  1. It's insane isn't it? I mean, it's not like it's an ESCI Transit van or something.
  2. Nelson DeMille's books are excellent. The Charm School is still my favourite of his. I usually have two books on the go at one. Some sort of fiction, and a music biography of some kind. I'm just finishing Sekret Machines by Tom Delonge. Yes, the guy from Blink 182. The book is excellent, all about Dreamland and reverse engineering alien technology. It's a big one, 700 pages, but it's good. Apparently the first book of a trilogy. Also recently read Adrenalized by Phil Collen from Def Leppard. Pretty good book. Before that, it was Lita Ford's Living Like A Runaway. Not a great book. She really glossed over a lot of things. Much like Tommy Lee's book, this just seemed really definesive.
  3. I think the colour is just about perfect. And the big spoiler/wing is the way to go on this one. Before laying down clear, I would do something about the panel gaps for the doors. Something looks off about them. The edges almost look a little rounded? Of course now that you're happy with the paint, it may be too late to go back and fix that. So just do a wash or something on those panel lines and clear that thing!
  4. Love the 8-series. Can't say that I've ever seen a kit of one. I guess there's another I need to add to my want list! Colour is perfect. I worked for a local BMW dealer in the late 90s, and it seemed like every 8-series we had come around was either this green or dark blue.
  5. That is fantastic! Awesome idea for changing up a van build.
  6. Just finished a trade with intmd8r. Arrived quickly, was packaged safely, and exactly as described. Would trade again.
  7. Whoever is in charge needs to lay off the musicians and start taking politicians instead.
  8. Easy one for me. Nick Cave.
  9. Awesome! One day I'm going to suck it up and buy the resin Doka version. Wish someone made the Vanagon style Transporter. I had an '85 that I highly modified. Would love to build a replica.
  10. I like the kits that are a little different. Nice build!
  11. It's the world's most exciting update. Started sanding and smoothing the fuel tanks last night.
  12. For me, the guitar is my big hobby. I've played the guitar for almost 30 years now. I still jam with the guys from the band I had in high school. I also rebuild/restomod guitars. I also enjoy camping and the associated hiking and mountain biking that go with it. And I'm a voracious reader.
  13. I love these old ESCI kits. I have the standard G Wagon kit, the molded in green one. I should bump that up on the "to do" list, as it's just such a neat kit.
  14. Hit up an antique fair yesterday. $10 CDN for the pair.
  15. So believe it or not, my local International dealer does not currently have a Prostar in stock. is anyone able to find a Prostar and snap some pics of the rear chassis, and lower engine compartment? I want to get some pics of how the brake and airlines are run. From the rear suspension and air tanks, to the compressors and pieces under the hood. Google search isn't helpful. Thanks! Dan
  16. This is turning out really nice.
  17. Working on plumbing lines right now. Trying to find pics of a 1:1 chassis or brake set up has been a challenge. Might have to stop by a dealership and take a few pics. Got the body painted, really happy with how it turned out. Shouldn't need much polishing at all. Have to detail paint first though, then add clear. More pics soon.
  18. Have to say, it doesn't surprise me. Even though Cadillac are finally making some excellent cars now, people just aren't buying them. yet they can't keep Escalades in stock. The new ATS is a fantastic car, very worthy of being a BMW 3-series competitor. I've leased a fw of these and have spent time with them, and they're great. The CTS has been great for years, and the current gen, now that it's been "embiggened" to compete with the BMW 5-series, is even better than before. We have a few in our rental fleet, and I love driving these! But people just don't buy them. For every Cadillac car we move, we do a dozen Audis. Mention Cadillac to most people, and you get this look of confusion like you've grown a second head. Yet the Escalade has waiting lists and dealers get full price for them all day long. The new SRX replacement arrives soon, and it's already got a waiting list. The sad reality is that trucks and SUVs rule, and the cars get pushed aside. From a business point of view, I get it. But as a driver? Just bring this back...
  19. VERY nicely done! Really like all of the extra details you've added.
  20. I'll be the odd one out here. The digital dashes are a huge improvement over the traditional gauges. Everything is much easier to read at a glance, and the digital readouts are programmable, meaning that the driver can choose which information he wants to be prominent and which info can be off to the sides. The various displays are indeed colour coded so that it can turn red when there's a problem. Shift pints, redline warnings, systems warnings, all easy to see, and the warnings are very visible. Personally i'd love to grab a similar setup to put in my next project car.
  21. Just had this delivered yesterday. 2016 SRT Challenger Scat Pack in Plum Crazy. Forged wheels, sunroof, nav, tech group, appearance group, premium sound, appearance group. Had to go with the 8-speed because wifey can't drive a manual. So much fun. Taking it out to an autocross day in a couple of weeks In hindsight, I should have skipped the sunroof as my 6'6" frame is a little tight for headroom. Still, head's not rubbing so all is good.
  22. I like this one. You guys and your scratching building skills...most impressive.
  23. I was unsure of that colour at first, but this turned out really well.
