  1. Now that's a nice conversion, you don't see many fordors in scale, and even nicer with a top chop.
  2. This is kind of a simple and crude kit, but it can be built up nicely. I managed to spray my interior in red oxide primer and the paint is still sticking on almost three years later....
  3. I like the woodgrain in the interior, very nicely done.
  4. You have succeeded with that battered look really good, nice.
  5. Nice to see someone that dares to make something out of this not-so-good kit.
  6. Will be interesting to watch the conversion work.
  7. I agree, this looks pretty much like many aftermarket 50s seat covers I have seen.
  8. Nice finish, smooth and shiny without being too much of an unrealistic "wet look".
  9. Great job on the legendary 959, will be interesting to watch how it will look with a blue topcoat then.
  10. AMT Chevy Van lenses were a good fit instead of the chrome lenses supplied in the kit, just needed minor drilling and some brightwork in the reflector with a chrome pen.
  11. Humbrol #159 "Matt khaki drab" and #85 "Satin coal black", and Testors "Chrome silver". The body is painted now too, I sprayed the metallic green over flat black and I have a Mustang where I have sprayed the same paint over white (to mask off the Shelby stripes), at least I think that there is kind of a difference between them, the Mustang is clearly green and doesn't change very much depending on the light, the Camaro is almost black when looked upon in normal light conditions but when it's close to a light source you see a very nice green shimmer from the metallic flakes in the paint, kind of a cool effect actually. But it needs some wet sanding and polishing.
  12. Yes, they are pretty much my favourite cars of 1963 too and contributed to my choice.......alongside the Vette of course!
  13. Pink, no headlights and a bowtie on the door that looks completely out of place. A great kit that probably was ignored by many people when they saw the boxart.....
  14. I first thought that they were some 1:1 reference photos, and was looking for the model, until I understood that I was already looking at it. That pretty much sums it up.
  15. It's looking great, especially considering its age, it has held up well.
  16. Looking great, just the right amount of detailing without being overdetailed, very nice and clean work.
  17. Thanks, didn't know that. Green interior, I have memories of having seen a similar colour in an 1:1 Camaro years ago, feels very period correct at least. The Grant steering wheel is from the AMT Chevy Van and I also scratch built an indicator stalk on the column since there was none in the kit.
  18. Cool, I am also building a Monogram Esprit so I am following this with interest.
  19. Yes, but since I am not building this one stock, that doesn't matter in this case. Anyway, the spoiler in the box are looking like some cross between the small and the large one, and the fit is horrible, so.....
  20. AMT old tooling. I think that a gen 2 requires the ducktail spoiler, but the one supplied in the box was looking like BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH, so I cut one out from a 1978 Monogram that I'll probably never build (I don't like post 1973 Camaros). Needed some work because of the difference between 1:24 and 1:25 though. Maybe not 100% authentic but better than the one in the box. Also, I shaved the side markers for a cleaner look.
  21. Opel is german though. It's hard for me to choose but I think 1963? I can't think of a bad looking american car from that year, and we got the split window Vette, one of the most beautiful cars ever produced IMO.
  22. A similar mistake to the AMT Chevy Van then, 5 lug wheels even though the badges says that it is a Chevyvan 30, that should have 8 lugs....
