Looks good John! Not sure why I am more partial to the closed version than the open. I can't wait for the 458 to come out and see where Revell is at. The kits just keep getting better. Chris

I think David T. is building one for an SA review. I could be wrong, but the pictures I've seen of his look beautiful. I'll be buying one of these. I never did pick it up back in the day. Looks like the tires are no name. I'm going to say it probably is a straight re-issue as Bob suggested. Chris

Matt, that looks great! It does look to fit very well when all closed up. Did the suspension need much adjustment? By that I mean how well does it sit out of the box? The only concern I have is from the photo of the wheels turned, has a cockeyed look to it. I suspect it's something to do with how Revell ustilizes the steering parts. Definitely a fan of that color. Thanks for sharing. Chris

Right you are Jon. I think we'll see it in an upcoming issue of SA. Chris

Unless you are Bob and have one already! Looking forward to it immensely. Certain my current build will suffer loneliness when this hits the step. Chris

Thanks for keeping us in the loop Mike! Chris -
Matt, great tip and thanks for sharing. Looking good! Dave, I figured it out myself, just buy both!! LOL Chris

Nice work Matt, Love your color choice and interior. It really works. As for the valve covers I would have to agree on toning them down a bit. I've noticed on the real cars it is a flatter textured red. All the same, it looks fantastic! Chris

As was mentioned the newer Fujimi kits within the past 5 years I'd say, are really great to work with. Engineered very well and look fantastic built out of the box. With that said, most are curbside. The F430 with its showcase engine cover gives you a great illusion of the engine, and it's only a few pieces but looks great. Fujimi's Enthusiast kits have an engine, but also a huge amount of parts. The Skyline kits, if you want an engine, would be the Tamiya R32. A really nice kit. Aoshima and Fujimi's kits don't have the engines. At one time Fujimi did offer a kit with a resin engine but that has been long discontinued. I've built two Fujimi Skyline kits recently, the R32 and R33 in S-tune trim. They are perfect for what I wanted, eye candy on my shelf. Chris

EModelcars.com month!

Bruno, Don't hesitate to email the sellers. It's kind of difficult to let everyone know what shipping will be out of the CONUSA. I see that Gregg did update the shipping part and that may help some. I try to let people know what my zip is and what one kit will ship out at, that way they can go to the USPS site, or Canada Post for you, and get a figure on it. Again, though, don't hesitate to email. I try to get back to everyone the same day if I get a question on anything. Chris -
Let me introduce myself.

Hi Murphy! From another Minnesotan. It seems we're really coming out of the woodwork here. I live near Mankato, in Lake Crystal, about 15 miles west of there anyway. Do you belong to any of the clubs up there? Welcome! Chris -
That is the Oldsmobile I want in my glass case. Nicely done. THen again, you knew that! Have fun! Chris

Fujimi announcement and more Aoshima wheels
crispy replied to crispy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thanks Peter. I wasn't sure if it was a typo or not. I already pre-ordered the Tamiya version. So, if anyone has the Hasegawa version on pre-order I think we'll have to do a parts break down and see which kit is it. I've always enjoyed Hasegawa's rally car kits. I would rank them right up with a Tamiya kit, and as was brought up, the attention to details. I've only been familiar with Fujimi's 1/20 kits. This will be my first Tamiya in 1/20, but had I known for certain it wasn't a typo I probably would have ordered a Hasegawa kit. We'll have to wait and see. Whatever the case, I know it's been an expensive year already. Chris -
Fujimi announcement and more Aoshima wheels
crispy replied to crispy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Greg, I always purchase my wheels from HWJ.com. The prices are a few yen cheaper than at HLJ. Some people feel the shipping is higher at HWJ, but I haven't seen that in my experience. I've never had a problem with HWJ and they always respond to questions in a timely manner. I've all but stopped buying at HLJ. Their prices aren't as good. Chris -
Fujimi announced a Ferrari 458 for pre-order at HWJ.com. Aoshima has 4 new sets of wheels, although they all seem like re-paints of previous ones, but still must haves. Aoshima is also releasing: Lamborghini LP400 w/exclusive p.e. kit C-West Lancer Evo X ANd a few other kits. Don't forget Tamiya's Lotus 79 (although HWJ lists it as Hasegawa) Chris

I buy mine at Michael's Arts and Crafts. It's about $1.00 or so.

Ben, I have not ran into that problem. However, Once I have the area painted I let it flash for about 5 minutes, maybe less and pull the putty off. I've yet to have a problem with any residue. Kneading the putty back together and miraculously the paint on the putty disappears. Not totally mind you, but it does lessen. The more you use it the more it will retain the paint though, and it depends on how much you may have sprayed on the putty. Chris

I've been using an promoting the site for the past year. Gregg has just completed some very nice upgrades to the site and it looks great. I've had great success selling there and have lots of repeat buyers. I normally have approximately 20+ auctions running all the time. I try to add one to two new items per week. I say the more the merrier. Chris -

Curt, that's really nice. I love the color differences in the engine bay. Really, looks better than you say. Chris

Nice and clean. Looks like the Xanavi is coming along nicely too. Chris
