type so I started building some struts for it. It's a combination of Honda and Porsche parts. Porsche control arm and lower part of the strut, Honda brakes and upper part of the strut. I wanted something bigger than 10" wheels but finding something still tiny enough to fit a Mini was hard. Finally I found the solution, wheels from the Fujimi VW Golf mk1 was filed down a bit and the tyres from the Mini kit stretched over. Seems like it will work. I felt like I could as well build a flipnose if I was going to build a completely new front end anyway.

Not much work done yet on the Esprit, but at least I've got paint for it....

Honda A-series engine (80s Prelude) and a bit of imagineering with the Mini gearbox in sump arrangement. An oddball of an engine but seems like it can cope well with boost up to at least around 250 hp. That's enough in a Mini. Painted it green as a homage to the classic BMC A-series though. The stock front subframe and engine bay didn't fit very well to the new engine so I decided to build everything new from the firewall and forward.

Wait, was this built from a Tamiya XR4i? Impressive conversion to a Mk2 Cosworth then!
-
Great build!

Really authentic look, gives a nice feeling of nostalgia... Well done.

The kit is very far from new, hence the bad fit and warpage. Though it can be built into something nice with a bit of work, as your build proves. I built mine as some kind of 60s borderline mild custom / lowrider and it turned out nice too.

This one makes me smile, and that is never a bad thing.
