  1. Did you guys know he sells these pieces on emodelcars.com???? He's got three pages of great looking hoods and stuff. Here's his link of stuff for sale at emodelcars.com: http://www.emodelcars.com/other_items.php?owner_id=100351 Chris
  2. Hi Casey, saw you ad show up while I was there. I too have been trying to set up a wanted ad in the die-cast section to no avail. It's far from ebay, but if you post the wanted ad with a description you'll get it out there regardless of what you post it under or at least posted under something that does work. Hopefully when things start to really pick up Greg can focus on some of the issues. Right now it works and it's free. Chris
  3. Yup! Still looks good from any angle! Chris
  4. Hey guys, looks like were about to top 400 registered users. Things are slowly picking up at emodelcars.com! Way to go! There are approximately 181 auctions running now. I've added a couple more items of interest. Some Cobra Colors paint to be exact. Be sure to check it out. Lots of new things being listed, like resin hoods, old kits, magazines and books. Don't be afraid to try and sell some stuff and or bid as well. Here are the current running AUCTIONS Chris
  5. atenzapower, nice finds on the you-tube videos! Look forward to your build up. You got me itching to do mine now too! Chris
  6. Another great one Chris! Did you do anything special with the kit decals or apply as normal? By that I mean did you clear the decals in case of cracking? I really want to get a hold of the JPS Mustang kit. The black and gold always look good to me. I hope I can build it just as nice as yours when the time comes. Chris
  7. I'd say you did a nice job! I don't recall the Foose yellow one. Chris you really have some nice clean builds. Always enjoy opening your posts. Chris
  8. Hey Dan, That is the biggest thorn in Michael's side. They just can't seem to get it through the corporate minds that it would be easier to put the coupon on-line like HL does. They keep telling everyone to sign up on-line to receive the ad and the coupons. Not everyone has been getting coupons. I know they are still working on it. It's hard to find the coupon online when it is out there though. So I'm not really any help. Chris
  9. LOL, You guys are hilarious! I know an assistant mgr. at my local Hobby Lobby and she knows I work at Michael's, but she is the only one that will help me with anything in the store. As far as a uniform, Michael's has name tags and busboy aprons. Seriously, I certainly remember to take them off before I leave! LOL Frank9129, yes, it is a Arts and Crafts store. Depending on the Volume store you are (A-E) depends on what they can carry. IF you are looking for strictly hobby stuff, you are most likely not going to find it there. They do carry bags and magnets though. 82k5, Casey is right. Go to that link. Make sure you have your store number handy (usually a 4 digit code). Let them know what happened and to whom you may have spoke with at the store. With the new dress code Assistant Managers and Managers are the only ones with their title marked on their name tag. All others just have their name on the tag. While you at it let them know how you'd like to see the model and paint selection widened. Chris
  10. Well, besides it being red... I really like it. Nice work. Came out really clean and very nice. My most favorite design from them in that era. Chris
  11. I really find that hard to believe. As most of you know I work at Michael's. Their attitude is Customer first and they are very harsh with employees that treat you with no disregard. As a member of the team I go out of my way to say hi to anyone that walks in, look for people that look lost and help them. Maybe that's just me, but I think our store is pretty much like that. I can certainly see that other areas would be different, but if they want to survive in this tough situation we're in they'll have to change. One of the things we're getting "graded" on is how we treat customers. Happily I can say our store in our zone is the highest rated. The only thing I can say is call corporate or goto the Michael's website and lodge a complaint against the store. Nobody should be getting the brush off at any Michael's store. As for Hobby Lobby, it's funny you guys mention that. I get the brush off there. So it has to be a location thing. I've had a few run in's with the HL manager and he always sighs when I ask a question or look for some help. I also get that from employees as well as watching them run and hide from customers. I know it went off topic here, but I'm posting the info for you to know what's coming up. I've said this on another site, but you guys, the customer, can help the store by telling them what's wrong. Along those same lines if you want to see new stock rotated more often at these stores you also need to voice your concern over that. They are listening. I read our weekly updates and newsletters every time we get them. Noticeably they write with "her" and "she" in mind. So you guys are correct, they don't think a lot of men shop at the stores. With that said, give them another try, let them know you aren't happy with the brush off and talk to the manager. Michael's is changing, and they want you to be part of it. Chris
  12. THAT, is going to be sweet! A pair of kits I'd love to have, but just can't justify paying the asking prices. I look forward to seeing you complete this one. Chris
  13. Michael's will be re-setting there model section. There will be some new kits coming in with some older ones getting clearanced out. The re-sets should be started on our near March 6th. Just off the top of my head: 68 Bullitt Mustang '08 Bullitt Mustang '08 Dodge Challenger T-600 Kenworth Snapper 1/32 69 Nova 70 Nova (this one confused me and has me wondering if they mean the Yenko?) There were a few others as well but these interested me and I thought I would share. They should be pretty affordable with the 40% coupons Michael's has about every week. It also appeared there would be updates to the Testor's paint racks too. I didn't take enough time to fully look at the new sheet. Just thought I would get an FYI to the frugal shoppers in all of us. Chris
  14. Very nice stuff! I'm really digging the rims on the 55 Chev truck. Welcome! Chris
  15. Tommy! I'm so happy to see you over here instead of at the SA forums. I'm still in love with your 74 SD. Beautifuly detailed build. Looks like another recommendation for the SEL wheels. Chris
  16. I can't remember who Despain was talking with, but he(the guy he was talking to) too agreed Danica and Milka would not be the choice drivers for this team if it were to happen. He basically said they needed someone who was 19 or 20. Nothing against the lady drivers, but I certainly don't think they would be the ones I would want to be driving my F1 car around. As for the 62 million, I agree why even bother especially with these economic times. Sponsors are pulling out, factory backed teams are losing out etc etc etc. I would think that even the minimum 100 million would be risky. All the same I look forward to the F1 season starting. Chris
  17. I have to agree, that looks fantastic! Nice clean build. IT does look exotic. Chris
  18. Yeah, Hub Hobby is a favorite of mine when I make my way up there. Their info: Hub Hobby 6410 Penn Ave. S. Richfield 612-866-9575 Hours are Mon-Fri 10-9 Sat 9:30-5:30 Sun. 12-5 I like Scale Model Supplies in St. Paul too. 458 N. Lexington Parkway 651-646-7781 Hours are Mon-Fri 10-9 Sat 9:30-9 Sun 12-5 SMS has a lot more oop kits. It's nestled in a basement. Lots of cool things to look at. Probably 10-15 minutes away from Hub. Chris
  19. Very nice! Great engine details. Chris
  20. What's with all the red Ferrari's lately?? Really nice and clean. I find it hard to believe it is the Revell kit. Great Job! Chris
  21. Very nice and clean. I agree with Ismael, try to get a little more light in your photo's. Look forward to some more of the same! Chris
  22. The old Man is right. The other alternatives are Hobby Lobby and Michael's. They each offer 40% off coupons. Hobby Lobby carries Paasche and Iwata. Michael's carries Badger. I have two Badgers and love them. The customer service from the company bar none is the best. With that said, some searching on the internet will probably get you some cheaper prices on airbrushes, but if you want to see them and or hold them, the best place to go is the hobby shop. Good Luck with your search. Chris
  23. I was sad to hear this too. Although I only have a couple of the promo Corvettes I certainly enjoy them for what they are. I have a couple more I want to add to my collection so I suppose I better hop onto it before they go up up up in price. As for Green-light, for the money, I think they are nice. I just hope we get the ZR1. That would be a real shame not to have in plastic. It's a beautiful car with some long legs and I think lots could be done with that kit and its parts. Chris
  24. Billy, My drought is as long as yours. Since September. My problem is depression from Winter and life. Come Feb. March I should be back on track. Just know that when you get back at least all of your stuff will be there waiting. Don't get rid of it because you may regret it. Like everyone else I stay connected for inspiration and information. With a family, in my case anyway, there's just too much going on to be able to set aside me time in the shop, but I know the kits aren't going anywhere so when I am ready they too will be. Glad to see you surfaced, I had been wondering about you. Just figured you were doing the die-cast thing. Billy, if you send me a PM, I've got something I'd like to send you, but you gotta promise to build it. OK? Maybe that will help you out? Chris
