  1. The hood looks so much better, well done. Your quarter panel just above the wheel arch sanded through almost exactly like on my project Mustang. Not at all on the passenger side, but I bet its very thin. Hope it doesn't ghost thru after paint, I'll probably use Lacquer base primer/base coat. Do you think it could be an issue? I tried some different chassis I had laying around in my spare A/FX Mustang body just out of curiosity. Miss Deal funny car, AMT '67 Shelby GT, it's surprising how much shorter this bodies wheelbase is. ??
  2. Thank you all for your kind comments. You can see in Snakes photo the importance of back filling the wheel lip/flare. It shows up much clearer than on my pic's. We both spent nearly the same amount of time on the filing/sanding. I wonder were those cool pad printed Racemaster slicks came from??.
  3. Haven't had time to update things in quite a while, so here goes... About the Polar Lights Funny Car wheels and Revell K S Pitman slicks. The outside wheel rim diameter is just about the same as the inside tire diameter. So without some modification will fall to deep into the tire (hope that made any sense) I glued a ring on the wheel, set to the proper depth to help center it and also not fall through . For the rear wheel arches I have added another 0.02 strip of Evergreen cut to a pattern I drew on paper that was wrapped around a section of gift wrap cardboard roll. This was glued under the earlier 0.01 strip from my post above. (same technique was used) There is plenty of material sitting proud of the body that will be sanded back (nearly all of it) leaving some for a much smaller LIP with some filler needed of course. (Tape is holding the strip onto the cardboard roll for glueing) The strip is glued under the earlier one thus making the wheel opening smaller. ?
  4. Hood looks good. For the rear wheel openings I would just choose some big tires. the work involved to fix is driving me crazy on my project. A picture of how this body looks with 0.01 styrene glued into the arch. Then backed up with filler (I chose milliput). Sanded off the entire wheel lip.(see my thread for more details) Have glued in another strip of 0.02 after this picture more work needed.
  5. Nice, that's totally in my wheelhouse as a collector of odd and wonderful recordings from the '60s-'70s. ?
  6. I've posted some videos by the "Stone Coyotes" before. Here is Barbara's solo album from 1973. (Very different) and quite nice, do give it a try. This piece of vinyl must be extremely rare these days.
  7. Just an addition for those prog music lovers out there. This is one you need to turn up!
  8. NRBQ... Great band, Great album.
  9. "Calling Occupants" was covered by the Carpenters.
  10. Yah, the USGS map looks like a Christmas tree in our area, more than 80 quakes/aftershocks in the last 24hrs.
  11. Same here, in fact my Dremel rarely gets used. All hand tools and some I fashion myself to suit whatever tasks at hand.?
  12. Nice work filling in the bonnet. How bout a fade for the second color?
  13. This is great, was thinking "Revellion" after seeing the first pic.?
  14. Thanx Tom Elmers has some properties that are very useful for us modelers. One being that you can use water to neaten things up after its dry. Ability to paint over it is good to know. ?
  15. Watched the recent NASCAR race on TV, those cars were spinning and crashing out without looking like they even touched. Didn't see much signs of damage either. Orher times they were driving through each other. There was a GT type car race streamed over the weekend (can't remember what it was called) much more realistic, cars showed damage during the race and to me more enjoyable.
  16. Good explanation Peter. Now I understand how I lost out on some deals. should have done the research on my end but too lazy. Now I just do "Buy It Now".
  17. Peter, I was using my office iMac, will see if it was a figment of my imagination next time.
  18. There are some here that have some interesting machine equipment, lathes mills etc. others with collections/collectables. I'd be interested how you have your shop set up. I sometimes have other odd projects going on like a recent mid century lamp restoration so a little OT or better, some 1-1 car stuff might be allowed by moderators. (My mini mill is boxed up in a closet for lac of room in my tiny space.)
  19. Refrigerated or frozen Twinkies are my favorite. ? Much better than room temp.
  20. Ah, Bettie. Here is an obscure B.P. collectable from my CD rack.
  21. JC, that looks like the contents of an entire hobby store you've got in there. I spy a Barracuda?
  22. We all need our certain type of inspiration. I take it those are not pin up art by the likes of Elvgren or Vargas. That reminds me, Ive got some framed and in storage with room on my walls.
  23. Earthquake near Boise ID yesterday. The house felt as if it was being tossed around like a boat on the ocean. This is the first time ever experiencing an earthquake, though the epicenter was nearly 80 miles from here it was scary enough.
  24. Something happened while I uploaded that video to you tube so I apologize for the low quality. Yes I'm a neat freak, video was made after I tidied up a bit. Dust is a real problem here so I don't leave a lot of things like paint bottles, infrequetly used tools or other started models out in the open. In fact the problem is so bad in this house I have not been able to use my air brush booth since moving in. Thanx for participating, anyone else game?
  25. Because we are all trying to stay responsible and stay at home these days thought it might be fun to start a similar thread like over on another forum. Here is my one take short video just to get started. Anyone else game?
