  1. Rear arches are done, here is a sneak pic. Now Ive got to deal with this massive hole in the bonnet ? Looking around at my stash, really nothing propper to start with. Maybe this section of Polar Lights Barracuda funny car roof will work. ?
  2. What is the average cost of all the tooling, accessaries needed? I'm guessing it is just about the same as the initial investment. An old production machinist talking here, who never had to purchase my own tooling ETC.?
  3. An interesting interpretation of the rules (bet this guy thought he was one smart fellow).
  4. I had this one saved on my desktop. Don't know anything about it, was this a production car? It's kinda cool?
  5. If your into DC-3 history check out this video and also Mikey McBryan's channel.
  6. gunna through this in cause its timely. RIP Dave.
  7. This weeks recommendations from the Surfer. Have a good week y'all.
  8. Try using Scotch brand Permanent Double Sided tape between them. Cut and sand then soak in isopropyl to remove the parts and clean up. That is just one way, can also use Elmers or Tacky adhesive.
  9. This may have gotten lost in the conversation but I can truly relate. Like they say there's more than one way to skin a cat. You can do a lot without fancy equipment if you are imaginative, resourceful, and don't have a problem failing the first or second time and starting over. Learn as you go and do spend some time looking around this forum for ideas.
  10. Sheat styrene does not react well to heat. It will shrink or curl up in weird ways. Cold molding is what I would suggest, slow and over different size mandrels till you get it where you want it. Also try using two thinner sheets layered to get the thickness preferred. Wick in some thin cement like Tamiya and it should hold that curve your trying to achieve.
  11. This weeks recommendations from the Surfer. A bit of this and that found on the Tube while locked up.LOL A bit of Country from a Dutch group. Hang in there, this gets wonderful. OH, this kicks some... Continuing the female artist thang, Inga Rumpf has one of the coolest voices out there. Hope you like.?
  12. That is really sad, especially for a guy doing public service. All of us trying to be safe and protecting ourselves also need to protect OTHERS. My little experience w/the Fat B+stard in the grocery store just showed me how stupid, selfish people can be. We all have family, siblings etc we are trying to protect. Please be responsible people.
  13. It's not normal for me to say such a thing... but perhaps they will. Get it?
  14. Did some grocery shopping today. Had my now normal precautions on, face covering , gloves. And then this guy with his young daughter (no face covering or any precautions) crowded me in at the checkout lane. I asked him to step back and was served all kinds of rude remarks. I looked at him (probably 200 lbs. overweigh) and simply said .... Oh, I can't say that here.?
  15. That is a very cool rescue. I well remember that Herman's Hermits song, LOL. I was 6 years old at the time. Would love to see a writeup, and perhaps some scans of that old article. The look, without any flare over the rear wheel opening is not too bad. I'll have to ponder that. I clipped your photo because I thought this notation at the bottom of the page was on point. ?
  16. JC, if you have seen the movie "Mitchell" (best version being the ms3tk) , still makes me laugh! That is one my brother in law worked on as producer/executive producer. as a side note, I always hated that Seinfeld show. Those people would never be part of my realm.?
  17. This special double CD box set with a "Spirou" theme is just wonderful if you can find it. The idea was to have musicians create tracks that coincide with Spirou adventures in comic books. Lots of varied stuff on this cinematic album. Unfortunately the only track found on you tube is also one of the hardest. Ha Ha... Blind Idiot God will melt a face, the rest of this album is not the same.
  18. All silliness aside, I'm glad to see another Teresi build unfold. GO MAN, GO!!!
  19. Oh, that is another thing I wasn't going to bring up.? Snake... that is a fiddley bit I was hoping others would over look. That and the asymmetri side to side. Arrrgh.? All good AMT fun.
  20. Yup, no mater what type of bonding you are doing take care for clean oil free surfaces.
  21. Well, believe it or not. It's true. however most all of Nicks films were B movies.?
  22. If you like Ennio check this out. John Zorn early work ... and yes, challenging yet worthwhile ?
  23. The "Maestro" as he liked to be referred to as, was just about to do the sound track for a film my late brother in law was going to produce. That project fell through unfortunately, but Nick had meetings with Ennio and I got to hear some great stories about his experiences with one of my all time music heroes.
  24. Hey, thanx for that jog of memory, now my music server is happily playing some much needed Skynyrds as well as Little Feet, NRBQ, type music (random mode) ? Perfect for an after lawn mowing beer?
  25. Ive never had good luck bonding small bits of dissimilar material together with CA or even Epoxy type adhesives. I stick to styrene as a medium. BUT there are lots of examples here on the forum of superbly talented modelers doing just that. One skill that I envy is the ability to source just the rite parts from just the rite kits and assemble them with not as much trouble. I don't have that kind of model kit knowledge for this on my own but ask here and you will get immediate information. I'll give these examples that may give you something to think about. Sourcing small styrene tubing is limited, so try drilling rod to create the look. You need quality drills to do this but not as hard to do as you may think. These shocks where made from Evergreen rod. Drilled out to the correct size. I discovered you can also create strong parts to support some weight by imbeding small carbon rods inside (here in a small motor mount support made to look like square tube) method could be also used for long unsupported frame rails. Picture is sort of an explanation showing the carbon rod, plastic channels and caps to create the dimension desired. This is only how I prefer to do things, I'm sure other more experienced and talented modelers will chime in here. Thats the beauty of this forum. ?
