  1. Great looking Torinos! Such a nice kit and I am inspired to pick up a couple more of these after seeing the awesome work you'll did! I searched on the bay real quick and saw those ARII tire and wheels going for $50-60! Am I missing something here?
  2. What a great bunch! Is that late 70's Monte Carlo the lowrider version that you turned stock? Did you use the AMT '70 Monte Carlo 454SS wheels? That looks awesome!
  3. I bought the bottle in the fall of 2015 and how long it may have say in the shelf prior, I'm not sure. I have noticed the newer Ford/GM engine blue being lighter. I still see bottles of the darker "Ford only" blue in shops around me. That's kind of a bummer to hear. That original shade was pretty spot on. Thanks for the encouraging words, however the fine details were the kit supplied decals. I'll take credit for everything else haha.
  4. I agree, this is your best yet! Keep it up!
  5. The picture I screenshot off of Google is, lol. No, unfortunately it's not mine. My ex's dad had a 2002 HD edition. He bought it brand new and they gave him a cool motorcycle chain key chain and other neat stuff. He only had the truck for a few years, but it was really nice.
  6. I'm not sure what the SSR wheels look like, but these look really close to the 1:1 version.
  7. Hey everyone, I have taken some photos of the HD F-150 kit. I've only included the truck, as that's the topic at hand. I'll have the Revell '97 F-150 Supercab in my hands in the next few days and will upload comparison pictures. Kind of wish that the decal sheet was in better shape. Hopefully they'll be okay. I miss the old days with Revellogram using name brand tires! These look great! They included 8 tires; 4 for the truck and 2 for the trailer. I guess it made more sense for them to include the extra two than delete them from the kit. See ya later!
  8. Hello everyone! Started my first build of the year and wanted to share my progress thus far. I am taking my time and attempting some different tricks for this build, like panel scribing, flocking and BMF. I used Model Master Ford Engine Blue, aluminum, steel and Testors flat bronze, flat black and gloss red on the engine components. The interior was sprayed with Testors flat black out of a rattle can and detailed with a silver paint marker that I puddled it's paint onto a plate and used a tooth pick to apply to the trim. In hindsight, I should used BMF for the trim, but you learn from your mistakes. I applied Elmer's glue and sprinkled black embossing powder over the carpet and rear deck lid. So far, the interior, chassis and engine are complete. I sanded down the tire tread to remove the mold lines and add realism. Another first for me in building model cars. The body is currently in it's second coat of Tamiya primer. I had to sand down the door panels on each side of the vehicle due to me rushing the process and the paint pooling up. I need to putty the few marks where my panel scriber skipped and scratched the plastic. Then I'll add some Vallejo acrylic black wash before I spray the color coats. Here's the body so far! This is the first "modern" tooling kit that I've built since my return to the hobby last year. I can say that overall, I'm impressed with the quality and ease of this kit. Only complaint so far would be wanting a more detailed engine. I have tried my hand at wiring and other detailing tricks for engines, but decided to build this OOB. Thanks for looking and please give me some feedback! Stay tuned! - Mike
  9. Thanks for looking. It seems Revell might have dropped the ball on that one. The Revell '99 Lightning has the super charged 5.4. Weird that the HD edition wouldn't have that included, seeing that Revell has that tooled up. Sorry to hijack this thread. I should have my HD Set today and I'll take some pictures of it for you.
  10. I guess the inevitable will be invest in an airbrush. I know I'll need to get one once I run out of rattle can colors. Thanks for all of your suggestions and replies. My main intention was to spray a chassis and wheel sets for a couple custom ideas I had.
  11. It looks great! Way better than the '66 that I'm finishing up now!
  12. Great touch! Lol!
  13. Plated wheel covers that I've stripped the chromed plaiting and trim. I guess I'll try the black bare metal foil
  14. I have just picked up a Lindberg F150 Flareside 4x4. I have a Revell F150 Supercab coming from Ebay and I'll be getting the HD Set tomorrow for a friend from a steeeeep trade. My Lindberg has the 4.6L V8. I'm not sure what the Revell trucks have included. According to Wikipedia, the HD should have the 5.4L supercharged V8. Can anyone confirm this? Does anyone have any insight? Edit- according to the Revell and AMT boxes, it's looking as if they're including the 4.6L V8.
  15. Does their matte black look like black chrome?
  16. I'm looking for a non air brush solution. I'm not at that level yet. Thanks though.
  17. Is there any such thing? All I'm finding is the little Model Master jar.
  18. Looks good! Welcome back!!
  19. If you don't need the '76 grill that came with the Star Truk, I've been looking for one for about 6 months. Lemme know what it's worth to you!
  20. Is there anybody that casts the 76-77 round headlight grill? That's the one I've been looking for for about 6 months.
  21. These tires and wheels look great! Any chance that you'll have a dually set for any of the big three?
  22. Very cool!
  23. Can't wait to see this finished! Where is the trailer and midget racer kit from?
  24. I really liked watching your progression in these photos. Happy new year!
  25. I've been eyeing the '48 Ford Sedan and Woody for some time now. I have too many kits now, but what's wrong with two more?!
