  1. The melding of the two kits is perfect. Looks like it came that way. And the two cars almost match together perfectly. There's something about that front 3/4 shot (pic4) that just seems off to me, somehow. By no means is that a slight on your skills, it's just the Camaro and Mustang shapes and how they work together. Love the colour choice.
  2. This was the obvious one for me. http://www.vevo.com/watch/rob-zombie/dragula/USIV20300562 Rob Zombie's Dragula.
  3. Slow progress, but stuff's getting done. Frame and some of the hangers are looking good, got the axles mostly assembled, but still need sanding and smoothing before paint. Engine has first coat of paint done. I found Tamiya's X3 blue is pretty close to the Maxxforce blue. Maybe a little darker, but looks close enough for me. I have plenty of reference pics now, so it should turn out pretty good. One thing I noticed is that the instructions say to install the oil pan as I have. But every reference pic (see below for examples) of the real thing I've found has the pan on the other way around. For those who have built this one, are the instructions wrong? Will the engine still fit if I flip the pan around?
  4. I definitely believe in the possibility. If asked to give a definite yes or no, then I'd go with yes. Unfortunately, I've never seen anything that wasn't simply explained. Would kind of like to though.
  5. Thanks! Will keep that in mind when I get to that stage. I think yours is the first I've seen built without the SkyRise roof. I like it! Frame extension too, eh? Totally works on your build.
  6. Yeah, I started adding those last night. Suspension mounts, cab mounts, all kinds of good stuff! This is my first Moebius kit, and so far the fit of the pieces has been excellent. Tabs fit in their respective places tight, with pretty much no play. Front cab mounts had some play, but if you temporarily mount the cab floor then it's easy to line everything up properly.
  7. I wouldn't have gone with airbags, but otherwise I think that's fantastic. Personally, just a nicely lowered truck with a slight rake to the front is perfect. As an example, this the Targa Truck, only truck to ever race in the Targa Newfoundland.
  8. Got some work done over the weekend. First step, skim through my Prostar brochure and see if there are any decent engine pics so I can get the colours right! Only one engine pics, and it's tiny, so I continue my Google image search. The second thing I did was snag some of the boy's Lego to build a jig to make sure my frame was straight. Weighted it down with paint cans. End result was a successful, perfectly square and straight frame. I'll actually start getting some paint on this thing tonight. I think.
  9. I think this my favourite build around here at the moment.
  10. It's all good! Everyone here has tips and tricks. Makes things go smoother, and makes everyone else's builds look better. Advice and help will never be frowned upon. Not by me anyway. It's the weekend, so I should be able to actually slap some glue on this thing over the next couple of days. And it's warm, I may be able to get some painting done. Fingers crossed.
  11. Always liked the Mini, even though it's kind of a "chick" car. As an aside, here in Alberta, you can get your learner's permit at age 14. My boy, who is 11, keeps reminding me that he's driving in 3 years. Yikes!
  12. Filled up last night, and it's down to 64.9 cents/litre. Crazy. Milk, bottled water, Pepsi...all more expensive than gas.
  13. Oh Ezra is definitely a nut. But his book is an interesting read. I'm with you on sending our oil and gas out of country. It makes no sense that we produce a ton of it, yet sell it to other countries for less that we sell it to ourselves. Makes zero sense to me. My job is based on trucks and vehicles, so I stay very aware of fuel costs and economy. And it's becoming more and more of a concern for my customers. And economy is always a concern when I'm choosing what to drive. Northern Alberta is a whole different world. Come a little further south, and we care about nature almost as much as BC! That's my previous truck hanging out in Jasper on a trip to see some clients the day before Christmas.
  14. To be a little nit picky, there is no tar in the oilsands. Big difference between tarsands and oilsands. On a somewhat related note, if the whole oil debate interests you, read the book "Ethical Oil" by Ezra Levant. I don't usually wade into politics or anything like that, but the book is pretty interesting.
  15. Well, I've officially started this one. Haven't done much, but I have done something. Got the body pieces out, cut them from the sprues, sanded them smooth and test fit everything. The cab seems to be slightly warped, but when I put the rear cab wall in place, everything pretty much straightened out. I think once the interior is in place and everything is glued together, there should be no problems.
  16. Frustrating. My new truck (2016 Nissan Titan XD Platinum) does not come with the Howard channels as part of the included satellite trial. So it looks like I'm on a Howard break until the trial runs out and I start paying again.
  17. Our gas is 66.9c/L. That would be 66 cents per litre. By my math, that's about $2.49 per gallon. And this is the cheapest it's been here for over 10 years. Last summer, gas hovered around $1.10/L (about $4.16/gal). Diesel is at 72.9/L, only cost me $51 to fill the truck this morning. Diesel normally over a buck a litre. Frustrating that gas is so much cheaper down south. The best part of this is that the refineries are literally a 10 minute drive from where I'm sitting right now. Forget exporting our fuel and oil. We should be closing the pipes and roads to the borders and stockpiling for ourselves. Or at the very least, we crank up the costs for the other countries we sell to.
  18. Loved it! The X-Files has been my fav show since it debuted back in the early 90s. I've been waiting for this return for years! I enjoyed the premiere. Thought the story line was perfect. It dove right back in, bringing back the mythology of the black oil, the alien baby thefts/experiments, the Cigarette Smoking Man. Forget pandering to anyone watching for the first time, this one was for the fans. And I loved it. I hope the ratings are strong enough over the 6 episodes that they decide to bring it back permanently.
  19. Porsche engine. So you're building a panel version of the B32. Sort of. I approve 100%. I used to have a 1985 T3 Doka. Did a TDI swap in it. Miss that truck.
  20. I have a Lonestar kit in the stash, so now curious to fine out just how awful those instructions are! After I'm done this one of course.
  21. Really?! I've never seen it around here. Will have to try to find that for sure!
  22. I use rattle cans. I always seem to get a good finish. Lots of light coats, a clearcoat top, and some polishing, and they look fine. I have an airbrush, but it's too much work. Takes the fun out of the hobby. I'll only ever use it for Alclad.
  23. Whoa! X3 for the Transit. I wonder if the Diablo and Countach are the old ESCI kits as well. I have all of those in the stash.
  24. I thought I did! I knew about the game, but had no idea there would be half an hour of post-game recap. And until the kiddies are in bed at 9, I'm not watching tv. Would rather be occupied with them. Had a mean game of Star Wars Trivial Pursuit on the go.
