I'm going to chime in here since I have "owned" nothing but 2nd gen T/A's and Formulas. The Mar©(k)'s are right. The hoods will interchange from 77 up. The slight difference in hoods from 70-76 are in curvature. Almost every body panel is interchangeable from 70-81. As far as the decals, yes, very slight deviations in them. Whether it be font, painted versus stencil etc.. You should be able to purchase all the correct resin items via the places Marc already suggested. I'm also with Marc here Nick, not trying to start an argument. Facts on the web are different than actually being able to pore over the actual car being done. Parts ran out, decals ran out and Pontiac used what they had. Just as GM has and will do. Chris

I believe Art is working with Round 2 or is it Moebius? Anyway, I think he's happy with where he is at anyway. Chris

Michael's 50% off Coupon
crispy replied to Casey's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Not sure about your guys' stores, but mine put the Martha Stewart flocking on clearance. The bottles are $1.49. You can use a coupon on them too I believe. I picked up a couple more colors, but the primary colors are pretty much sold out here. Chris -
Superior creativity. Art Deco for sure. Peter, your imagination knows no bounds. It's not my type of stuff, but your creativity and penchant for raiding the parts box makes this interesting to me. Great Work. Chris

I don't have enough adjectives that haven't already been used. The rivet work is what gets me. Painstaking work for sure. Wondering if you could give us a rundown on how you did it. Nice clean paint. The car looks fantastic, but I have to agree, too good to race it. Chris

Pretty lackluster show this year. I was not impressed in the least. Main reason I love going is to see the Porsche display of which there was not one nor BMW. Didn't take many photos. Before we headed out I snapped a few pics of my friends Super Bee. This car has been in 4 magazines. Beautiful car. Wasn't a real big fan of them until I saw this color combo: A couple of photo's from the Auto Show itself: Some new interesting colors out there for sure. Not a really big show, I can understand why though. More pictures at MY FOTKI Chris

Curt, I looked long and hard at those screens. No, I cannot tell which one you did. Super work. Chris

Nice work Curt. I don't care what you build I always look because I know it'll be nice with a bit of history to it. Looking at the brake cooling ducts, what did you use to get them in that natural color? They look fantastic. Did the intake screens come from the kit or the p.e.? Really nice stuff Curt! Chris

Beautifully designed car. I was really in awe when I saw the pictures. Catches some great Porsche's in the design. I'm sure they know they have a hit on their hands. Fujimi? Aoshima? Dare I say Tamiya? Chris

Sounds like Moebius has a really good response to the kit! Here's what they had to say today: "It's been pretty popular so far with distributors. I think it will sell well enough that we can do some of the other new International vehicles. No rush on it for sure, this is actually our second year into this particular kit, it's been a long time coming for us!" Sounds great! Chris
-
Mike, it may even be a bit further than that too. It all hinges on that first mock up and what changes will be needed. Then for International to put its stamp of approval on it. I'm willing to wait for a good product. I don't think anyone else will be doing one anytime soon. Hang in there Mike!! Chris

I've been following this thread and another one on another board that Moebius participates in and asked them as well about the truck. Here is the response I got from them today: "It has been announced as a 4th QTR release. Retail is 69.99. Nothing for test shots yet, as I mentioned before the research has been tough. International's engineering department has been helpful, but they are so busy. We're still hoping on a 2010 release, but until we get the initial mockup we can't be sure where it's headed." I'm certainly not going to hold my breath, but I definitely don't want them to rush it either. If suggested price is around $70 I can certainly see the $50 range for the online shops. Chris

Sales must not be up to snuff. Two weeks ago they had a 60% off coupon. Sounds like only a select few got one. Talk about substantial savings. Never seen 60% off an item from anywhere as far as a coupon. Chris

I too have used a dryer sheet one time on a project. I thought the realism was perfect. I sprayed it with gray primer and glued to the hood. It was a tip from a friend who used to build years ago. Chris

Beautifully done! Had you not mentioned all the problems I would have never known there was an issue with it. Again, fantastic! Chris

Jameston I love it! Leave it to you to paint these cool cars in some different colors. That looks right on the California. I hope to work on my hardtop soon. Getting that AMG 63 worked on now. Great work! Chris

Badger makes a nice little battery operated hand held mixer: I also have the Robart paint shaker. This one is 110v, but they do offer a battery operated version too. Chris

Mark, I'm off all weekend so I'll see what's left of the car and get you an itemized list. I pulled the engine out of my engine bin and it looks pretty complete. I'll send you a pm when I get to it. Chris

Selling my Tyrone Malone trucks
crispy replied to ken harris's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Curt, that is really cool. I look forward to watching the progress. Glad to hear you'll be restoring them. Chris -
Nice work Ross! I couldn't even begin to work in that scale. Chris

Bob, Don't play with my emotions! You did say Aston right? C'mon now!! Wow, very exciting news. I'll be a poor sap for sure this year. I look forward to each one. AWESOME! Chris

Mark, I have the engine from my R32 Tamiya kit. It was an unfortunate victim of a 6 year olds grip at the hobby shop display. You are welcome to it if you want it. Just let me know. Chris

Alex, of all the builds you've been showing us this is by far my most favorite of yours. I'll be honest, it's the color scheme. I love white and blue, but the it's also a Ferrari in "not red". Gorgeous little car. All the interior components you used really make this stand out too. Thanks so much for sharing! Chris

Marc, I love your building style. Great paint, great wheels, great stance. What's not to like! Chris
