It is one of those kinda tunes you would get into the car, push play, and drive............. Hallogallo, Outer Bongolia, and more. check out Porcupine Tree version, ? -
Fantastic! You certainly have a good looking setup. ? Glad to hear things are going well after being brave and jumping in... into one of the more challenging aspects of the hobby to wrap ones head around?

! Not News , But Still Irritating ...
STYRENE-SURFER replied to 1972coronet's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
...most modelers today are not kids who shove bits of plastic together. We have become a rather picky and b!+<#¥ lot that can't stand anything other than perfection. Those military modelers who need the perfect hue of Sahara dust or Tuscan oil grime wash are too much for me but somehow they have a lot to choose from. It's time we get some proper automobile colors so we don't have to mix are own, desert radiator pin wash or Michigan salt brine pigment anyone? I kid, I kid! ? -

The metalizer paints would be missed. Hoping that new line of Tamiya becomes available here in North America. yah, they need more colors and those mixing notes on the instructions have left some scratching heads. ? If there is one hobby paint company not worried about, it's Tamiya. Just wish they would expand the range for us car and military minded modelers. -
The only thing I have questions about is what thinners you have chosen. If using Testors enamel and the like do test on scrap parts/sprue from same kit. If spraying Lacquers or any soposed forms of hobby Lacquers (Tamiya, Mr Hobby etc.) then you can get better results from there own thinners. Mr Hobby leveling thinner is my best experience and mixed w/Mr Primer Surfacer 1000 is a nice primer. There is one thing that I'm not sure of yet on this and not tested by me. If you are priming and base coating, then masking. You need a Good adhesion so you don't pull things up. (This has happened to me before but with spray bomb jobs.) Going to use it on my current build but no masking required.?

Ah, you are quite right. It's been awhile. I'll drop you an email when I get back to my desktop. Using this tablet has its quirks, but I can watch "For a few dollars more" at the same time LOL -

I looked around, that would be fun to see if it was documented. If I could figure out how to change my profile settings here my name would have been STYRENE-SURF a fictitious surf song title that me and my mates came up with long ago. Spell check kinda ruined that and is history ?♂️ Now for a sig? is that what it's called? "Enjoy the sandwiches." -

I was looking at some old 1970's inner sleeves at a used record store. Does anyone remember those? Seeing all the artists/albumbs that where on the same label some of them where really out there and could be never be Found in my record shops as a youth.?? found most of them on the reissued CD or Bootleg ? -

Yes those where drilled from the bottom up. Was lucky to have one long .024" bit for the job. Curantly glueing up some sub-assemblies where possible for paint and final assembly. There are some rather important engine pieces to craft, have been putting this off for awhile. A timing cover w/fuel pump and ignition as well as the exhaust are going to be fun. Thanx Mike..This is a no deadline project that I only work on one or two times a week. That does give me time to plan things out or just leave it for a time when it seems frustrating. It's been fun but has taken my mind off my RC sailboats this summer. None of them have got wet this year. That's my main hobby but now living in Idaho rather than the Midwest there are few who share any interest. Sailing alone is not very rewarding. ? -

Very reminiscent of NEU! "Hallogallo" Nice ? -
Looking good and interesting twist on the Maverick builds both under construction and finished recently posted on the forum. The chassis you've chosen is IMOO the best suited. One thing I'm thinking is that it might look better with some easily added torque boxes. I'm currently gathering information on Pro Stock Mavericks and typical modifications made back in the day, have gathered pics and some magazine articles. But some of that stuff is lost in a vast photo collection of which I didn't take proper care to organize.? defiantly following ?

Paint Strippers - What to Use?
STYRENE-SURFER replied to pbj59's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Has anyone tried this technique? Ive got a couple of prized bottles of Mr. Color thinner sourced from overseas. Wouldn't iso alcohol be near the same results? Well heres the video with all of Paul's British remarks. Some times his crew reminds me of Rowley Birkin QC ? google it. -

That's one prize I would not wish for. Don't get it at all. Receiving something you didn't expect is good? Nope. Send back for refund. -
Hm, some forums have a way (usually a thing next to their avatar) to show that they are online.

Unfortunately these days questioning such hypocritical views from those who look down on us regular folks, (Lewis has put off singing a new contract in the light that it could ruin his image BTW) is a quick way to get expelled from any conversation.

Funny, this forum doesn't have the function of showing this, well other than leaving a certain thread and going back down to the main page. Am I missing a setting or something? Just curious.?

He's JUST ok. I would rather spend my time watching quality work being done with the hope I may learn something from the experience. I like the guy, wish he put more into details. And if I have to watch him one more time wrestling big body parts or what not by himself? Blah Blah Blah -

Thanks Russell, much appreciated and will keep updating this thread as I go. I'm nearly over the parts creation hurdle (other than engine specific ones) and still deciding on just how far to go with some of those. Lots of final prep on the body and ancillary bits and bobs have to be addressed, then it is time for me to get the paint/airbrush out. Geez, it's been awhile so will have to practice first? -

Francis... Simply amazing ? Those nuts and bolts are of your own creation? Agian WOW! ?Thanx for the pics. -
They charge immediately knowing they are out of stock perhaps, then ship incorrectly. They get your money first and worry about technicalities later. What a world ?
