What did you see on the road today?
STYRENE-SURFER replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yes, it's reserved parking space. -
Thanx everyone, now I recall the difficulty I was having looking at these (a year or so ago) it was the RR scales. Guido Tenths of thousandths is what I meant to type. Some times tolerances were within .0005" , my vision is not what it used to be don't know if it's from the years of deburring tiny medical parts with a lupe or just old age?

Zut alors.....gimme one of those!!! -
Thanx Bill, I would bet it was on one of your threads that I saw those. To be honest,, my brain has a hard time scaling things. As an ex machinist where dealing with ten thousands ( tenths of thousandths ,oops) of an inch has ruined my ability to settle on what looks right. And there is a difference between perfect scale and perceived scale....Blah Blah Blah? What sizes do you normally use? Only asking cause I know you are a car guy.

A couple shots my nephew took on consecutive days while visiting a law office in downtown Boise Idaho. I live in the poorer part of town (the Bench) LOL! This is one well healed enthusiast. -
I did have a link to were to order these from at one time(was it a model railway seller?) Some how I lost the thread that mentioned them. Can't remember but I do know when looking at the website a year or so ago I had a hard time figuring out exactly what to order as far as sizes go for typical 1/25th scale stuff. if you know the link/company and can advise me the sizes you prefer it would be much appreciated. Another question, is there anyone who makes hex nuts in the same scale? ?

Can you muddle through your DMV situation via smart phone connection? Here in Idaho I understand the police have relaxed some of these registration problems do to c-19.

Well, I've seen lots of old,....No, ancient AMT kits turned into art on this forum. A lot of those could be considered Door Stops. Currantly working on one of those myself (countless hours on it BTW) is it worth it? Prolly just to me most likely ?
-
Oh, that looks perfect ?

Yup, it mystified me that they chose to go rag top. There was two or more styles I believe, the ones I have are Flame tread ed. the Ram Blur kit body is kinda nice actually, just don't like the fact it's not a hard top. there are some bashed ones on this forum I think. cheers.

Precisely what the problem was Bill. This vehicle spent too much time in the Midwest so salt carroded the calipers. They cleaned them up and appoligized for my inconvenience. All good now? Hey...wasn't there a Neon race series? I seem to have a vague memory of that.?

Had new rotors/pads put on my Rav-4 a week ago. first long drive noticed some squealing which I thought was due to new pads. now today it became extremely loud on another long (for my vehicle) drive. With the windows down I could tell it was from the rear PASSENGER side. At home I checked the rotors w/heat gun. One brake rotor was well over 450 deg. the others much less. The hot one was on the rear DRIVERS side(not the side the squeal was coming from) this makes absolutely no sense to me. Arrrhhgg. back to the shop.?

Is anyone watching the 70th anniversary F1 race?
STYRENE-SURFER replied to STYRENE-SURFER's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
It was was better than most. But tires won the race IMHO. (Yah what's new.) F1's not for everyone but have watched so long that it's kind of an addiction now.? -

Indy 500 is not what it used to be. spec racers looking like Playmobil toys. The whole spirit of the race has been lost. Don't ever watch it anymore..... well not until the last few laps? -
Color theory
STYRENE-SURFER replied to porschercr's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I studied it in design school and can't remember half of it. that color of Purple on those wheels reminds me of making color charts from primary colors. Not as easy as it sounds, well that particular Purple? Would have binned it. I passed the course.? -

STYRENE-SURFER replied to Plowboy's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Being a Ford fanatic I am going to follow your project for sure. Not very knowledgeable in model kit history, was this a promo or resin body? Nice work so far.? -

STYRENE-SURFER replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
My sister graduated University Wisconsin. They had some quirky rituals at homecoming football games. Some guy dressed as a female cheerleader and a strange cane toss where they tried to hook walking canes on the goal post. sorry for the non sequitur. ?
