  1. Super build of a very cool car. Great work! I love that you were able to combine multiple parts from the kits. Chris
  2. I'm not even expecting a release from Tamiya. I can see one from Fujimi. The last Ferrari by Tamiya was the FXX, barring the F60 in 1/20 scale. RoG's kits have really been coming along nicely. I look forward to them. Chris
  3. Mark, I know exactly what kit you have. All kits from Japan have no wrap on them. Like I asked before is this a kit you bought second hand or from a dealer? If it was imported through a dealer it was most likely wrapped through the middleman. As I said before I think your kit may have been missed as far as the engine is concerned. It happens. My suggestion would be to purchase the Tamiya kit that does have a engine. Much better kit. Chalk this up to lesson learned. All the same, wherever you got it from at the very least try to get your money back or get the engine. This is the excerpt from HLJ about this kit: "Standard kit of the Skyline comes with a fully assembled and painted and marked engine model with a display stand to show it off next to your kit (as seen in the photo below). With a little work, you might be able to mount it under the hood, but the kit is not designed to do this. Molded in black. Right side steering only." I'm just trying to help you get this thing right. Good Luck. Chris
  4. Sounds like you got a kit with a missing engine. Since it was or is a resin piece it was probably not put in the box before shipment. Unless you bought it secondhand, then I can see where someone bought it for the engine. Maybe try to contact fujimi or the place you bought it from to try and get the engine. I know the kit is OOP, but it's always worth a try. Chris
  5. I don't have any words. With exception to WOW. It's all that comes to mind. Chris
  6. Thanks Dave. That's exactly the conclusion I came too as well. Basically have a system that works for you. Know what you are going to use and with what. I used to dread painting as well, but now I have to control myself so as not to rush into it and get the dry fitting etc. done before I lay that first coat. Chris
  7. Two done already this year. I completed 4 last year. I'm back in the groove and just having fun. This is the Fujimi Nissan Skyline R-33 S-Tune. You may remember last time I completed the R-32 version of this car. Yes, I'm planning to start the R-34 version soon too along with the new Skyline if and when the S-tune comes out for that one. Anyway, standard box stock build. Painted in Zero paints Chrome Silver Martha Stewart flocking in light gray with two tone interior. The decals were very fragile and I lost a few of them while applying. One of the side stripes broke in two places but I was able to get it fixed. The inter-cooler actually comes with a piece of metal mesh to cover the plastic supplied piece. This time I used the decal for the "nismo" on the inter-cooler versus my template and micron pens. Of note about this kit were the tweaked spoiler and window. They fit nice but the warping shows if you look hard enough. Something I didn't notice until actual assembly. Even during dry fit phase it fit fine, but I had to polish the window and may have warped it with force. Windscreen wipers were also two rights. Used some from my parts bin. The mirrors are upside down as that was the only way they would fit. No other way looked correct or fit fit right. I tried every possible angle and left to right. It's all good since I just wanted them for my collection. Only the discerning Skyline fan would even know. Here are a couple of pictures: The group so far: There are a few more pictures at MY FOTKI Chris
  8. Here is the link to Bob's test: Alclad vs. Spaz Chris
  9. Happy Birthday Curt! 60? Wow, I thought you were much younger...LOL Chris
  10. Sure is pretty! I like the wheels too. Chris
  11. Danny, those are the kit wheels. It's just that james did such an excellent job with the paint, decals and tires that they look aftermarket. I think, as someone mentioned, this is one of the best box builds I've seen of this car. I wish I would have scuffed my tires up on mine. Certainly something that will be remedied when I build my Babdboy version! I keep looking at this thing James! Chris
  12. Nice work James, as usual! I love the small touches on the tires. Nice added realism throughout. Chris
  13. Nice work Ron! You don't see to many of these built! Chris
  14. Nice work Moose. My favorite Porsche. I've got a couple of these in que. Great build, color and photography. Chris

  16. Beautiful! I love cars in Pearl White. Especially cars of this nature. Did you know that there is an actual one? One of one. Special Ordered. Although it is a roadster. Great clean work! Chris
  17. Fantastic work Simon! It is a gorgeous car. Look forward to seeing you progress along on this one. Chris
  18. I wonder if round 2 will have the A-Team GMC van as a tie in to the movie? I liked the trailer. Looks like a fun movie. Chris
  19. Nick, have you figured out how to sell on emodelcars.com yet? Let me know what problems you may be having and I'll do my best to type you through them. Chris
  20. Looks like a really nice little unit! Please let us know your thoughts on it. Can you give us more info on the Grex air compressor? Chris
  21. There are some super sweet impressive builds there. Imagination is in no shortage. Chris
  22. I'd have to say so far so excellent! Really nice looking work so far. I've heard lots of problems with that $240 kit too. Lots of nice possibilities with the R8. I think Revell will get there money out of this one! Keep it going. I love to see the skills worked here and the final product. Chris

    Of course!
  24. Thanks Erik. I have to ask, how tacky is the stuff? Easy to work with? I've heard it mentioned before. I'm so used to using Tamiya tape but lately have been having issues with some of it. Chris

I love all the details, especially over the headlights. What did you use to imitate the tape? Great looking car! Chris
